I was merely comparing the reception not necessarily which was better.

Whenever Mass Effect returns (it will return, but it will likely be five years), I seriously doubt it will be another reboot. For one, that would be silly and merely risk having another stumble by trying to do something new. Secondly, I don't believe most necessarily had an issue with the story, the characters, the setting, or the gameplay. Andromeda's faults were largely technical and had nothing to do with the content, itself.

It would be far easier and make more sense to just continue off the foundation that BioWare Montreal started. Obviously, BioWare Edmonton would want to make sure they release something incredibly polished, so that they can immediately silence any would-be detractors and trolls. Regardless of Andromeda's mediocre reception, BioWare still has a great reputation in the industry. If they release a polished, quality Mass Effect game, most critics and fans would be happy and rate it highly.

Sorry to say it folks, but the writing was on the wall. Looks like we'll have to find out what happened to the Quarian Ark in the comics/novels. That's really disappointing, but not surprising.

Wow...looks like that's a wrap....a bit puzzling with the way EA stated how Andromeda contributed to it's strong fiscal year numbers....meh who knows maybe the game couldn't overcome the initial onslaught of criticism in the beginning. 

It's not doom or gloom tho....just now the focus is on Anthem, and maybe for the next outing the Edmonton crew can take a crack at the next game and hopefully Bioware will have some writers that are up to the task of writing a more compelling and interesting story and characters. I didn't care for DLC..(i hate downloads)...but i thought Andromeda would have at least received the Quarian DLC......oh well...

The world will still turn but they really need a hit with "Anthem". DA:I with it being GOTY have them some serious momentum as a studio in 2015 so, to have this 180 was a shock to the system.

EA didn't outright lie. Andromeda still sold a few million copies. It just didn't sell the expected three million copies EA and BioWare were expecting in its first week... It was a mediocre hit, but not a financial flop. It didn't do what was expected of the brand, thus EA shuttered the studio as a result. BioWare Montreal's closing, to be quite honest, was far more evidence of Andromeda's fate than anything that BioWare or EA stated publicly.

They likely weren't allowed to say anything publicly until it got cleared. Basically an embargo on the announcement. 

I expect a healthy helping of crow eaten from everyone who refused to see the signs of the inevitable
