Why is this thread still going anyway? What is actually being discussed? Do the men that post these threads actually think through what they are saying about themselves and other men? This stuff baffles me to be honest. It's hard to say. The OP's spent his entire career on this board discussing sexual politics of one kind or another. Typically it's about how Bio needs to be sensitive to the poor sexists in the fanbase, sometimes it's about how feminism or some such is too restrictive a design approach, sometimes it's just a cri de coeur about how feminism has taken the joy out of life or something of that nature. This can lead to amusing incoherence when he muddles the points; apparently devs need to be simultaneously confined and liberated, depending on which sentence you're reading. Either it's high-class trolling of a kind we almost never see here, or he's completely sincere. I find the latter possibility sad, so I discount it pending further evidence. |

And that BW could have avoided a lot of its current problems by making at least one female more traditionally attractive? ... In short, no. Many of the small numbers of people who took issue with the female characters in DAI were being asses about it. BioWare correctly did what they wanted to do with female characters in MEA (who look fine to me). The folk hating on BioWare for being 'SJW's weren't going to be satisfied anyway, the greater issue is that the animation issues provided meme ammunition. I disagree, but fair enough. I do agree, though, that the animations were the primary cause. |

That's not for puritanical reasons, it's for verisimilitude. I would like to see the characters clothes-free for sexy time or if the plot demands it. The final challenge for the Urn of Sacred Ashes was not authentic in my view (off with their kit), but what do I know. Back to appearance, looking good is important, looking fitting is better and non-plot-relevant titillation is immersion breaking. Plot-relevant titillation is fine. (more Dragon Age appropriate, but we've been discussing both franchises...  ) |

What are you even talking about? Bioware turned Maxim (ME1-3) into Cosmo (MEA). Look at your cute huggy icon. That's Cosmo, not Maxim. That soft, touchy-feely tone doesn't appeal to most men. So while I like me some sexy mods from time to time this discussion is disgusting. Beauty is not the most important thing in this world. Everyone men included loose their looks as they age. The true beauty is inside not out. I'm disappointed that this line of thinking is coming back. I used some beauty mods in TES simply because they aren't good at making either men or women look good. However tv and movies caught on that beauty comes in all shapes I'm glad games are following suit.
