During the weekend I was playing on the PS4 when I suddenly heard something. The call of the chip in my head PS3 from its box. It said to me: "Look at yourself fam you playing Bloodborne, N.Sane Trilogy and sh*t, be really ashamed smh the leechers need you". So I got that weak crap out of my sight and fired ME3 up. I totally forgot the magic of playing with a KroLord with vanguard teammates, the sight of a sniping Krogan and the brave operatives who venture into battle without gel, so I quickly threw the game in the trash unretired myself. Oh yeah. I chose a sniper rifle and went right into town to shoot heads. Now I'm here, opening this topic so you can discuss sniping/sniping stories/sniping builds/everything sniping about this perfect game while it lasts. Only sniper rifle master race is admitted, shotgun weirdos, biotic freaks and others stay out, you are not welcome here. Some builds I played/I like/some other category I'm lazy to type: Classic OP GI to ventSniping Collector, what the enemy faction needs because they are weak afObligatory GE+MantisI hope one day I can trigger people who think they can kill the target of that slow ass KroLord or just to see if I can get into such a shitty lobby on Gold where I can topscore with thisAn Indra one because I never fully realized how awesome this gun is and I'll solo with it somedayYour thoughts? What did you use recently? What would you like to use? Unconventional build? Doesn't matter, as long as it has a sniper rifle.

Hipfire Kishock is good and I like the HSol double-shot Widow. However, these two styles don't suit the notion of a "Sniper's nest." Heck, even my Sal Engy is mobile.

You have not sniped in this game until you have Javelin Fury'd.
With that said, Drell Adept/Valiant remains my favorite sniping setup because of how much I love its lightweight and rapid reload. It just fits so well.

I looooove sniping in this game Valiant QFI focused on headshots and Widow QFI just for the sheer stopping power are my absolute most favourite setups - though SI performs better with single-shot SR, as ED opens up other ammo types than phasics. Other infiltrators I enjoy are the Viper GI (the RoF increase is a huge boost IMO) and the Raptor DAI (hard on your mouse, but hits a sweet spot on Gold for me). Among non-Infs, Kishock Vorcha Engineer is a blast to play; Valiant QFE is an interesting combo as well - balancing sniping distance with the traveling time of her powers is tricky. I almost never take the BW on gold anymore, but I found putting it on the Volus Sentinel to be an interesting challenge: no reliable staggering powers means going for headshots is pretty... challenging My two cents, if you set up a sniping nest and camp it throughout the match, you are missing out! Stick with your teammates, find good cover, knock down whatever is giving your team trouble, watch their flanks! You can show your camping prowess when you have to defend that hack!

For players that know how to snipe some set-ups are among the most OP in the game, GI with BW or Javelin or DAI with BW etc.
There are plenty of total try-hards running those combos in the game, guess they are so bad they need over the top OP boosts to avoid ending up last on the score board.
My favourite set-up is SI with CSR, Indra, Widow or Valiant on Platinum or SI/QFI with Kishock or Mantis on Gold.

If he didn't have either the Claymore or Venom permanently attached I'd throw it on him more often, but that requires a respec card and too much effort lol. With how annoying auto-aim can be at times on console, I'd rather just stick to shotties, ARs, or pistols on most kits sadly.

QFI/CSR with Disruptor isn't to bad either.

One of my regrets about the game that I never played DAI. I got it really early, when I knew nothing about the game and I can't use it well now as I never got around to it. My two cents, if you set up a sniping nest and camp it throughout the match, you are missing out! Stick with your teammates, find good cover, knock down whatever is giving your team trouble, watch their flanks! You can show your camping prowess when you have to defend that hack! I know, it's just a good name for a sniping topic, not really a reference to the playstyle. You can't camp for long with a sniper rifle in this game (at least not on console). Does this count as discussion? So dirty. Loving it.

Yeah, let's discuss how there's no way that you, Deerber, could've been the shooter here. There's no Claymore, and no trench coat Hahaha alright, guilty as charged, I guess. The truth is, when I still played this game a lot there were times in which I would feel the urge to try something different than the usual High Lord and trench coat... Just so I could look back after a few games and remind myself of just how much I loved those two things and how everything else paled in comparison

What to do when you can't hit anything smaller or faster than an Atlas with a sniper? Shoot the Atlas. This has gotten me through the sniper challenges with my main goto guy, the SI.
Personally I don't mind snipers, there are just other games where I find sniping more exiting. Still, ME3MP offer a good variety of rifles and they can be fun on a non-infiltrator.
I would recommend trying one on the Jugg if you got teammates that can keep you from being swarmed. Since the Jugg is not very mobile, it's nice to be able to pick off enemies at a distance, and the big tin can is a good all-round weapons platform.
I still need the Incisor challenge done but... no, not gonna happen.

It's never to late to give him a try tough Personally I started to use the DAI very late, not until I started putting some serious time into platinum soloing, he's one of my favorite kits, such speed and mobility and the ability to make every gun in the game good. The GI is better for team games and larger maps, but for solos on maps like White no other kit even comes close to the monster that is the DAI.

There's games where I love sniping (like Fallout, for example), and then there's games where I don't like sniping, like Mass Effect, for example. That said, I love the Salarian Infiltrator with Collector Sniper Rifle. Cloak, hit them with proximity mine, melt armour with incendiary, then finish them off with a Fire Explosion by Energy Draining them. The Javelin is cool too, I think I used to throw it on the Geth Infiltrator, shoot things through walls, fun. I love the Indra on the Turian Soldier. It's good on some other kits too. But in general, I'm just really a Pistol and Shotgun lover, so I personally prefer sniping with a Crusader. On a Krogan Sentinel, or a Female Quarian Infiltrator. Why would you throw Geth Scanner on a kit with Hunter mode? Do you toggle Hunter Mode?
