So why hasnt EA announced that MEA sales were an improvement over DAI? Or if it broke DAIs records? These arent details EA just stays mute on. "So it represents a fan base that's very passionate, looking for very particular things and many players found exactly what they're looking for and some players did not. With that said, we believe Mass Effect: Andromeda delivers a rich, deep experience, which celebrate what makes the franchise great: wonderful, beautiful, deep, rich world, amazing combat and engaging fast-paced multiplayer." "We're very happy with how Bioware is doing, how Bioware is treating Mass Effect. And our expectations for Mass Effect are still strong for the future and the franchise overall.” "And our expectations for Mass Effect are still strong for the future and the franchise overall." "We’re very happy with Bioware. Bioware has continued to support Mass Effect, and the new team is doing some amazing things, and you'll hear more about that in the months to come.” "We expect Q1 net sales to be $750million, up 10% year on year, driven by Mass Effect Andromeda, Battlefield 1 and Ultimate Team."
"Net sales for the quarter were $ 775 million, up $ 93 million on the prior year, and $ 25 million above our guidance. ... Year on year growth was driven by the Mass Effect: Andromeda sales captured in the quarter and by FIFA.""Digital net sales were $ 681 million, a new record for the first quarter, and up $ 113 million on the year ago period. The increase reflects strength in live services, together with our Mobile business. In addition, Mass Effect: Andromeda was a significant contributor. Digital sales now represent 63% of our business on a trailing twelve month basis compared to 56% in the prior year." "Full game PC and console downloads generated net sales of $111 million, 32% higher than last year. This was driven by Mass Effect: Andromeda sales captured in the quarter." Clearly voices of disappointment and mutism. Now as far as how many units were actually sold we don't know since EA isn't telling. You did however refer to a poster using above mentioned sources as proof of MEA bombing. I'm merely looking at those sources and what they actually tell us is that MEA did do as good or bad as all other Bioware games have done from ME2 and forward at least. The quotes above are all Andrew Wilson and Blake Jorgensen. Especially note the bolded wherein they got 25 million dollars more than expected - driven by MEA. But I'm sure you will ignore all this and in five minutes post again how all "proof" points to MEA bombing. None of that has anything to do with what was originally said though. Despite MEA clearly having turned a profit, though you'll note they only say that sales were driven by in it clearly did not constitute all of EA's sales, it has not been received even as well as DA:I.

I guess there's always room for more threads about it. You know what this place is like. Each topic has to have at least 3 threads about it, all saying the same things with the same people in them... I think this is significant information so I created this topic to inform as much people as possible. Is this wrong?

But hey, there's a reason I ain't a mod. As long as they're happy, you're good.

Well, confirmed at last. Seems that Edmonton has the ME franchise now. So we will pick it up in 6 or so years then. Yes, it will be a long wait

Someone on Twitter: Is there any chance of an Xbox One X patch for Mass Effect Andromeda? Ian S. Frazier: No idea, sorry. I'm no longer with BioWare, but you could ask someone in Edmonton. So Frazier is no longer with Bioware and questions about Andromeda are answering folks at Edmonton. Interesting. I think Montreal is really dead. Ah. So Ian's left BioWare Montreal for Motive? I wonder what that means for Yannick Roy? Wow. Even if the BioWare website still has Montreal as a studio there's no one left working there.

I don't care if it's Bioware Zimbabwe. I just want Quarian sp DLC so I can assuage my guilt over inadvertantly causing Tali's suicide and the obliteration of the Quarians during my first playthrough of Me:3

Meh, or he could just mean someone like Mike Gamble, who was always at Edmonton, as far as I know. The question is not whether ME is in Edmonton again or not, but whether it's really been shelved or not, because if it hasn't then it couldn't be anywhere else, unless Austin had a dramatic repurpose in motion.

There is every chance that I'm giving the guy too much credit and expecting him to be clearer then journalism realistically is, I'm not denying that one. That's kind of what I was getting at - I dislike emotive articles and rather would just be told what is going on. If a merger was going on, then I would have preferred he explained just that - it would have certainly explained his insistence that no DLC was coming.

That's because EA was... happy with Andromeda.

Well imo he bad news is that ME is essentially shelved for longer than many might like. The good news is that Casey Hudson is in charge in Edmonton and there is a better chance of the franchise not being totally dumpstered with him there.

Yeah. Anyone who thinks the BSN is upset with ME:A should have seen it on March 6th 2012. Dozens of threads about the endings were created every second. I don't think I have ever seen a forum move that fast or that angrily. No game will ever be able to top that reception. What MEA got was tame by comparison. Hell, even with that mess it got dlc. I thought DA2's reception was a bit worse, actually. I remember guys spamming the forum with threads whose titles spoiled every plot point in the game. -- still not sure exactly who they thought they were hurting with that -- posts which contained nothing but a pic of someone defecating, and other things of that nature. And even the positive posts were along the lines of "it's actually OK." ME3 reminded me more of NWN. While the OC was broadly hated, the game had other redeeming features. Still, there were calls to fire the entire writing staff and re-hire the people who wrote BG2. The same people, of course; fans weren't any smarter back then.

And considering that the games above MEA also didnt have their digital scores factored in, that pretty much offsets that argument. Also, Horizon was only on one console.... Okay...... they're still unreliable and EA said that they're happy with ME: A. Yeah, I was happy that I passed a class with a C+ but I really wanted an A.

But I'm sure you will ignore all this and in five minutes post again how all "proof" points to MEA bombing. And yet NOWHERE in there does EA say that MEA surpassed the records or sales of DAI. MEA could be a contributing factor of how and why EA did good in a quarter, but that doesnt mean it sold more than DAI. Oh, and I never said DAI was a sales failure. I only said that it didnt sell as much as Witcher 3 did and I also said that DAI's sales success had a lot to do with the fact that it was the first "next gen" Bioware game and thus was a novelty. So I say again, If MEA sold more than DAI and toppled its records, why wouldn't EA say that? Saying MEA tops DAIs sales, a 2014 GOTY, is a stronger statement than it being a contributing factor in sales because it is already obvious that a brand such as ME would be a contributing factor, but what MORE did it do? DAI was also a contributing factor in sales but EA didnt stop there, they went on to highlight that DAI wad the fastest selling Bioware game ever. How come EA didnt offer any further praise to MEA the same way they did with DAI? Nice try though. You get a C+ for effort:)
