Yep. Go back to my posts in March. I saw the improvements over time, but it really took me some time to focus on the canvas itself. I saw a lot of work that went into the game post release. I also saw my initial investment eventually pay off in 92 hours. 30 of it was embarrassing and broken on the PS4. Patch 1.05, is when I bought the PC version for the new rig. I'm afraid it will make my current PC self-conscious. Besides the more I wait the more time I have to re-live Grunt's puberty test or every mission prior to the Thanix cannon sequence. The feel of clenched sphincter when you hear a Banshee scream or an Architect freaking arrives. I had to time to rerun my Inquisitor through the DLC and what made an above average game after five months of patching is pretty awesome. It earned GOTY with me. Too bad I didn't know about it. Solas! So... Yeah a lot of learning went on this past summer and spring. Oh yeah. It's well chronicled. The memes are truly forever. This ain't 8-track anymore. Barring the end times it will still be remembered as fact in hyperbolic fashion. I do think it's a game that a person has to take some time with to allow it to "grow" on them. The story is not one that instantly grabs people and it takes some time before one starts to see how all the little side quest pieces start to fit into the overall story arc... and a lot of gamers are just not used to taking it slow when progressing through a game. colfoley, way back when, started a thread where he described the character development in the game as a "slow burn" and I still think it's a great way to describe it. It took awhile for everything to start ot gel, but now that it has, I am far more invested in this game and with this crew than I ever was with Shepard and crew at the end of just ME1 and even well into ME2. its a bit surprising to me how right i was. I didn't care for the cast, especially the secondary cast that much, first time. But three pts in, like many things for me, it's now one of Biowares stronger casts. Just below inquisition and me 2.

I think I still have the right to say an opinion. I've just seen a topic that is about Jim Sterling talking about metacritic reviews and I've seen people debating if Dorian is a good character or not. You have that right. It's just that when you decend to insults is where there's a problem. Like I said, I didn't insult anyone except the gif guy, and the post was deleted faster than a mass relay.

I honestly miss how ME1 did ammo types. Yeah I would definitely rather have them as mods than consumables. On the one hand I didn't mind how ME 2 and ME 3 did ammo types but on the other hand some ammo types got locked into certain classes. So at the end of the day I think ME 1 handled ammo types the best. As a consumable I find myself only using them when I need them, but as a mod I abused the hell out of them in the OT. In late game with upgraded weapons I was mowing mooks down in the OT.

Well I think the cast of ME: A are more interesting than ME 1 Yeah, but I also take into consideration that the cast had the burden of explaining the universe... which is not so much one that has to be carried by Andromeda's Milky Way cast.

I will be honest I did not find Tali all the interesting until ME 2 when her character actually started to develop real personality traits and expressiveness. In ME 1 she was basically an audio documentary on quarian history and culture.

I kinda agree with the OP, my 2 cents: I'm kind of half-way through the game so far (I just 100%ed Havarl & Voeld) and I must say I really enjoy it, although I was worried when I started playing because of the whole controversy raging on. Fortunately enough I managed to avoid the shitstorm because I didn't want to get spoilered. I also avoided most of the actual bad stuff in the game because I didn't get to play the game until after patch 1.05 arrived and then I had to forcefully take another break until after patch 1.09 arrived. (laptop kept dying... maybe it was trying to tell me something/save me from the horrors?)
The jet pack is such a massive addition to the gameplay, I feel like the game is much faster paced and fluid now, although I also kind of feel like the dodge is very overpowered due to it being unlimited, especially against solo, slow, bullet-sponge enemies like the fiends/eirochs.
I'm also thinking the side quests have improved significantly compared to, say, DA:I. While there's still a few boring fetch quests there, they're balanced quite nicely with 'bigger' quests like Architect battles, activating the Vaults and taking down the major Kett bases on each planet.
The strike teams are also quite nice, but then that's more because I like to headcanon and imagine how those teams would interact. My first team eventually kept continuously failing their missions, resulting in a negative trait while my second team succeeded almost everything. I blamed it on my first team being fully human (they couldn't agree) and the second team being lead by a human/turian mix.
But there's still some issues I DON'T like so I wouldn't say it's 'awesome'. My personal opinion is stuck between 'good' and 'great'.

I remember fans asking why would Bioware sideline these squadmates from ME2 in ME3, suggesting that they'll all be there on the Normandy come ME3. My guess is that they they didn't have enough ideas for the trilogy to cover ME2.

On one of my playthroughs I'm romancing Vetra, but I am finding it super difficult to NOT romance Peebee. My first playthrough was intentionally going after the Matchmaker achievement in a single playthrough (and got it), so my Ryder flirted with everyone. He eventually settled on Cora, but really found it hard to turn down PeeBee's "with strings" proposal. I'm planning to be completely just into PeeBee this second time around... no flirting with anyone else. My third playthrough is going to be Vetra all the way... then I'll get around to doing a Sara playthrough... so much to do. Best of luck to ya.

Once I got 100% on all the planets, I had to go back to habitat 7. It just resulted in the planet being named after Ryder. I would've preferred going back onto the planet and explore it.
