Constructive Criticism of Andromeda.

Thanks!  Sidebar, is it helpful when posters tag you in stuff like this, or does it get annoying?  I've been trying to be helpful, but I don't want to overstep my bounds.  

I agree, it's horrible. I've even created a thread showing how many of the characters were actually bad copies from characters of previous games (SAM - EDI, Drack - Wrex, Vethra - Garrus). The only "good" copy was Peebee, which is more interesting than the copied character, Sera from DA:I. Dialogues are mostly uninteresting, something like "we must give people hope, hope is all we have", it looks like I'm watching a bad action movie full of cliches. The only character I can care so far is Peebee. The main story is very uninteresting

Edit: I just remembered something that made me laugh of so poorly written it is. On the first fight against the kett, Liam shouted "That creature doesn't seem to like me. Maybe because I shot it on the face!!". That was just so stupid I've never put Liam on my party again. It's a good example of why the dialogues seem to have been writen by a 12 year old. 

Combat is the strongest part of the game, but it's still worse than previous Mass Effects.

Exploration is one of the weakest parts. The Nomad is, without a doubt, the worst vehicle of all games. Mining resources became more boring than ever. Side quests are mostly boring, with a few interesting bosses (like Architect) on a few of them, but interesting stories? Not so much. There are even some dumb ones, where you have to "find" something that is like 6 feet away from the guy that gives you the quest.

Not to mention "small" issues that, when combines, add up to this game's huge failure: Bad and confusing menu design, a lot of technical issues on release, bad character creation, no facial expression, bad inventory management, etc.

At release, this game is a 4/10 at best.

I liked the Mako better. Believe it or not, I thought it handled better than the Nomad.

It also had guns.

The AI itself was extremely half-baked. If they deliberately went to Andromeda unprepared, then okay, but it should have been better spelled out, rather than left to a hint from a side quest at the very end.

Profiles were extremely awkward, and the cooldowns involved made them, frankly, not work changing unless you want to experiment with builds.

Three power limit is VERY restrictive for a "classless" system

Lore behind the ODSY drive and its development needs expansion. It's a revolutionary piece of tech that should have drastically changed the face of the Milky Way before the Reaper War even started.

Honestly didn't feel much like a Pathfinder. Half the worlds we landed on already had a human presence. Didn't feel much like I was "exploring"

While I did not mind SAM as a character, or as a link to Alec, did not like SAM being so integral to Ryder being the Pathfinder. Felt like an attempt to justify ME3's Synthesis. Or like Ryder was just a vehicle to get SAM (the true protagonist) to where it was needed. Would have preferred Ryder to succeed through his or her own merits, rather than being yet another super-soldier "Chosen One"

I agree. I like the concept of SAM and the story with him, but I don't like how involved he was. Instead of him saying pretty much everything, I would have vastly preferred the crew talking to us about those things. Lexi would speak when it came to biological things, Suvi when it came to other scientific things, and Gil when it came to mechanical things.

I thought they handled equally badly, myself. But I'm no fan of either.

As for guns, Mako combat was a bit dull, since the slow enemy weapons can't hit you. Funny how the Hammerhead made this even worse.

Man, the Mako could climb fucking mountains without having to change the "drive mode". This shitty nomad can't climb a fucking hill my REAL LIFE CAR COULD without changing to "climb mode"! And it doesn't even has guns, while the Mako had a gun and a cannon! It's like technology goes backwards on Mass Effect

The cannon sucks. Everything you kill with it delivers less XP. You're better off jumping out of the vehicle and killing things with your squad.
