I went to see Rogue One in movie theater today. I haven't seen any of the other new Star Wars movies, just this one and I liked it. It was not perfect, but I'd give it 7/10.

Watched John Wick the other day, now that's a one long condom advertisement. Nice action and some funny moments there too. Also watched Dr Strange, which was pretty good, but nothing spectacular. Still worth the watch.

There are a lot of great movies out there but few match the opening of The wild bunch. Hmm the ending is somewhat special as well.

I went onto a Tom Hanks binge lately watched Sully, Bridge of Spies and Inferno. All surprisingly good movies I must say. Sully especially, I really enjoyed that movie. The companionship between two of the guys in that movie made me feel all mushy inside. I don't really remember a movie with Tom Hanks that I didn't enjoy though, so I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised.

The only major Coen Brothers film I've missed to date, would rank it as a close runner-up with Fargo. The main villain is one of the most terrifying antagonists I've seen, but has a set of principles to him that sets him a bit apart; At the very least, it's enough to wonder what makes a man tick like that. The scarce scenes he does have with other characters tend to have this subdued, chilling version of the Samuel Scene from Pulp Fiction, like a forgiving form of Predator Versus Prey. A bit like Pulp, the slow pace is drastically made up for by absorbing dialogue and memorable scenes. As for the rest of the characters, seemed like it shifts away from Coens' overtly quirky character roster - perhaps one can make characters interesting without being exceptionally weird? Tommy Lee's role is more a background character as the Quick Breather B-Story, but pays off well in a surprising way. Even though well acted, it's not *too* far off from what he's known for. As Roger Ebert once said in a Hunt For Red October review, it's typecasting without stereotyping. I love what they're doing with sound design during some of these chase scenes that avoids the philharmonic-orchestra-follows-you-as-the-killer-does mentality - absence makes the heart grow fonder, and likely beats faster as you're more sensitive to potential action if it hits. Reminds me a bit of Dark Souls, where ambience and well-placed audio pieces make up for a lack of enveloping melodies to spark a particular mood. Their use of framing these bright, gorgeous desert-based establishing shots reminds me a bit of There Will Be Blood, Breaking Bad, and Sicario; Probably your cup of tea if you enjoyed those, too. It's an exceptionally well-cut piece of film, and kicking myself for missing out on it all this time. A Witch Come TrueDial "X" for Xceptional------------- My Film Review Compendium

I just remembered this old movie scene. The casting was spot on with Cage and Connery complimenting each other very well. The Jedi have "Do. Or do not. There is no try". This is probably what they tell the Sith. Apparently Tarantino was brought in for rewrites.

Yeah, Ed Harris puts in a great performance perfectly cast as Hummel. It's well cast generally with good performances. The actors are good fits for their respective characters.
It's interesting as an action film as we have reluctant heroes and a reluctant villain almost at times trying to convince himself against his better judgement with his statements. It has a shades of gray morality vibe, who are the real villains?

Do you think Captain Kirrahe watches a lot of old Earth movie vids? BTW best supporting actor goes to the dog in this scene.

I saw this movie the other day i like this movie a lot but there is one particular scene that i do not like so much. And that is the scene where Bryce Dallas is standing in front of the T-Rex cage with a flare in her hand waving. She probably did not see the original Jurassic park movie where Jeff Goldblum is doing something similar haha.
