Is the BioWare/Mass Effect fanbase really filled with triggered snowflakes?

He was the punching bag for DA2. Might be some of that carried over to DAI. Fact is, with him leaving, all the prominent and experienced staff has left the DA ship. There's still no official announcement of DA4. I hold my horses till that is happening.

I agree. If that was the case, the dogshit Batman v. Superman movie would have never gotten off the ground. Instead it was a somewhat underwhelming success. The social cripples and their memes and whiteknuckled troll fits only seem to have some limited true power in video game world.

This is probably a fairly accurate assessment.  I also think this commitment by EA to the Quebec government also applied some pressure into the mix:

The date of the merger of Bioware Montreal into EA Motive may have been something that was being planned when that tax credit application was made and it may have meant that the employees were on a hard deadline to wrap up ME:A all along.  When they finally woke up to the fact that the procedural generation idea wasn't going to work, they managed to eke out an additional 3-months... but were still unable to get the game really up to snuff in that time... but no further extensions were going to happen.  Then, with the amount of post-release fixing that needed to get done, ideas of putting out a DLC were scrapped first... and then they put in as much support as they could in the form of patches right up until the deadline for the merger hit... announcing the end of support for the game just prior to that deadline.  Simply put... time ran out for them.

huh? Mark Darrah is still there, worked on the DA franchise far longer than Mike and he was always the top boss on the DA team. The DAI writers are all mostly still at BioWare (Gaider and the ones who were in Montréal are gone). The lead cinematic designer has been there since Witch Hunt. The lead concept artist haven't left either. People really need to realize that over 100+ developers (200-300 at peaks) works on a AAA game not just 3 of them.

There is no announcement for DA4 because the game isn't going to release in the next year, 2020 is basically the earliest we are going to see it. They started to work on it this year, not in 2015 after the last DLC released.

Considering just how bi-polar the BioWare fanbase can be as well as how much the fandom's political compass seems to skew to the authoritarian left, I'd say the "triggered snowflakes" is not only an apt description, but a justified one.

I know your pissed off and butt hurt to some degree but you REALLY need to step back and educate yourself. 

Games featuring women and LGBT have been around for a LOOOOONNNG time. Your comment makes zero sense when considering how well a lot of these other games have done.

In Fable you can marry a man when playing as a male. This was in 2004 before Bioware started LGBT romances.

Persona 2 in 1999


There are also many other games that features gay characters in subtle and not so subtle ways.

Actually, that is incorrect. Bioware had a lesbian romance in 2003 with Juhani in KOTOR. 

I agree with most of your post, just felt like that should be pointed out since that was a big deal(not just for Bioware, but also because she was the first lesbian character in Star Wars). 

And yet you dont see "anti-sjw" people tearing that game apart. And if im not mistaken, Elle in Last if Us is lesbian and there isnt some "anti-sjw" group out to take down Last of Us 2.

But yeah, many other devs are taking onto my diversity in their games. So this was never nor is something exclusive to Bioware.
