Had a smashing game with the GE+Mantis on Gold. I forgot to put on anything other than a Juggernaut Shield, which was a leftover from the previous game, but still managed to do really well. I promoted all of the classes which weren't at lvl20, so now they are fully "unlocked". Tried out the CSR, Incisor, Raptor (which is still a pain in the ass). I dread the Kishock, was never really good with it.

When I pick a sniper, matchmaker usually gives me Reapers, White and I find myself to be running from the Husks I always miss.

Every once in a while I'll go back and do Sniper Rifle Mastery for fun. I still find the Black Widow to be amazing, even after all of this time. I love everything about that gun - the sound it makes quickscoping, the boom, the kick, the sundered skulls, the "gargling" of the shattered Nemesis.....
Besides, I always feel bad because a Batarian Heavy Melee takes WAY too long and I always killsteal. It's so hard NOT to take the shot with that gun. It's also quite satisfying on a SR specced GI - even more so than "normal".

I love sniping, if not in Mass Effect multiplayer so much.
I found one arrangement that worked great for me, the Drell Assassin specc'd out of grenades. All the debuff and area evos are taken on RM, and I would just paint spawn points or choke points and fire away with a Black Widow.
I would always be surprised by how well it worked, and I'd end up hitting the Gold SR and kill medals around wave 7 or 8.

That setup can also make the Raptor bearable, to the point that pugs may accuse you of hacking (on PS3!) or at the very least assuming your Raptor is at level X, when in fact you've just unlocked it, don't have Grenade Gear anyway and are indeed looking for something to troll Gold with - works like a charm. I genuinely suck as a Sniper, and have used not hosting as my excuse for 5 years, so I'm not going to change any time soon. I'll say this though, I can snipe off host in ME3, unlike MEA where it is ( was for me) downright impossible. And talking of being off-host, I don't think anyone has mentioned the Human Infiltrator and Kishock as a fun option, with hosting issues mitigated by Cryo Blast. No hipfire penalty to the Sticky damage is the other main selling point.

QFI pretty standard for me. QMI power-based, sniper shot > grenade for fire explosion. My fav sniper build GI with javelin and mine, 1shot everything. Salarian infiltrator power-based, shot and then mine to proc tech burst Shadow (sometimes i go a glass cannon melee build), defensive build with black widow, cloak and shot, not too much gameplay Asari adept kishock i don't recommend to play her in PUG, hard to land a harpoon Assasin drell infiltrator with raptor, i played this build with HamleticTortoise, but i liked and now is standar for me

Sabotage helps with lots of stuns (extra lols if you roll Geth) and you still get stickies and bonus FE damage if you take IA.

Well I've sniped quite a bit in this game back in the days, and overall I have to say my favorite sniping loadout is the Hybrid Javelin GT, the same one as the gif above. You have to hit the heads of higher level enemies for the OHK so it requires a bit more skill and effort, and is therefore more rewarding. And it's one of the few sniping loadout where you don't give a flying crap if you end up facing Rippaz - you just turn your mindset into the one of a Vorcha, and voilà!

Agreed completely, and funnily enough I mentioned her in my original post but then edited it because I realized that, in truth, I can't imagine using anything other than a Claymore on my QFI. It wasn't always the case though, and the Widow and Kishock are arguably more effective, but the High Lord is still the High Lord, and must be obeyed.

It wasn't always the case though, and the Widow and Kishock are arguably more effective, but the High Lord is still the High Lord, and must be obeyed. As a devout believer in the QFE+Claymoar combo, I have to totally approve of putting it on the QFI. Though, my new manifest is totally being carried by Widow QFI (OMG, it's so beautiful with no aim assist! Poor Cerberus, Sabotage just makes them easy game). PC has totally made me re-fall in love with sniping, without aim assist (Controller Mod Variant), I can just relax and turn the enemies into blood fountains without worrying about whether the aim is going to jerk to some arbitrary wall. QMI is my shotgun Quarian of choice, once upon a time, he had a Javelin, but then he picked up a claymoar, hit the adrenaline module, and went to town, never looked back. Then I hit Wraith X and gave it to him with Incendiary Ammo, Shotgun+Arc Grenades is really a good combination, and with elemental ammo, the opportunities for destruction really sky rocket. Ever time I've off-hosted with Kishrock, I've regretted it, but it is such an OP gun on-host. It's the little things that make it stronger, like the hip-fire penalty, and the DoT, and the increased HS multiplier, the ammo count, the reload, but most of all, the ragdoll, the High-Lord will beautiful knock people on their arses, but the kishock sends them flying. -- To the topic at hand, I always found a no-CS HSol with Widow(+Harrier for those unfortunate situations) a beautiful combination. A double-tap from the Widow doesn't need Phasics to kill, which opens up room for grenade detonations, or you can take phasics for double kills with AR. This was one of my early platinum characters, the damage output is high enough that you can keep up with a good team, even if you're just starting out on platinum. With a high enough level Black Widow, a Warp IV Asari Adept can dish out insane levels of damage. At low levels, the weight/damage/etc makes her very difficult to balance to keep OSKs and Biotic Detonations, but once you hit that sweet point where you can OSK and keep the Biotic Booms flowing, she's a monster.

It's more powerful and offers tactical advantage with it's wallhack scope and more wallbanging capability, but BW is more universal and it can quickscope. Plus it has perfect sync with Cloak. Still I have a soft spot for Valiant. That sexy design, that lightweight, that reload speed And it was my first UR and my first Plat solo was with it

Maybe it happens with the BW, but I can't say I've ever noticed it.

The universality is why I voted for the BW, too. Also, on console the occassional autoaim confusion also plays. Javelin is second, though. After that probably the Valiant, but mine is only III so I'm not sure about its' full capability.

Only problem is bosses, but it has the fire rate to be solid against those, too.
