Anthem doesn't appear to be the game setting that I would normally go for, and that's really what's bugging me about it. Visually it seems to be one of those mixes of games where I am happy to give it a miss. DnD. Totally can get behind. All fantasy, can throw me a Tarrasque, Tiamat, Slimes, Cubes, Elves, Drow, Teleportation Spells, Fireballs, I totally get it and accept it. Mass Effect. Totally can get behind. Space Magic, Reapers, Remnant, Krogan, Asari, Biotics, Medigel, Omnigel, M7 Lancer, M8 Avengers, M-920 Cain, Thanix Cannons, rogue AI, I totally get it and accept it. Anthem? Currently seems like one of those... I don't know where it fits. Seems like it should be Mass Effect lines, but what I've seen so far, reminds me of settings like have mixture of things. And for me (personally), it just doesn't accept it easily or well. So I always just avoid such games. So likely the outcome for me unless I get more info on Anthem that appeals to me. I agree with all of this. However, and this is totes the gamer kid in me, but I rather enjoy the thought of flying around in that suit and actually exploring... If it is done well, I will play it for that novelty alone. |

Is every studio going to hit a homerun every single game? Of course not.
Those who understand WHY MEA fell flat, won't hold that against the main studio who didn't work on the game. 1 dud is bound to happen to every studio eventually.

I have liked all of the last seven games of their post EA franchise save for Inquisition, as well as SWTOR, and nothing else is really made to suit my tastes on the gaming market.I am not sure what to make of Anthem, but I hope for a more traditional new franchise or a Jade Empire revival/remaster/reboot. DA4 I probably will buy on sale, unless it resembles Andromeda or ME2/DA2 more than Inquisition. Overall, nothing out there for me but Bio so far.

Unacceptabru! Only way I'd buy Anthem is if my friends bought it and convinced me to play (pretty much what happened with ME:A). Dragon Age 4, on the other hand, I'll almost certainly buy, but after lessons learned from Inquisition, I'm gonna wait for a sale on that one. Btw, I just bought DS1, and spent 45 minutes configuring DSfix and DSIC KB+M input fix, and then designing a face worse than Gundyr. Somehow, in spite of the graphical improvements in DS3, all attempts at pretty waifu in either game end up looking exactly the same... Maybe I need to be burnt twice to finally learn my lesson. The price for missing out on Inquisition, I guess. Oh, we're talking Dark Souls. Excellent. Have you loaded the hi-res texture packs for a waifu that looks like every other waifu but more hi-res? But fret not, Dark Souls 1 actually has something similar to a paper bag.  ^ Totally bangable now.  Wasn't aware of that, thanks for the tip. |

I only bought the 4 ME games from Bioware so, considering this was the final one (or at least for a very long time), I'd say yeah.
I've tried Dragon Age Origins (it was given for free on Origin) cause it was a Bioware game, it felt like a Bioware game, but I didn't like the combat system.
Same deal with Kotor sadly, I don't mind older graphics, but to enjoy a game I must enjoy gameplay.

If anything they churn out caters to my (lack of) taste in games, I'll likely give it a go.

I have yet to be disappointed by a Bioware game so I will definitely be in line for the next one. DA4 is a guaranteed buy and Anthem is, well I am excited by the possibility of Anthem. All we have is a heavily choreographed seven minute video so I need to see more before I decide but I would bet there is enough to it that I'll be getting that one too.

One thing Anthem has going for it is that it's a new IP and not another strictly by the number corporate churned milk entertainment product.
On a personal level I'm a sci-fi fan and will once again put my faith in Casey Hudson to deliver in this area as he always has. Corey Gaspur worked on this game's gameplay and it really looks like the baby of ME3 gameplay excellence. Drew Karpyshyn is also back into the fold.

You may be right about what you say. ..but you are very wrong about MEA being a dud. It wasn`t a dud. It was just incomplete game that should have never been released into the market. I have no issue with people abusing bioware, their games have been fading for a while for a number of reasons but the whole 'I am never buying' thing has been going on for years and some of the biggest serial beefers still buy the damn games and then lament that they bought them. |
