I’m currently at Level 14 Rank XX with the Juggernaut. To make him different from other characters, I went for maximum damage reduction:
Remnant Armor: 4A (Regeneration) 5A (Ramping Defense) and 6A (Invulnerability) Fortify: 4A (Protection) 5A (Shield Feedback) and 6A (Unmoving Defense) Equipment: Stronghold Package Bulwark weapon
This guy is super tanky while standing out in the open as long as he can inflict damage and get kills. I think he’s better than the Geth Juggernaut from ME3 in terms of survivability.
At this level, he has 120DR from Fortify, 90DR from Remnant Armor, and up to 50DR from a Bulwark weapon, for a total of 260DR. If I went Rank 6B (Degradation) on Snap Freeze, I would be even more tanky against chilled, armoured targets.
Gold matches were somewhat easy before but you still had to go into cover to regain shields. This guy just shrugs off attacks by enemies. I wish more characters could be this tanky.
Once I get him to level 20, I might respec Rank 5 of Remnant Armor to 5B (Evasion) and do a hover build (with Rank 5B of APEX Training). 100% accuracy with a shotgun or the Rozerad/Hurricane/Silhesh might make him on par or superior to the Turian Havoc Trooper while in the air.
What are other people’s first impressions of the Juggernaut?
Updated with some Gold gameplay:

Won't get a chance to try him for a few more hours. Have you tried Plat, or just Gold?

Nice! Have him at XVI L5. Haven't played him much yet but tankiness definitely stood out in the games I played...

How reliable is invuln on platinum? I'm sure it's great on gold and below but I plan to use extended duration for plat if maintaining the DR is any problem at all.
Siphon should give you way more bang for your buck here. Much higher base health, and the high DR effectively multiplies the effect of the lifesteal. Siphon imo is better than 50 DR always, but especially here.
Not sure about unmoving defense on him. I don't plan to stay still very much. Definitely conflicts with bulwark unless you're camping with your team.

I overlooked that in the OP initially; Explosive Purge is such a no-brainer if you're gonna throw 21 points at Fortify that it never even occurred to me to look. Don't know why anyone would ever spec Unmoving Defense, period, but especially on a character with bonuses to movement speed for running around killing shit. He's very obviously literally designed to be a highly mobile killing machine, not a filthy camper.

Won't get a chance to try him for a few more hours. Have you tried Plat, or just Gold? Just Gold right now since I want to get a feel for him. I started with a Gold solo (until people joined on Wave 2). I was able to stand out in the open while people attacked me left and right. Obviously, he won’t be as tanky on Platinum, but with the invulnerability frames for each kill, he’ll still be better than any of the currently-viewed as tanky characters in Platinum.

Kills happen a lot less frequently on Platinum tho. I doubt he'll be more tanks than any of the shield boost kits.

Ok I only managed to pick up a first card for this earlier after doing a few games, and it has to be said from the outset, i really liked the sturdiness of this kit. I was able to stand and soak damage well, and can see the damage resistance build really being king on it. I've been a duelist player through and through, but i've been looking for an alt-main character that i like to play regularly, and I think i've finally found it.
I've just in the last 5 mins picked up my 2nd card for the jugg, and also picked up the silhesh too. Very happy indeed, but i think i'll wait for the silhesh to be higher ranked before i start using it.

No, he can be designed for two different playstyles. You can still move around with this build. When you stand still or sit behind cover for 5 seconds, you gain your 50DR. You can then move and until you stop, you still have the 50DR. Didn’t have enough points to get to Rank 5B APEX Training. Once I do, I’ll switch to Rank 5B Evasion and do the jump for 2 seconds of Airbone DR.

Purge and unmoving defense both seem better than any amount of points in shockwave tbh. But I agree I'm leaning towards purge. Agree to disagree re the first part. (Agree to agree on the second part, where you agreed.) I'll probably go with 1 point in Shockwave as well, but if Purge weren't available I'd argue that Shockwave's 20% cooldown bonus at Rank 2 alone would be better than Unmoving Defense. You obviously don't want to run around detonating Snap Freeze's armor debuff, but more frequent redbar Snap Freeze detonations would have greater utility on Gold, and more frequent ammo or teammate primer detonations would be more useful on Plat, with the exception of those asshats that hide under the fucking platform on Paradox or in the back room on Sandstorm.

Probably because it doesn't offset fortify's movement penalty. I don't plan on being particularly mobile, but I won't be standing still either.

Tried to bring my suck into Gold PUGs for the LOLs, but kept getting kicked, so I settled for Silver instead. First game with Juggs I/1, Shorty III, fire booster (yeah, I know... forgot to equip, and just selected -something- on the fly during countdown) went OK. Scores not impressive, but that's just my shitty playing and getting the feel of the toon. Still, felt good after a while. If you're a half good player, Juggs at I/1 with decent weapons and boosters looks plenty Gold viable to me.

Kicking someone with a 21,000 APEX rating in a gold lobby is ridiculous. Even if they're bringing a level 1 rank I character.

All classes are platinum viable, this game is a shooter and the higher difficulty you get the more weapons play a part. Soldier and weapon specialty classes run platinum because they boost weapon effectiveness. Dhan or hurricane siphon on a level 1 class is enough for any gold game with any character. And honestly if someone kicks me because i'm level 1 with these weapons... I wouldn't wanna carry their asses anyway.

As long as everyone isn't level 1 with avenger Is, there shouldn't be a problem... I know, haven't experienced this for a good while now, and I re-level my characters frequently since I like them a little bit not-OP. No idea why, maybe it's because it was I/1 and not XX/1, or maybe just unlucky. Or maybe it's because I'm one of those giving 20k+ APEX players a bad name, but I doubt it; still not amongst the most efficient players out there, but not -that- bad any more. In any case... I had other stuff to do, so I just went Silver instead of trying to find a friendly Gold PUG. *shrug* Trying the Juggs a bit more now. Ran through the Bronze Celeb mission (for my second APEX kits). Then going for Gold. Funny thing is, in PUGs he feels less Bronze/Silver viable than Gold/Plat. LOL. Being sluggish and powers taking a while to reach their destination, things tend to die before his strengths get a chance to show. Running around, shrugging off "bullets", spraying death with impunity feels good. I'm naming him "Arnold".

I'll be over there, in the corner, pretending to not suck. EDIT: I probably should add that it was maybe 20mins before that that we couldn't get out Gold lobby to fill, so we played a silver, then I went PUGging. We would've been happy to have you, can't understand some people kicking.

Ok, this character is outrageously OP. I don't believe them for a second that they did any playtesting with him whatsoever.
Invuln is without question the way to go. I don't know how they determined that 1.5 seconds is balanced, it's not even close. Put a multicapacitor on him and even a modest killstreak will restore your shields, which is easy to do because since you're FRIGGIN INVINCIBLE, you can afford to be way, way more aggressive.

His 1.5 invincibility is literally just that, you get shot and nothing happens, shields just keep going up, the other B choice is there as a placeholder. Very tanky/melee favored character if you choose to build him that way.
Honestly, and sadly though, I was more exited unlocking him than playing with him. Its all powers we've used before...He's just a walking cryo explosion. (Has cryo guantlet like Salami Arc. Don't think he has much melee damage though, not like krogan/asari sword.)

Updated the OP with some Gold video gameplay. Remnant Sandstorm. Lots of hovering and shooting (100% accuracy buff is great with the Rozerad). Had to use an Ops pack a couple times, but otherwise, this is a very tanky character. Good luck leveling and playing him BSN members!
