Jade Empire sequel

Honestly Jade Empire ended well. The story is finished. I see no need for this.

We've recently seen sequel fatigue in movies. People are complaining franchises are being milked to death and asking why a movie cannot be just a movie. The same could be said for games (matter of fact, Andromeda kinda sorta feels to me like milking the ME franchise...)

Well I wouldn't want to play as the spirit monk again so sequel might have been the wrong word to use.

But certainly, there are many other stories that could be told in that setting. In the Prosperous East/Phoenix Gate maybe.

It was Bioware's first original IP after KoTOR, with a fast paced action combat system.  Its a pretty short game, but I think it has the best villain Bioware has ever written.

I really liked it, it was free on Origin a while back (but I played the original Xbox version).  The story and characters are pretty good, and the combat was neat and different for them.  It's got a rock-paper-scisssors kind of thing going on, and has style shifts like the more recent Mortal Kombat games.

Plus there's a big Kung Fu fight in a teahouse.

I'd almost agree fully if it wasn't for Jon Irenicus existing to share that title.

Given the advancements we've seen in brawlers with games like the Arkham series, I would love to see a sequel with the BioWare story/companions and a modernization of the Jade Empire combat that takes pointers from those games.

I want a Jade Empire sequel. I've waited for 11 years, I'm patient

I'd be intrigued to see what else could be done with the franchise.

I agree 100% with Balsam Beige and Draining Dragon. This is an amazing game! It's on my very short GoAT list.

The villain is by far the best that BioWare has ever written; and I really can't think of a better villain in any game, now that I try. The combat system is varied and unique. The cast and story are as amazing as you'd expect, and on par with any of the "old BioWare" standard-bearers.

I still remember "Lustful Lao" as possibly the most enjoyable background NPC in any game I've played. The game is full of quality writing, and he stands out as one of many examples. I'll not ruin any, as much as I'd love to go on and on about them.

I highly doubt we will ever see a sequel, given the futility of our pleas a decade ago. We did get Mass Effect as a hell of a consolation prize, though. I don't think they'd be able to convince EA that a Jade Empire game would be a big enough seller to back, and EA would maybe be correct. There are simply too many more lucrative options to pursue. While the masses might not flock to buy another Jade Empire game, I sure as heck would.

Here you go, with an extra on the side.       Makes me giggle every time I hear this because it reminds me of Chinese period shows / movies.
