ME3MP Favorites - In Memory of Corey Gaspur

Hmm, I'll need to respec my Havoc to do just that. Gotta make sure we pay tribute exactly as Corey would have intended.

Since i couldn't find the usual suspects online today, i dedicate one my old solo with havoc to Corey.

Haha! Many of us in QA kept a collection just in case but, it just never came to fruition. That one, sadly, was caught prior to it getting into the build though.

Exactly where I went with it as well.

Hard to pick just one so I'll pick one of the more memorable moments that usually rises to the top. I'm sure I've told this story before to this crowd but onward we go.

At the time I had finished BOTB months ago and was trying new things simply for the fun of it. One of the things I did was get seriously into Volus. Still amongst my favourite kits. Was on a volus sentinel in a plat/glacier against IIRC Reapers. My mic hasn't worked since demo and at that point I didn't have textchat enabled. Well this cute sounding girl comes on after I heroically ressed her amidst chaos and ruin, "my volus hero!".

After that I naturally had to step up the tempo. She was on with a guy that had a southern-US accent; he chirps in, "thaat is tha most awggressive vawlus I 'ave evar scene!"

I couldn't talk back but through non-verbal communication I think I managed to get the gist of, "thank you/you're welcome" across.

This game was fun in and by itself. I'm not a completionist, but goals certainly do help most games along. Finish quest A, murder guy B, get phat loots. Reach higher lvl, acquire new skills.

 had some goals along the way; but along the way I realized I wasn't playing for those goals. They were trivial, the thing I liked about the game was just playing the damn game.

I still remember thinking I'd never get my manifest maxed. Yet there's a reason I've likened this game to the hot ex that keeps drunk-dialing you that you just can't say no too. It keeps me coming back.

Very sad to learn of Corey Gaspur's passing. My deepest condolences to the family, close ones, and to everyone who knew him.

Never could, never will be, able to single out a moment out of the thousands of hours (still counting too) of my ME experience. I ain't good with words in the first place really so any such attempts undoubteldly end up my usual incomprehensible pile of words size of an encyclopedia tome. But i say those thousands of hours, those all are my special ME moments, all of them. And i know and will remember that Corey Gaspur was there (not alone of course) to share the vision, to influence, to shape, and to make ME3MP (and all of the Mass Effect) what it is, so special, and so important not only to me but to all of us.

Our community tribute event is a very fitting idea will be colouring my Havoc accordingly

P.S. Not sure if that's the blog post had been updated, or if i have overlooked initially, there's a fundraiser to support Corey's son Cain going

Thank you for your work on ME3MP Corey. Without this game, I wouldn't have those idiots on my PSN friend list (and that very special weirdo on Steam) who can tolerate me, talk to me, buy and play all kinds of different games with me every single day. I can't imagine how my gaming life would look like today if you, and many of your colleagues didn't put your hearts and souls into ME3MP. I have many good memories of playing the game, but the most important thing it gave me are my online friends that have been making my days a lot happier for almost three years. It's crazy to think that without this game, I would've never met those guys. The best part of ME3MP was that it somehow brought people together like no other game did. It was fresh, unique and unexpected, and it spawned a hardcore community that I've been privileged to have been part of. ME3MP was a magical journey that I will never experience in my life ever again.

Thank you Corey Gaspur for being a part of its creation. You'll forever be in our hearts.

I can't take part in any weekend tribute event 'cuz of travel, so here's a glorious green and black Turian Havoc that I dedicate to Corey. Thanks for thousands of hours of turian fun

Out of curiosity, anybody at BioWare ever manage to save some pre-release builds of the Mass Effect series? Particularly of ME1 since there's so much footage on how much it changed. Or at least some more video footage.
