The merge studios, no DLC route. Everything else is wrong. Anyways, the OP wants to get this thread back on track. Let's talk about the next ME starring a brand new protagonist. ...I kinda thought we were. *shrugs.* I mean debating the idea of whether we need a new protagonist or not is closely tied to the debate of whether the last one sucked or not. If the last one sucked then we do, if not, we don't. And the best and most closest comparison that Ryder has, you know to contrast with Ryder, is Shepard. To debate what worked well and what may not have worked well in order to again answer the key question of the thread. IE do we need a new protag. I don't think we did, and both of my posts are the evidence I use to that effect. The last one sucked and we do need a new one. The next ME will be much better without amoeba.

Allow me to rebutt: 1. Ryder is a better character because his RP options are better. I can control his personality with far greater precision then I ever could Shepard. If that's the case, why can't my Ryder get in the stowaway's face for knocking him/her to the ground? Why can't he/she give the stowaway an earful for the crap she pulled with the escape pod? Why can't my Ryder shoot 4 letter words back at the ones who tell her/him off? Ryder comes across as a wimp who can't stand up for him/herself. Because BioWare made all the companions vital to the plot, which is something they have been complaining about not doing in the fast. I am not saying Andromeda is perfect. by no means is any RPG perfect in this regard. I am just saying it is better then Shepard's. Because I could not under any circumstances give Shepard a sense of humor. You want your Ryder to be an angry cummageon who throws people out the airlock for the slightest offense, I wanted my Shepard to have a sense of humor. We can't all get what we want.

As far as the voice acting is concerned I could see this argument with Fryda Wolf. Granted I found her quite awesome but some of her lines did come off as being a bit 'meh. But Tom Taylorson? First of all for the first time in a BW game the male voice protagonist > the female voice. Fryda rulz. Tom droolz. PS: Why are you wasting time on trolls?

Because BioWare made all the companions vital to the plot, which is something they have been complaining about not doing in the fast. So they made Ryder a doormat for everyone to walk on? Have I said I wanted my Ryder to throw people out the airlock for any offense? I've said my Ryder would hand the stowaway over to Nexus security to let her explain why she used Initiative property for her personal mission while putting the pathfinder and another squadmate in danger. I have said that I would leave her on the planet and my Shepard would throw the thing in the lava. With the cop, I would shoot him dead where he stands. My Ryder would hand him over to Nexus security to let him explain why he did what he did.

Seeing as ME:A ripped off the Forerunners with those cheap knock-offs (thanks to Supermac). I would say do a rewrite of ME:A (and this time, no cheap knock offs. M'kay!).

Honestly, I think it's better in the long run if BW shelves ME for 10+ years and focuses on newer, fresher IPs. Try some new genres, maybe a RTS, a FPS, or even an RPG sports game. Rehashing old franchises gets, well, old. Come back to them later when the tech is more advanced.

Because of all the vastly different outcomes that have to be accounted for. Not just what ending was chosen, but also things like the fate of the geth, krogan, quarians, rachni, etc. Not saying it is impossible, but it would be a huge challenge. It wouldn't that huge of a challenge. Bioware can ignore choices like they did in the trilogy. The other thing is the guy did say the details have changed over time. That could be anything within the trilogy. With the geth, I would have it where they're always destroyed. If it wasn't for the reaper interference, the quarians would have defeated them.

I have yet to experience Tom's.

man we must have played two different Shepards..... We all must have because as much as I love my Sheps funny they ain't. Indeed I don't think I found my Shep particularly funny or light hearted either the only time they come remotely close is during the Citadel DLC and even then it wasn't really that convincing. Whereas for me Ryder had that aspect nailed and because of that to me they instantly felt a likeable character I liked the fact that no matter what Heleus threw at them during the story Rydre always tried to keep a smile on their face and get the job done no matter what it tookb and for me I think that's what won a lot of people over in the AI and the reason they were given their chance to prove themselves

Meer's voice work for Shepard is a little flat at times, but it does fit the character as I imagine him. And his voice work is one of the things that completely sells the Tali romance. He did a great job on that part of the story. I hear it's the same with Sheploo and Jack as well. In this case, though, BioWare had two VA's do two completely different playable characters and I think they were amazing at it. They totally sold the brother and sister aspect of their characters. I thought that added to the ME:A story quite a bit.

ME1/ME2 had me in stitches, Shepard had some of the best deadpan and troll humor I've ever seen in a game. Much better than Ryder's tryhard sense of humor

Hale & Meer both did the exact same character, Fryda & Tom did 2 different characters, both of which would have a presence in every playthrough.

If not then i need to learn how
