I thought everyone knew that the correct answer to 'how do you do?' was 'how do you do?'

Soccer and their fanatic idiot fans suck. Good thing I'm relatively anonymous here in the Internet, if I told that people on the street they would slay me and hang me on the next tree. People are really into soccer around here, not liking that sport is nearly considered an insult - and thats not an over exaggeration. I can totally understand your feelings since in my country soccer is holy! Anyone who doesn't worship it is considered an heretic!

THAT thing freaks me out...I love science stuff too, but something about the notion of "attempting to recreate the conditions of The Big Bang...." just seems like a really, really bad idea. I know all that metal and rock it's buried under is supposed to contain energy but...

Linkin Park should go back to their roots. That's actually a very popular opinion lol. That said, I thought Linkin Park's last album The Hunting Party was pretty fucking solid. Nothing like their roots, but still pretty damn good.

I also think small talk is bullshit. I was told last week by a Canadian, that if someone who's not a Finn asks "How are you?", you are supposed to answer that you are fine. Not tell them how you really are. Which in my eyes makes the whole question pointless. "It's just good manners" how is it good manners to ask how someone is if you don't truly wish to know. Boggles my mind. Yeah, I used to say that to my parents when I was 14. Now it's 40 years later and I still think the same. These days, when someone asks me, I answer with a grunt. Also, I think it doesn't lessen companionship if you don't talk much, but in fact, it can rather enhance it.

Grunt answers are always the best answers.
If asked how are you you should say whatever you wish. If a person is hot doing well they often don't want to discuss it. I'd say the Canadian and Finn part of the equation is not really part of the equation.

Also, I think it doesn't lessen companionship if you don't talk much, but in fact, it can rather enhance it. In my opinion, whether friendship or a romantic relationship, I know I've found a good match for myself (especially when it comes to foreigners) if both feel comfortable with being in same room and not saying more than few words in an hour or two. When I first encountered on voice chats and chat rooms when I started using the internet as a young boy, sure partially it was also shyness in regards to using non native language, but also back then already I had problems with the cultural differences regarding this topic. They don't seem to have gone completely away with age and exposure. I have no problems listening to people, I find people fascinating most of the time. Just don't expect me to hold up a conversation for long and actively without it becoming awkward. It's not part of the culture I was raised in.
