It would have been cool if we got some bonus boss battle after defeating all the architects. Like an Architect Prime or something. Maybe the worm could have been the architect prime. Seems like a wasted opportunity. Good XP though. I would have liked it if we could seize control of the Architects and have them accompany us on the final mission along with the Remnant ships now that would have been cool. I can just imagine it seeing the Architects blasting down on the Kett. With Ryder screaming " This is true power" in true Harbinger style.

ProbeAway Ha! Thanks, I was a greyface for the longest time, good to know I picked a good one sjsharp2010 Yeah, on Voeld I completely forgot about the environment hazard at first, then wondered why Ryder was breathing so heavily then I desperately scrambled for shelter, lol.

I'l lbe going back to Voeld anyway to finish another quest so will probably do it then. Haven't done Kadara's or Elaaden's yet but that's only because I've only just unlocked those worlds and you need to take care of the vaults before you get the architect quests.

Lol I chased it around in the Nomad for a good 10 minutes thinking it would initiate a fight. Nope. Same here. No fight, just chasing.

For my first couple of tries at the architect on Voeld, I was hampered by an apparent bug in the hazard system there. The depletion of the life support bar can, sometimes, get inordinately accelerated (beyond even the normal Level 2 hazard). For example, I'm just starting Voeld again in my NG+ playthrough and I died twice from exposure running flat out with no missteps from the ship to the first heat lamp. Finally made it on that the third dash. On my first playthrough, my life support bar for the fight on the route down from the Main Resistance Base depleted so quickly that I literally had to try three time in order to finish the fight and start the conversation with the Angara scout. This time around, I'm finishing that fight (on a higher difficulty) with 3/4 of the life support bar left. On my previous playthrough, my life support bar completely disappeared after I got onto the sea ice at the bottom... and I could literally walk from Hjara to Techix without dying from exposure. This time around, I seem to have a normal "Level 1" reaction going on... I've just done the Staging a Rescue mission. So, bottomline, be aware, the Life Support thing can get really weird sometimes.

I loved them, however the one on Voeld was a pain in the ass. Damn straight. I hope it will be a lot easier on the new rig using a n52e game keypad and a gaming mouse. It was hard in a good way for me at least.

I liked them, specially that last one, but they could have used a little more variety. So good is it.

I liked the Architects. I'd like them even more, if it was possible to fight them with a blade, but on the other hand, it is nice to use the Black Widow now and then. Also, unlike dragons in DA:I, the Architects didn't limp or cry during the battle.

Also, unlike dragons in DA:I, the Architects didn't limp or cry during the battle. Oh yeah. I'm not PETA or a vegan, but my heart breaks a little when the dragons did that. The medic in me wants to stop and offer mercy. Then Iron Bull dies in a fire blast and then I say, "Dragon steaks coming up!" Yo, the Black Widow is my weapon of choice. I love hitting hard from afar. Nice screenshots!

The only thing I had to run fast for was the purification field once I'd activated it. I really struggle with Voeld's vault normally because you not only need to know/remember what consoles you need to hit but also do it fast which can be a real pain sometimes. Thankfully because I was able to take my time this time it was a lot easier.

I loved the design and the first couple of times in my first game was a pain, but since there's no variety in how they attack it gets kind of repetitive.

Thankfully because I was able to take my time this time it was a lot easier. Yeah... if only the bug worked the one way... that is, sporadically causing the life support bar to disappear. Unfortunately, there is the other downside of sometimes having it deplete faster than it should. If really wish I could figure what triggers the bug... I just re-landed on Voeld and, for the heck of it, tried the straight, beeline dash to the base again... and died before I could get to that first heat lamp. So, for now anyways, that section seems to be stuck on superfast mode despite leaving and re-entering the game.

It only really becomes a problem to me when dealing with the vault really as you can't focus on the problem because you'er in and old the shields trying to recharge all the time. It annoys me that vault because of that tbh. It's a bit strange really considering you don't have any of that in any of the other vaults. There's no heat hazards for example in Elaaden's vault for example so it felt a bit strange that there was in Voeld's with the cold

A lot of fun except for 3 things:
1. If you don't go to Eos first, the epic introduction looks stupid if you already fought one. 2. Crawlers spawn randomly and distract the fight sometimes on Eos. 3. If Jaal yells loudly in my ear to aim for its legs one more time, I'm shooting him in the legs!
I liked them a bit better than DAI's dragons though, because I had these bugs that were never fixed where I kept falling through the map when fighting them. Especially Cory's dragon.

I would use Blacklash to get close enough to the head, and when it was done firing at me, I would still have enough of my shields left, so I'd Charge it, then jump back and blast it with my AR.

Also, unlike dragons in DA:I, the Architects didn't limp or cry during the battle. Despite making me feel awful for killing them, I still prefer the dragon fights. My main issue with Architects is there's basically only one way to fight them. Biotics are useless - you need tech abilities to do any sort of power damage, and very few weapons hit hard enough to not make the fights last way longer than they should.
Also, dragon fight music is way better.
You can vanguard charge them right up their freaking face laser. THEY'RE THE BEST.Be careful with that. I was down to the third leg of the one on Elaaden, Charged at it, ended up in some chaotic in-between space, and the whole fight reset. Had to start over from the beginning.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Architects! Though not as immense in scope, it sort of reminded me of coming face-to-hologram with Sovereign. Or ME1's Thresher maws in my case. Nasty creatures Thresher maws in ME1 got to be dead easy after awhile... I had them down to a real science. I'll probably get there eventually with the architects too, but for now, they are a bit more challenging than the threshers. I like that they spawn numbers of the smaller remnant and at least move a couple of times. It would have been even cooler though if they made the movement phase more unpredictable (i.e. not just when you take down a leg)... i.e. made their behavior more random. In fairness though, I find the spawning and movement patterns of enemies in most games to be pretty predictable after awhile. In the Trilogy, it got to the pint where I was often aiming my SR at the spawn spot long before the enemy appeared.

Good but another half-baked feature like most of the game had.
Needed better variety, more story, Abyssal tease (stick in tiny hints or put it in the damn game itself, Bioware) only downplays any awesomeness of Architects, they should have all had epic intros since Eos is not a mandatory one, annoying if you miss scanning them for the side quest (I'd like a repeatable aspect, or a corpse I can always reach).
They're a nice start. I like nice starts and can respect them for that, but I don't love your game when that's the case.
SwobyJ Rating: 3/5! Easily could have been 4/5 with more polish.
They're just 'there' and I don't look forward to them in a playthrough, so that's all bad, but I do enjoy fighting them when I'm in the middle of it.

They're too repetitive.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Architects! Though not as immense in scope, it sort of reminded me of coming face-to-hologram with Sovereign. Yes! That feeling that you're not getting through this in any easy way. Sovereign's initial meeting still sends chills through my spine as does the first Architect.

I know the science. Get close enough for it not to go underground, but just out of reach that it can't impale the Mako. Once you found that groove, go left or right on the groove to avoid the acidic spit. The architect is a bit of a dance especially as an Engineer. After three rounds with the Black Widow, it's usually a good time to move for different cover. I get where people say it's repetitive, but holy cow... my butt clenches when they make their appearance. That's pretty good use of tension and mechanics.
