Do you think they planned to tease the Quarian Ark and only give us comics and books? Did they think a gaming community would rather read a 8 dollar book instead of pay 15 for playable content? Maybe I'm just weird, but I would rather play it! The hamfisted hints at the end of the game made me sure there's already a DLC close to it's release date. The only reason why, despite the poor reception of the game, I was sure we would get at least that one. I never would have imagined this to be down to books or MP content. That's really on the lines of flipping SP players the middle finger. They're flipping everyone the middle finger. MP is done too. The only reason MP is still getting content is because that content is done and on disc, and is only locked behind a time release for the drip feed schedule.

No, they said in the blog post they always planned to continue the story via APEX missions. The author of the quarian ark book also knew in advance her book would wrap up the quarian plot. MEA SP DLC was never planned. The reception had nothing to do with it. According to the Jason S Kotaku article, they did have dlc in mind but due to the reception, EA canned it and decided to finish using MP and novels. There is a reason why the remaining novels were delayed.

Because of this DA4 will be the first BW game that I won't get at Day-1 and that I'm going to buy only when I'll be sure that every single piece of the SP story is included in the game or at least has been added via DLC and not through a ******** book. Anthem is out first, will you be getting that on day 1? I didn't even consider to buy it. I'll leave "social games" to people who have a lot of friends to play games with

People need to stop acting like animations was the only thing wrong with the game. Put MEA in the rear view mirror and hope DA4 is better. I am in agreement. However, going forward... I'm not pre-ordering and waiting it out at least six months. I'm not cheap with money, I'm just stingy with my time.

Neither did any of us here all summer except Schreier, Suikoden and MajesticJazz. That's a brilliant con you know... A book in 2017 is going to wrap up a game that was made in Frostbite? Hahahahahahaha. I hate EA.

It didn't help matters, certainly, but at it's root, this is all falls on Bioware Montreal and the studio's poor project management. Andromeda had a tonne of potential that was ultimately squandered, and all the best efforts to course correct in the final stretch couldn't right the ship entirely. I enjoyed the game well enough, but it isn't difficult to imagine what an outstanding game it could have been had the development, marketing and eventual release not been so wrought with drama. Had the game been released in a state closer to the 1.10 patch version, it would likely have been better received, but ultimately, had the studio not suffered for so long under poor leadership, we would likely have gotten DLC, or at the very least, a more optimistic outlook for the franchise on the whole. Closing studios, book tie-ins ( especially book tie-ins) don't happen overnight--these plans had to have been in motion for a while. I seem to recall one of the Doctors (or maybe even Mike Laidlaw?)saying a long time ago that EA is the kind over overseer who will give you enough rope to hang yourself with. I think that's never been more evident than with MEA. EVEN IF BIOWARE BLEW IT DURING PRODUCTION... EA, the Publisher, should've stepped in and protected their IP-valued franchise. Time was the only necessary element needed and the investors (who are already wealthy and know the risks of investing... DERP... should've realized that protecting their franchise is worth more than a quarterly earnings report. Sorry... that's ridiculous and all those corporate drones that say trust is important... you're right. Trust between the customer and the publisher is very important... just as important as the studio needs the trust and support of their investors and publisher.) I'm done with EA. It wasn't the cancellation of the DLC that really pissed me off. I was disappointed. No... it's EA's incredibly bad marketing and PR stunts. Everyone and their mother is making profitable clicks knocking EA... there is a real, common sense reason for it that doesn't need a psychologist to explain: EA doesn't give a crap about anyone and they will lie to your face to empty your wallets. OMG I'm so angry. Hurricane Harvey just extended my inspection cycle into early February.

The summer sucked. You missed a hoax which was seriously debunked by the unofficial forums (no one gave us credit. I'm fixing that crap come January... it's old news, but relevant to us.) but you also missed EA's middle finger to Andromeda fans. I hate EA.

I had an horrible summer IRL and I took a break from gaming and everything else. But from time to time I came here to read the news and check out the situation. Just didn't feel like talking On topic again, I totally agree: I believe that with Andromeda EA has hit a new low. I never saw so many wrong decisions about a game all at once. They were able to piss everybody in multiple ways, from the beginning to the ending. And the final decision about the DLC is truly their masterpiece. Well, I think that in the end I'll never start that new playthrough that I had planned to begin after DLC was released. I have no reason to do it.
