Dammit Assassin's Creed, way to lure me back into the franchise with an Ancient Egpytian setting and Alix Wilton Regan. Yep. She will be voicing Aya bsn.boards.net/post/888599/thread

Good, she was much better than Scott's VA who nearly put me to sleep. Totally agree, I started my playthrough as Scott, couldn't take it and started over as Sara.

She deserves because she did amazing work and proved she was the worthy successor to Jennifer Hale but sadly chances are she's not to win but chances are the VA for Horizon: Zero Dawn will probably win.

Sorry I thought her performance was god awful in the game.
My vote is to Nathan for Cayde-6!

Sorry I thought her performance was god awful in the game. My vote is to Nathan for Cayde-6! As much as I like Cayde, I feel that Bungie overused him, but I suppose they're all too aware of his being one of the game's strongest assets story-wise. He doesn't really have a great dynamic with any other character in the game, not even our own since s/he doesn't even friggin' speak, so he's basically a one-man-show.

She was terrible as Sara, I'm sorry...way too inconsistent of a performance to deserve a nomination. I still can't get that cringe Suvi flirting scene out of my head.

Wait a second. Wasn't making that scene cringe-worthy Wolff's job? Kallo's line doesn't work otherwise.

She was terrible as Sara, I'm sorry...way too inconsistent of a performance to deserve a nomination. I still can't get that cringe Suvi flirting scene out of my head. I think she's coasting on the goodwill Hale got for FemShep I've played 3 full Sara PTs, and two half-PTs. (One got bugged, one is ongoing.) Her performance bothers me so much that I don't think I can even finish my current game. Tom manages to salvage the most cheesy, awkwardly written scenes with sarcasm and wry delivery. By contrast, Fryda is goofy turned up to 11. It's horrible, in my opinion. She seems like a cool person. I wish I could feel differently. I will cast a vote for Aloy's VA in HZD. She was absolutely exceptional. I can't recall a single awkwardly delivered line. That game is so polished. EDIT: What a waste of time. I cast more than a few votes, many of which went to Ashly Burch and HZD. Then, GamesRadar requested my personal info to submit my votes. No thanks. I don't want magazines, and I don't want to pass out my info.

I think she's coasting on the goodwill Hale got for FemShep What do you mean? That people who liked FemShep will give any female VA a pass? I do love Jen Hale, but wasn't crazy about Jo Wyatt's or Alix Wilton Reagan's performances in the DA franchise (nothing against them or their talent, their performances just didn't resonate with me). If you listen to Fryda's interviews she certainly seems like a hard working VA. Whether or not you liked her performance, I don't think laziness was involved. Alihou, as was already pointed out, being cringeworthy was the intent of that Suvi scene, so mission accomplished! Element Zero, I think Sara is supposed to be kind of a dork. Her awkward flirting with Gil was also cringeworthy. I liked it a lot, but YMMV.

Well that's just your opninon man. For God's sake will you change the record? This is a forum. Can we just accept that everything here is someone's opinion and leave it at that? Why don't you post this after every single post you see rather than just ones you disagree with? It's just incredibly tiresome. If you've got nothing to say, say nothing. Sssesh I'm joking around. Calm down.

As much as I can't stand Destiny I voted for Nathan Fillion. Cayde-6 is the only redeeming quality of that game. I liked Destiny, but Cayde-6 was possibly one of the few noteworthy characters. (I also liked Variks.)

In my post I originally put a disclaimer along the lines of 'don't take this as the literal truth, this is a forum not a court' then deleted it as I thought it came off as patronising. There's a lesson for me here.

I thought Fryda was okay. It's no Jo Wyatt or Alyx Wilton-Reagan or what's their name, but I wasn't annoyed at all by her performance.
As for the other nominees: Don't have a console so I don't get to play those games. Destiny 2 is still unreleased for PC, but I'm not interested in it.

Wolff showed a lot of range and nailed ever and was a much more enjoyable performance for me, while IMHO Aloy was all over the place she never seems to a have any kind of personality in game, now if Burch was up for Aloy's mother then I might have went for her there (I think the backstory was more enjoyable) but as Aloy she was just meh. Not bad, but not good either, but then again I think Horizon: Zero Dawn as a game is vastly over-rated.

It was the writer's fault for writing Sara as if she was a tween interested in someone for the first time in her life.

Tom Taylorson isn't in the running? That's shocking. Fryda was okay, I guess, but often seemed to misjudge the scene. Tom nailed practically every line in the game, as if he could read the writers' minds. That's not easy to do. His Scott is one of the best VA'd characters I've heard in a long time. He even made some pretty uneven writing respectable, more times than not. That's my feeling as well. not to detract from Fryda, but Tom is my pick.

Much as Chloe really lived, I dunno, haven't heard her in anything more recent than that. Not even BtS. Ashly Burch was amazing in Horizon Zero Dawn as Aloy. Although Rhianna Devries was the voice of Chloe in Before the Storm. (Ashly couldn't reprise the role due to the SAG-AFTRA voice actor's strike) Tom Taylorson isn't in the running? That's shocking. Fryda was okay, I guess, but often seemed to misjudge the scene. Tom nailed practically every line in the game, as if he could read the writers' minds. That's not easy to do. His Scott is one of the best VA'd characters I've heard in a long time. He even made some pretty uneven writing respectable, more times than not. As much as I loved Tom's performance as Scott, if I had to pick my favourite Ryder, I'd have to go with Fryda as Sara. Might be because she was the Ryder I played on my first playthrough of MEA, but I really enjoyed her take on the character. I saw you could vote for Assassin's Creed Origins, which isn't out for another 5 weeks... Dammit Assassin's Creed, way to lure me back into the franchise with an Ancient Egpytian setting and Alix Wilton Regan. It's not really Ancient Egypt though, it's Hellenistic/Ptolemaic time.
