Battlefield 2042

May as well post this video while I'm here with impressions on the beta. Good news is gameplay looks pretty good.

Huh, neat, I was watching a few videos doing critiques on his erm...leftist tantrum on the failure of the presales and they were citing off loss of subscribers and such. Guess he still has the majority of his audience, though I do think he potentially shot himself in the head with him siding with EA over the customer base, that probably didn't win him any friends at all.

I would really like to say that on a normal world, that wasn't actually intended. Someone did code the "profanity" filter to ban those words, but I'm sure it wasn't DICE idea all along, was probably some jester and maybe some heads will roll once they figure who was in charge of doing that little joke. That on a normal world of course... at this stage, who the fuck knows really.

Yeah I still find him hilarious, but admittedly I do avoid altogether some of his videos. The whole rant attacking the community because he couldn't get why people disliked BFV concept as a whole and turning it into a political contest is something he shouldn't have done, among other things.

He doesn't like it:

There's a lot of common complaints starting to come through it seems. So basically this game, from people playing the beta, doesn't feel like a Battlefield game.

I mean, maps, gun balance, lack of apparent content. Those are things that are always an issue on a beta. I don't remember BF3 or 4 having particular "looking forward to it" maps (well, maybe BF4 did), and that if you could actually play both maps. I remember how the AK5 C in BF4 beta was essentially an automatic sniper rifle with no recoil. I am almost willing to give them the benefit of the doubt in this regard.
However when we look at things like the "attrition system" of soldiers having next to no spare ammo to begin with and having to run back to base every 2 kills, or expect a support to help them out (many times in vain), things like the "construction/fortification" feature that looks eye brow-rising in paper, but doesn't quite seem to add up to the gameplay, or dumb ass modifications like "faster bullets" or "higher rate of fire" , locking gun modifications to certain paths so you had to unlock the gun again to get the "other" path? on top of a bizarre user interface and HUD. Add all that up and the game looks to be in a weird place for what I've seen.

Like which ones? Did they give any examples?

Not so far. Probably better - the mocking would start anyway on a simple mention of prosthetics. Or not mentioning them.
