It's a shame I won't buy this game. I just watched the final singleplayer chapter they released on youtube, and the storyline is absolutely terrific. It's amazing what can be done when writers aren't held back by ideology.
But unfortunately, a single SP mission is not enough to pick my interest.

I guess we can chalk this off as average BF entry into an already saturated market. The changes to the weapons really dint convince me. Probably the most striking change I'm not liking is that everbody can revive now. That's like two useless classes now: Support with their peashooter LMGs and medics who are basically useless. BF1 kinda got it right. I had weird kill moments there as well, but overall the gunplay felt good enough and varied and maps didn't always feel like corridoors. Also the conquest mode was awesome. Why did they change that?

DICE apologises to the community - rolls back 'time to kill' changes. "Clearly we didn't get it right", yes ... that statement could be applied to a whole swathe of things in Battlefield 5. "Although not extremely vocal within our deeply engaged community, we see from our game data that the wider player base is dying too fast leading to faster churn - meaning players may be getting frustrated with dying too fast that they choose not to log back in and learn how to become more proficient at Battlefield V," DICE said at the time.
But the experiment hasn't worked. So in a post earlier this morning, DICE has revealed that they're rolling all of the changes back.
"Our intent with the TTK changes was to see if we could evolve the Battlefield V experience and make it more enjoyable for new players, whilst also making sure the Battlefield vets have a choice with a more “core” experience suiting their preferred play-style," DICE said.

My major complaint is the lack of content, there's next to nothing compared with BF4 at lunch (hell, even BF1) I think it's supposed to be released Games as a Service style over time. Essentially you buy a game nowadays and don't get to know what you'll really get in the end. So people take what they get as the end product and are kinda disappointed. Then player numbers fall and the publisher strikes down the content originally planned cos it's not worth it anymore and it's all like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

That’s what really disappointed me, can you imagine Stalingrad or Kursk with these graphics and gameplay (minus the awful aesthetics)? Plus we could have had the chance of playing a female Soviet tank commander in the 1st Guards Army a la Aleksandra Samusenko. |

BFV failed by EA's standards. Plain and simple. With the new consoles coming, EA needs a new top shooter to bank on in the first year of sales. So they dropped all support on BFV and Battlefront 2 in order to focus the entire DICE studio on the next BF6 game.
