I was more questioning the recreational side of gun fascination, not the concept of a gun as a tool for defense. Though I could ask where do you live that personally defending yourself is a requirement that is reasonably expected to come up? And does your right go away if you don't own a gun? I don't mean to turn this into a big gun debate and I'm not anti-gun by any means but the idea some people claim, that it's unthinkable to not own a gun (not saying that's what you said, it just reminds me of it) I find strange. Oh didn't understand. Have no problem with recreational side - been to shooting range number of times for fun and know people who are hunters and collectors.
I live in a relatively safe suburban area so for me its a past personal safety that don't want to discuss. Now I just want to be prepared thats all- not fearful just prepared.
Its in the constitution so right is always there for now. And it's our heritage if that makes sense. In my town to get a permit we have to go through the normal state process but also a vetting by the police. 3 of your neighbors are interviewed and if just 1 objects you may not get the permit- didn't used to be like that. Course as of last year we have a law about registering assault weapons, except the legislatures don't know what that means so lots of gun owners are upset- nothing we can do for now.
I do wish I knew more about guns but then again I say that about nearly everything.
What about guns do you wish you knew more about? I could point you towards some YouTube channels that can teach you a lot if you want? |

The issue with pepper spray is that morons/criminals assault people with it, or spray themselves or their friends. You're just as likely to see someone mace someone to steal their stuff as you are to have a woman defend herself with it. Oh, and I recently discovered that it is illegal under the Geneva convention. So don't use it on a battlefield unless you want to be a war criminal. If they spray themselves or their friend... well they are fucking idiots and are responsible for it. If they assault people with it its a different case, it happens very rarely anyways where pepper sprays are legal and i would say the advantages would outweigh the negatives (for example women being able to defender herself from a rapist, all my female relatives in Poland carry one. It gives a fighting chance of getting out of a bad situation) Also damn i would never expect it to be illegal under Geneva convention.. I mean shooting a parachuter is as bad as pepper spraying someone eh. The Geneva Convention is a legal document, and like all other legal documents, it has strange loopholes and strange restrictions. i.e. hollow point rounds are banned. |

The two recommended channels I've watched a lot of. I trust their info and their opinions. The second and seventh channel on the list both teach classes. Unless you're sure you can do the class. I'd hold off on the classes the seventh channel teaches tho. They're no joke from what I hear. |

Ill be honest I took a day off on Friday just because I want nothing to do with it... took quite a lot of convincing for them to let me but it will be totally worth it... I just couldnt cope if its the things like what you see on YouTube videos... I think it really shows a bad side of humanity People getting injured and killed for the sake of saving money... it just isnt worth it I personally think Black Friday should be abolished as a thing... would be better... or maybe spread it across a month or something like that

I just refuse to give companies money on black Thursday/Friday. Mostly because of what they are doing to the holiday. My buying stops on Wednesday at 11:59 PM, and stars Saturday at 12:01 AM. Doesn't matter what sales I see.
Doesn't seem like it, but that is an unpopular opinion. Just based off sales on black Friday.
