Worth noting, during the earning call EA also revealed a new Battlefield in 2018,new Star Wars action game 2019 and of course there's Anthem........and yet zero info regarding Mass Effects because....."reasons"??????? They also didn't announce a new Dragon Age even though we know one is in development. Chill

Yes, and I thoroughly enjoyed the sequel so I am not sure of the relevance here.

If the game was a financial success then they would be getting ready for MEA 2 and many DLC’s but I don’t see any evidence for this. There is literally nothing to support your insinuation that there won't be a sequel or DLC. There's nothing to support there will be either yet so we don't know.

It's potentially a bad sign for those who were wanting another Mass Effect game in the near future, because without the studio that was making it we're not going to see work on one even begin until Montreal has been brought out of a support role. We're looking at 3-5 years before release once they actually start working on it. Also while it's standard to shift staff around after a launch, it's not as standard to shift the focus of an entire studio when they're coming off a game you're saying was a financial success. This isn't really a standard situation though - as has been pointed out, stuff like BF2 are EA's general priority at the moment and with MEA out the door, they now have a large group of highly experienced Frostbite 3-familiar devs freed up for tasking. As for whether it's a bad sign - tbh I'm not sure that's relevant. It's ultimately EA's decision whether to task the same or another studio to do any new ME game, it doesn't really matter whether the fans think its likely.

I saw this article this morning and was wondering when someone would cite it as truth. Brainless garbage exists because clickbait artists are well aware that the people they're pandering to literally do not apply any intelligence to anything they hear.

It was edited multiple times. That's why people say it's clickbait. Was was changed besides the title, which was edited soon after it was published? And even if we consider it clickbait, does it make it wrong? Because the article in the OP certainly has a clickbait title.

Diversity can kiss my ass. Bioware complied in spades by inserting copy carbon Asari. Money saving too, yay.... That group of clones in that one scene really accentuated it too. I'm not sure I'm comfortable calling it a AAA.

Haven't been here for a while. Anything new regarding MEA ? EA spoke in positive terms, though not overwhelmingly so, about MEA's contribution to the quarter. That's it. No news on DLC or content plans.

In EA’s financials, Mass Effect: Andromeda is held up as the title that drove the company’s financials last quarter, referenced multiple times as a significant factor in generating revenue. "Year-on-year growth was driven by the Mass Effect: Andromeda sales, captured in the quarter and by FIFA,” CFO Blake Jorgensen explains. “Digital net sales were $681 million, a new record for the first quarter, and up $113 million on the year-ago period. The increase reflects strength in live services, together with our mobile business. In addition, Mass Effect: Andromeda was a significant contributor. Full game PC and console downloads generated net sales of $111 million, 32% higher than last year. This was driven by Mass Effect: Andromeda sales captured in the quarter.” That’s three mentions of the RPG having a big sales impact on the business. While it’s difficult to tell if the game is a financial success, EA certainly seem to be suggesting as much. It’s more surprising that BioWare Montreal have been put on ice after release, then. www.pcgamesn.com/mass-effect-andromeda/mass-effect-andromeda-sales-numbers I like how the title states it's a financial success and the author then writes: All of that was pulled directly from the article. I decided it would be funny to capture that part too. God forbid anyone says anything positive about MEA. It's taboo it seems. PCgames for ya.

I'm a little surprised about one thing with MEA. I figured EA would milk it with microtransactions.

Yeah I want some as well I was iust pointing out that there's nothing to confirm that there will or won't be yet. Although I think we'll likely get confirmation soon given ew're about to head into August. Which to me will be the month of truth. If we don't hear anything by the end of August I'll pretty much accept that there likely won't be and that we'll just have to make do with MEA as it is.

I mean, considering how quick he was during the whole hoax fiasco. Technically this doesn't affect his article directly. I don't remember reading anywhere that he claimed MEA had been a financial failure. If DLC really had been cancelled when he says they were then it wouldn't have been anything to do with the game's financial performance as it was too early to tell. Of course the idea a company with EA's DLC track record would suddenly cancel all DLC just because of some so-so reviews and not even give it a chance to sell is a bit of a stretch.

"Yeah, I’ve actually changed the headline from ‘Downsized’ to ‘Scaled Down’ to make it clear that people were moved, not laid off." This is a post by Jason himself less than 20 minutes of the original creation of the topic. And it did report facts, there is very little interpretation. If you think the guy is lying that is a different story. But I think the article is neither clickbait nor subjective. Anyway, I wonder hwo many people are repeating the article was edited multiple times without actually knowing what was edited. All the while accusing the jorunalist of misinformation.

I don't remember reading anywhere that he claimed MEA had been a financial failure. That's because he didn't. Nothing so far contradicts anything he said. Quite the contrary, some people leaving and Casey Hudsom coming back support the scenario of major changes in Bioware.
