Mass Effect: Andromeda news coverage [post-release] covering new evidence for/against DLC happening, financial information concerning digital sales, Andromeda novel releases, insight into the background of Reyes Vidal, etc.
Do you think there will be DLC? What would you want to see in it if it were to happen? Or, do you think BioWare should instead focus on a follow up game?

I think there will be DLC at some point, kind of bad if a triple A title doesn't get one if you ask me, especially a ME title, to big if a franchise to not do it. Don't particularly care what it is as I probably won't be back to play it ✌️Interest has already been lost with first impressions of said game.
As for a follow up title, I think they're better off waiting it out till Anthem and DA4 have hit shelves before even starting pre-production, gives the fanbase time and gives bioware time to dedicate themselves to it through and through next time and they won't have the other titles looming over ME.

Like stated in the video, the patching schedule I think will impact DLC release dates more than anything so, in this game's case, i don't know if the normal rules apply. It appears that patch 1.09 in July is where the game became the most "complete" in my opinion so, speculating with the haphazard development of this game and the fact that the final comic in the "Mass Effect Discovery" series, which relates to the Quarian involvement in the Andromeda Initiative, got pushed back to the end of October after its initial August release, I wouldn't be surprised to see the the first SP DLC is released on Tuesday, Nov 7th, N7 Day and almost the 10th anniversary of the franchise (Nov 16th, 2007)

How long has it been since a patch came out? Patch 1.10 was released July 31st, but it was made up almost entirely of MP changes. The last significant SP patch was 1.09 released in early July.

With BioWare Montreal no longer existing, the likelihood of SP DLC for MEA is almost 0%. Who would even be working on it?
BioWare Austin is busy with SWTOR, and BioWare Edmonton is busy with Anthem and DA4. I know folks are desperate to hang on to that last thread of hope, but the writing is on the wall.
The only reason MP continues to get support is because EA didn't dissolve the post-launch MP team for MEA. If anything comes N7 Day, it will be new MP content for MEA.

I have to agree, even though I would like to see SP DLC. There just isn't a team to work on it unless they are pulling people from other teams. But wouldn't it make more sense to have the original team who are familiar with everything make it? Also I think they would be teasing more to keep some excitement up. Or at least saying, "we're not done yet. we're going to keep supporting MEA." The silent treatment is the same method used regarding the CC and M/M romance content prior to release when people kept asking about those. Would love to be wrong of course.

I'm hoping for DLC, but as to whether or not it will actually happen is still up to BW/EA. If it does happen, I would assume the people at Edmonton would handle it as they are now handling patches. It's also possible that Motive could break a group of people at the core of ME:A off for DLC work. Also, I would assume any DLC plans would be halted until the patching process has brought the game up to a launch standard (which I think v1.09 has) and my gut tells me that the extensive patching process that ME:A went through to bring it up to snuff would almost inevitable delay any and all potential DLC launches much like the EC did with ME3's DLC launch schedule, although to much greater effect.

MEA is a BioWare Montreal creation. BioWare Edmonton was not the principal developer, and I don't see BioWare taking folks off of Anthem or DA4 to do DLC for a game they didn't create. Really, BioWare would probably rather sweep MEA under the rug and forget about it. The damage is already done and there really isn't much of a reason for BioWare to give CPR to a game that's essentially dead.

I don't know about others but I'm not "desperate to hang on to that last thread of hope". I'm on a message board and it's entirely speculation. What else is there to talk about? Have you seen some of the threads still active on this page alone? No thanks.
You know what happens if there is no SP DLC? I'll play something else.

This is a case where pessimism is warranted, in my opinion. Expect nothing, that way if something actually does come out it'll be a pleasant surprise.

Lol I'm not sure that's the best analogy, given that they added more CC options and another M/M romance.

I really think it is unfortunate if there is no DLC. Really does fans a disservice IMO, and potentially damages the franchise's future. If they can't commit to a dlc then it makes me less inclined to commit to the franchise.
Will there be any further Patches? I want to be able to play a run where I can read all the info without squinting so am hoping for an option to enlarge font. I had read somewhere that enlarging the font was being considered.

If they don't do DLC, I suspect it's because they aren't committed to the IP's future. I fear that the IP may not have a foreseeable future. Maybe they revisit it well down the road? I love this game, but it's still riddled with significant bugs. Some of these bugs have been caused by their patches. I'm curious to see how many are ultimately resolved. BioFan, thanks for the timely thread. I've found the offerings in this subforum dreadful, of late.
