My next play through I'm romancing Peebee! I do like her romance, and you don't get ninja'd into it like can happen with Liara/Ash in ME1. The ninjamance with Ashley in ME1 was partially the reason I hated her.

Forums should be a place of free ranging conversation, within reason, as long as everyone continues to be nice to one another. Where did you get that from...? How is that on-topic? Because that's what I was basically saying and what most people understood. If you're somehow bothered by it, you're choosing to be so. Like the other guy said, people feel the need to argue over a dead horse than is ME3 by this point, the subject in particular, than MEA. K. People are still arguing over that shit? I didn't like it so I downloaded a mod for it. (It was the JAM mod if you are curious)

Ha! I was going to start a thread like this, happy to see one already exists, and fairly recent too! I just bought MEA. I waited out the storm, as I did with ME3 -- didn't buy ME3 until after Extended Cut and Citadel DLC had been out for a while, and in any case was blissfully ignorant of the whole kerfuffle. I also stayed pretty unspoiled for MEA -- just the Andromeda Initiative web site briefings to get the helmet and a few public statements about it being about 'sploration instead of war -- so coming to it pretty fresh. Definitely stayed away from any saltiness or whinging, which I gather was substantial. I just finished the first vault at Eos and ... I'm liking this game! It's not perfect and there are some quality of life things that could have been done to reduce some tedium, but so far, so good. I went with Sis Ryder and rocking the asian head customization -- and I have to say, she's one of the best character designs I've seen in any game. Fryda Wolff is doing an awesome job with the VA, too. And, I'm embarrassed to admit, the fan-service audio files of Scout Hardi ..., I mean, Liara talking gave me a bittersweet stab of nostalgia. It's also worth noting which game I just finished prior to starting MEA ... Horizon: Zero Dawn. That is a hard act to follow, and honestly I was pretty sure that any Action RPG I played after that game was going to pale in comparison, but so far, MEA is holding it's own. HZD is uncompromisingly open world, so I am feeling a bit constrained in MEA, but that's about the only HZD-influenced complaint I have so far.

Glad you'er enjoying it and you probably made a smart decision in waiting actually as the game's in far better condition now than at launch. The game does open up after you've done that first vault though so there's plenty to look forward to. Hope you like the Angara

Their loyalty really made them all grew for me. Also give it time: Me1 grew when you got on virmire-Ilos and when you put into account the next games that came. Tali became great on me2.

At this point, I'm gun shy... honestly wondering if you're trolling with sarcasm... It just seems a little over the top to me. Hopefully, you're right that it has a future. I'd like to see a sequel come out to progress this story further. Regardless, I know I've enjoyed it enough to keep replaying it for quite awhile yet. Otherwise, time will tell. I'm serious my friend. Trust me. I've played many bashed games and looking back, I had my doubts but they were amazing games. I started doubting MEA because everyone else did. But I love it. I formed my own opinion through experience. Too many times have I judged a game due to other people's opinion.

My first comment on the new boards! Anyway, I recently started my fourth (first female) Ryder. The game has rough edges for sure, but at this point I love it. I am not happy that we may not get any DLC, and I am definitely not happy with people who seem to get enjoyment out of that. MEA might lack polish in certain areas, but so did 1 and 3. ME2, my favorite game of the series as well as ever, even gets topped by Andromeda in a few ways. The loyalty missions in 2, much as I love them (as well as recruitment missions)did have the daddy issues...issue. In Andromeda there is more at stake in them than just personal problems with family members. We did get what they promised with this game, ME1 exploring but with more to do. Quality of those side quests varies, but at least we aren't looking for husks on Nodacrux.

]No, it really isn't. Andromeda is a soulless emulation of the things that made the original trilogy great. Ah, that reminds me of something I meant to say in my other post. I had zero expectations about this being any kind of successor to the MASS EFFECT TRILOGY[TM]. Which is why the Liara tapes were an unexpected surprise. I'm finding it pretty liberating to judge the game on it's own merits. Cherishing disappointment is exhausting. I'd rather just have fun in a more-or-less blissful ignorance.

I would have taken almost anyone. Shepard or Garrus would have been nice.

Arcian While I understand the fact that some people don't like the game (you included) while others do, you can at least try not to sound like a dick about it. Cause right now, you sound like another troll joining the hate-bandwagon and hasn't even played the game.

You saw the CC. It's up to us to riot and make a change cause nobody else will. I was disgusted at first but I saw the bigger picture. I wasn't gonna let the little problems destroy a game series that I love. I enjoy Mass Effect Andromeda and I want some dlc so I can enjoy it more.

I think Andromeda is a good foundation to build on and I love Fryda's acting, so I hope we get more in the future. I was thinking how people were calling the voice acting bad.... Have you heard of a game called, "The Town With No Name"? That game had some truly laughable voice acting. But agreed, at the very least, Andromeda is a solid foundation for sequel.

regarding the cringy dialogue and bad voice acting i see complaints about online: WHERE IS IT? 160 hours in left only with peebee loyalty and propably the last main mission and there is no such thing! Drack, Cora, Peebee, Vetra,Jaal, Ryder twins, gil ,Sam, Tan, Kesh, Addison, Lia, SUvi, Kallo , CASSANDRA , VIVVIENNE , all act great. The lies and misinformation regarding andromeda is staggering

I loved the game too and want more of it. I think too many people bashed it for not being enough like the original trilogy. But that was the point they weren't trying to make it like the originals. It is supposed to stand on its own. The writing is great and they left a lot of room for more great storytelling
