my positive : The new galaxy map theme was just as emotional and epic as the old one. I really had zero faith that they could pull this off. they did! I cannot choose between the 2 myself!

The thing I liked about both Drack and Alec was the fact that they were both no BS warriors/butt kickers. Most of the other characters were to mamby pamby for me in comparison. I will say, that Bioware did a pretty good job on keeping the Krogan pretty much spot on in their overall demeanor through all four games. I feel Bioware always nails the krogan squadmates. I felt the other characters were fine. Like I said though, to each their own. Drack is the first Krogan I liked at all, and as a squad mate, save for Eve. I know there was a lot of critique towards Andromeda Krogans, but imo they finally stopped being cardboard cutouts. Turians imo got a better development in ME3, but Krogans I've never liked till Andromeda. I don't think anything will sell Asari to me, individually or as a species, but I am happy to be liking Krogans at last. I am one of the very few that liked to shot Wrex & not cure genophage & save mordin, as much as I liked Mordin's finale in alternative scenario.

Maybe my obsession with Mass Effect will go down a bit with the uncertainty surrounding ME's future? That could be a positive, right?

Hey everyone. I'm not a frequent poster here, a positivity thread is really appealing to me after the big letdown of the weekend. I have really liked the game from the start, and the positives outweigh the negatives of this game by a wide margin for me.
I liked some squadmates more than others, but I thought they did a good job of varying the personalities, back stories and motivations of them. The banter between them, including that with Kallo, Suvi and Gil is great, and I'm hearing new bits of it on my second playthrough. Much of the writing has humor and heart and that has endeared me to all of the ME games. No offense to badass Commander Shepard, but I also really enjoyed the new perspective of a young and less experienced soldier finding his way in his role. And I liked that he could be a big goofball.
There are lots of other positives for me, but these stand out at the moment.

Alex Ryder picks him to be part of the Pathfinder team (the tip of the spear of the initiative) but Liam is incompetent, impatient, and I personally dislike idealists, he's also a dick in the Nomad. I look at Peebee stunt and I felt that, despite the fact that PeeBee crossed the line, I felt Liam's stunt was sooooo much worse and all because he didn't have the patience for building relationships slowly. Idealists tend to be rash and emotional (and annoying) but I think that's an important factor in an effective team. I think the difference between Liam and Peebee's stunts is someone with Liam's background should know better than to take those kind of risks, while Peebee is oblivious to all except her own impulses. I can understand why people think she can be annoying, and her impulsivity causing problems, I do wish there was more friction about it. I would've also liked an option to get rid of a squadmates after their loyalty mission. I don't understand the comparison between Sera and Peebee though, even though I never played DA:I (I have Dark Souls and Berserk because if I go for a fantasy, I always go for a dark fantasy), the vibe that I got from Sera was that she was aggressively ignorant, whereas Peebee was insatiably curious about everything. Also Sera seemed to hate different opinions, kinda like Youtube commenters, whereas Peebee was rather open-minded. Peebee disliked other Asari because, in her eyes, they have a bit of an ego problem and could really tone it down on that, Sera just seemed to think that everything was the elves fault. Again I haven't played DA:I so this might contain some errors.

Also the whole jaardan thing with creating the angara and the mystery of the porigin of the scourge is a great premise. It's as interesting as the reapers before theie reveal in me3. I really hope they continue the setting in MEA2 and NOT in 5 years again. i really want to see more Kalo, Cora, Peebee, Drack, Vetra.

They do it for way different reasons. Sera is awkward. Peebee is a young asari that loves tech and experimentation. they are nothing alike. i really wonder if those who claim they are alike payed ANY atention to the narrative and the games (inquisition and Andromeda)

This was the harder one to pull off. All you had to do was walk diagonal then down to get the first gif to happen. Yeah that one. That was one of the few that I actually encounter. (I did have one time on Kadara where I fell through the map, just loaded a previous save) But yeah this really broke my immersion, as well as a few minor annoyances.

And you are probably right with your question. It ´ s amusing and kinda sad at the same time. I never understood some people ´ s obsession with comparisons, anyway. Edit: Apologies for writing more negativity here. I will see myself out. *runs away*

Same here. I may be alone in this but I actually liked Voeld!! Alone? Oh, hell no. I loved Voeld and Eos because they were so stark. Doesn't mean I didn't enjoy Havarl and Kadara, but the simplicity of Voeld and Eos appealed to me. We just needed the bourbon and Voeld would have been perfect. I actually enjoyed all of the planets, for different reasons. My one complaint would be that I would have liked things to be closer together on Elaaden.

I kept running into things I hadn't seen before even into my third play through.

I think I want to start a full run of ME story, from ME1 to MEA on N7. I am wondering if anyone is interested in doing this as well and have a thread in Spoilers. Sort of like a "Collective Reread"? I did this just before MEA was released. It set my signature in stone for me

With the mods permission, I would like to open up a positivity thread for Andromeda. This is where we can freely have positive and thread where we can share fanart and discuss characters and just give out a positive attitude! So what do you want to discuss first? I liked the idea of the Jardaans, sort of an anti-Reaper influence in the universe. I'm curious if they'll let us find out more about them and the force they were fighting. I also want to know if this Benefactor is Cerberus-linked and/or why they obviously handicapped the Initiative leadership. Are the folks now in charge all Benefactor lackeys? Interesting questions, which means I cared enough about the story for my interest to be piqued. I am also curious about the Jadaans, hopefully we will learn more about them later. Hope that there will be a sequel one day.

Don't see a problem with that. I like snowflakes anyway Same here. I may be alone in this but I actually liked Voeld!! Voeld is one of my favorite planets! I have a thing for frozen ice-planets, Hoth is my favorite in SWTOR Another thing I just loved in Mass Effect Andromeda, Sara Ryder! She was such a great character and I really enjoyed watching her grow up during the game. One day I might even play Scott just because I like how they interact with each other. Ohh... and as far as people going into a positive-thread just to be negative. I see that as a "blocking-request", and have put every single poster on ignore. If I want to discuss the things I don't like I go into those threads, I have personally been there before here on the forum. If I want to talk about Liam I go to his thread. And so forth, I don't go into a room and start shouting that the conversation in there is not to my liking and that it should be changed to something else. In that case I would go to a different room. So that is just my approach, I won't engage them, just block them if they cannot keep different conversations separate. To me that isn't a difficult thing.

I usually stay out of the general discussion area but after everything that happened, it just kind of feels like oh well, i want to talk about the game I love.

Hoped that future dlc would explore that, getting the closer or creating a rift depending on choices made in the story. Had so much fun in Dragon Age 2 with Carver and Bethany. Don't know if we will see this kind of relationship again, siblings interacting, since both Dragon Age 2 and Andromeda have had a difficult time. For me it has been a highpoint at least

I did this just before MEA was released. It set my signature in stone for me I sort of did as well, as I just finished my second run, but I want to do something thematic with a bit of head canon. I'd absolutely love to do it in a collective way. I used to be on book forums where folks re-read the same novel together while waiting on a sequel. It's a bit different than "what you did today" because the experience parallels. i am also wondering if Andromeda should be played between ME2/3 or after in the timeline.

(Kinda like Resident Evil)

I enjoyed every scene with the siblings! For me it has been a highpoint at least If they do have a ME:A sequel with Ryder as the Protagonist, it'd be nice if, depending on which sibling you play as, you play a different storyline, with the different storylines intersecting at different points. (Kinda like Resident Evil) Hmm... that sounds very cool but it would be very different from the usual BioWare games. Think it would leave a lot of plot-flags for the next game in the series if they had to account for two different storylines. Think I would just prefer having it like it was now in Andromeda but honestly I don't expect to see siblings again. Dragon Age 2 did not get the best reception and neither did Andromeda. Both games feature siblings, someone that your character can feel for, care for other than romantic relationships. For me having that connection is something that made me appreciate the game even more but it seems that not all like seeing that side of a character.
