Given that the clock is now officially counting down to the end of this game's sad life, I say that the devs release everything to us at the next kit/weapon drop. Not simply because that's what everyone wants, but because it will allow them to see the surge of play that happens when actual DLC is released, like how ME3:MP did it.
That game had 4 unique rebirths over the year which was one of the reasons it did so well.
Even if it's only one of the several lessons of a handful of the barrel's worth of lessons they take away from this debacle, they need to know that the word FREE and acronym DLC is a formula that does astronomically better than this minuscule crap they were peddling once a month. Free coupled with half ass "new content" = not same.

It is true that I had hit that "Ok I'm done with this game now." Quite a few times with ME3MP. When I went back and saw all new content or even if the news of a new DLC hit and caused me to start playng when it came out it definitely did work.
I don't think it would work for ME:A, but it is a fair idea.

At this stage we might as well get it over with, so I agree they should just release everything they currently have at once.

It's sad how 4 new kits and 2 new weapons is probably ALL of the content we are getting.. I almost feel like it's a waste of time playing any more as there pretty much definitely won't be anything substantial.

Just under half a year and looks like Bioware has officially given up on the game. Will probably get one more MP patch and then poof.

I'd get behind this if getting characters/weapons wasn't based on chance. But you either have to put a lot of effort into the mp or spend a lot money on mp. I have no desire to do either.

What difference does it make? And, it's August. I don't really understand why that will improve matters. Are you that hot on grinding the four remaining kits or something? They are all human anyway, and there were no leaks about new maps as far as I know. So... I can't care less about more UR humans.

They also should give free packs for those few that still play with unlocks of at least the characters and preferably weapons as well. I can't get batarian vanguard still. And I don't have about half of UR weapons even unlocked. They have a chance to go out in a puff of incense and leave good last impression instead of keeping blowing up piles of crap in our faces. But no, this is too expensive, EA will not authorize, we can't jeopardize our financial standing, so don't probably matter. I'd be happily proven wrong on that last statement.

If bioware is closing down the game, what good $$$ wise will "seeing the surge of play that happens when actual DLC is released" really do? Some people will buy a few packs yes, not going to gain anything from it besides that.
Bioware went the casual pleasing $$$ route, THIS IS THE RESULT OF THAT ROUTE. Only games that could get away with this route was call of duty and battlefield, but those games were solid at the cores. 1/4 of the shooter weapons in this shooter game are crap. No core.
The game is what it is, I play it for the mini-chubs, but I'm not looking at any other games at the moment either. Soon as something else comes along I'm gone. I'm a casual....because that's what bioware made of this games players.
This game didn't need a single map or unlock, it needed to be overhauled by someone who knows why people play shooter games. Don't cheer on the underdog while he's on the mat with all his teeth knocked out, get him outta there before he kills himself. Games done, enjoy it for what you can and move on.

What they really need to implement before they're done is a way to unlock specific weapons and/or characters.

If Bioware Devs read this (and I had things my way - which means unlikely):
If there won't be much more after these 4 Kits and 2 UR Weapons, continue to drop 1 every so often. This at least lets players go if they really don't want to hang around.
If there will be content but you aren't sure when as it depends on the resources left to the MP "team" remaining, then drop 2 kits and 1 weapon. And subsequent drops return back to normal. This lets players know you're trying to cobble stuff together at least. Could be false hope, could be actual hope. But hope nontheless.
If there's definitely more the MP team can do, then drop 2 kits 1 weapon both times.
Let players know "somehow" what the MP team is going to do without an open statement ala the SP letter.
But I know the Devs will likely not read or consider, and certainly don't have my way ocer things. So really not bothered much in any event. Just going to keep grinding more until I get some Siphon URs.

I think the best thing they can do is make some modding and map tools and then promise not to touch what gets created outside of policing certain content. I do hear about ME:A mods, but they cant be that easy to make and certainly not MP certified. I am talking about player created kits/maps/skills that can be used in a MP match.
Game really had potential, but the devs are either just really lazy or just that unimaginative when it comes to creating content. Look at all these reused skills. They didn't even bother renaming them or giving them different trees. Look at ME3. Biotic slash and Electric slash. Come on, we all knew it was pretty much shockwave, but they at least had different evolutions. Lets take backlash. Moving with a shield, we wanted that in ME3 and its here now. How about redoing the N7 Paladin with this new mechanic? Pressing 1-3 actives the omni shield as a toggle and puts away your weapon. Right mouse button brings the shield up to block with it, left mouse button does a shield slam reminiscent of the light/heavy melee system used in ME3. The shield absorbs X amount of damage before it breaks like in ME3 except since it is tech, and not biotics, it uses a power cell to reform a new one from omnigel or whatever (insert explanation). Maybe not for everyone, but surely cant be worse than putting the same skill on like 7 different characters?
Thats the real difference between ME:A and ME3. When ME3 dlc hit, a lot of it was generally unique, especially the earth DLC. Supply pylon didn't exist in mp before then, they created it from scratch(Ie not a recycled skill). And in the dlcs that followed, maybe they all werent super useful but they were definitely new creations Geth juggernaut: Hex shield, pulse cannon. I guess the heavy melee too, but that was kinda lame and too crutch... Warp bubble Devastator's missile system Supply pylon Cain mercenary: Projectile melee system, arrow types, passive grenade charge regen Lift grenades, cluster grenades, inferno grenades, arc grenades, homing grenades Havoc shield boost consumeables that used grenade charges other stuff I can't remember just now.
None of that stuff of reported development troubles matters to me. Why? Because ME3 mp was bland as hell in the beginning for me too. What matters is what they did from there. ME:A just flopped on the ground and lay there gasping for air before they could be bothered to eventually put it out of its misery. So rather than these people who seem to lack any creative thoughts, how about letting the players who actually care keep the game going. I mean its not like game has dedicated servers or anything Bioware has to constantly maintain right? The only reason you have to 'connect' is for the store anyway no?
If they really want to milk money from something they didn't actually invest any time into, lets just call it the Bioware Creation Club.

They've strung out content so that they can stay on contract for longer. If they dump what's left, they have to go home sooner.
Edit: Wishful thinking, but it's possible that they are still working on something we're not keyed in to--considering their molasses-level release schedule, they've had time to cook up other things while the six patch characters were locked in place already.

What we want with DLC = what Bioware won't do.
While they say they "listen" to the players, they sure as shit don't actually follow through on what we ask for. It makes sense for us as players to get all the content..............while there are still some people playing the game until the fall releases of other major franchises.......... but to Bioware & EA, they don't think that will make sense.
If they space the content out, chances are they won't be that many players who are still playing or will come back to playing MEA, to actually enjoy it (and pay microtransactions).
But to them, they think it will lure people back to pay for packs. I can't imagine too many people taking time from Destiny, COD, Star Wars, Madden, FIFA and any other new release, to come back to a game that will recycle powers on human kits, with a dwindling playerbase.

MEAMP on PC is already a shytstorm of dead. Releasing everything now wont make a difference, the playerbase (per region lock I guess) is crap. When you run into the same people over and over and OVER AND OVER again, you aren't in a large pool. Bioware didn't do it right, instead of adding things on top of a fragile base, should have fixed the base immediately after release. No one was paying for single player facial expressions...but people sure as hell would have microed up for some good working guns and characters who's powers actually worked and weren't cloned. Idk, I almost wish i knew what the real backstory was with this game because it literally had so much more potential. But there have been better that have fallen so.... just another corpse for the pile.

What I heard from the rumour mill was that support had been budgeted for six months. I expect that whatever's finished will be released by the six month mark, and after that ME:A will be locked in to whatever balance changes etc. are already in place.

A few thoughts more:
If it is budgeted to 6 more months of content, and the rest is balance changes, there really isn't that much to balance out over time. Another 6 months at most to balance everything? 12 months in total. Then what? If Balance changes are to still continue, I'd imagine that there's some leaway with regards to content as well. Hopefully some reskins of existing models, kitbashes and the ability to create powers. That would certainly permit MP to continue far past it's current sell by date.
I'd still love to get an Asari Black Widow that is able to Tactical Cloak in danger and movement, Dominate enemies in battle, let rip with Turbo Charge, whilst popping in and out of danger with Biotic Blink dashes.
So I hope that there's some tools that are fairly extensible for the remaining team to do new content with rudimentary changes. Would certainly keep the game going a bit longer and somewhat fresh too.

On top of what they put into the game, i think its about time now to increase the drop rate of UR's.. and give an elite pack away every weekend for a specific gold apex mission. After news like that people need some encouragement to play now that we know the future for a game we actually got to really like.

But there have been better that have fallen so.... just another corpse for the pile. The players know it won't make a difference...... Bioware & EA probably know it won't make a difference. But from their perspective, if they launch all the content now and just say this is the final piece, how does that bridge them to the next EA released game? (not sports, but action/shooter). To them, it makes sense to space out the minimal content until Battlefront 2 and not admit they have given up. It already looks bad that EA has already given up on the game/franchise, but at least showing they're willing to give minimal support for a few extra months allows them a bit of lip service to fans. THEY didn't quit... players did. THEY didn't give up on the game... players did. So if they're willing to keep a game on life support for a while, it at least shows they're willing to support their other games. As for what happened, there was that article a few months ago that detailed what went wrong with the game in total, mainly the campaign. As much as we like MP, SP is what sold people on the franchise in the first place. ME3MP just happened to be a surprise that gave the game (and money train) life for over a year. When people aren't happy with the campaign/story and main component of what the franchise was known for, then the secondary part is just collateral damage. The MP portion will never get an investigative article, but considering the strife of the campaign, it's not hard to imagine what MP went through. If the campaign was understaffed, overwhelmed and incompetent, their decisions for SP will naturally have some impact on MP. Not a tremendous impact, but certainly enough to leave it in the state it was launched in.
