I have two young daughters. I laugh at your suggestion at having the time to even think about playing an online co-op shooter.

If the gameplay is solid and the player base is strong I'll consider getting it. I bear no animosity towards Bioware; there's a difference between deceit and biting off more than you can chew, and I think Bioware was only guilty of the latter.
The concern is always that not enough of my friends (online or off) play multiplayer co-op games enough to warrant my getting it. (Same happened with Borderlands, L4D, Red Dead Redemption co-op, Evolve...)

For the time being, and based on the information provided, I do not intend to purchase Anthem, the Game. My decision has no connection to BioWARE's decision to discontinue MEA. Rather it has to do with Anthem not advertising anything I like in videogames.
However, after observing the development process for Andromeda, DA4 and Cyberpunk, I look for smaller companies that produce "good enough" games rather than dealing with the timelines and BS that goes into producing & selling AAA titles, and the god-awful reception fallouts. I do not need everything and a kitchen sink in my games, and I can live without wading through a messy psychotic drama on the net every time I want to talk to someone else who played & enjoyed a videogame.
What I want from a videogame is a captivating setting, good story, characters, not-really-eyes-sore graphics and a place on the net to meet a few friendly & sane folk on the net to chit-chat with.
Obsidian and Spiders are my current favorites for inspired B-listers, and I pray they can remain in business and sell enough to keep going.
AAA titles... they are really not worth all the complications.

If the gameplay is better than MEAMP and has better netcode, I will probably end up buying it a week or two after release.
Those are two big ifs, and one isn't a super tall hurdle IMO. The netcode, on the other hand, will require a lot of real DICE team support if they want to achieve solid BF1 levels.
I answered unsure.

Don't mind even if ME is fully done for it, but damn if it doesn't feel like a step back, in most everything except world, loot and co-op. And upgrading your robo suit, blech, where's the fun in that?

Obsidian and Spiders are my current favorites for inspired B-listers, and I pray they can remain in business and sell enough to keep going. Try Larian. Divinity Original Sin 2 rocks and is constantly supported. Agree with the other mentioned companies though. All the more reason to add Larian to the list.

I'm currently playing Destiny 2.
Would I swap for Anthem? Probably not. BW have some serious proving to do firstly before I would even entertain trying Anthem. It will be pretty much the same as SWBF2 anyway. Full of loot crates / microtransactions. That's a pretty good reason to give it a miss.

It's been in development for too long with the company producing other games I have no interest in in the meantime. It also tries to put everything and a kitchen sink in the game, half of which I don't need in my games, and makes me pay for it. So, like the other AAA games, if it's already there for a year or two, sure, but I am not following and anticipating them, and I am not paying a perimium for the pricey stuff the other people are demanding, period. Let them do their thing and try to please everyone under the sun. I will search for niche that is addresses my needs satisfactory instead.

Yeah, damn CDProject Red bastards trying to make the game too good! Fuck them and their mothers! That is not what I said. I said that the developers in general who chose the AAA route has lost my interest, and I have answered your question as to why it is so to the best of my ability, after you have requested a clarification of what I thought I already made clear in my original post. You have used that responce to launch a passive-aggressive statement aimed to "prove her wrong". I in no way, shape or form critisized any company's choice to chase AAA titles and profits, it is their choice to do so. most particularly I did NOT use obscenities directed at the developpers personally, or their families. I like video games, but I am not insane. And, yes, as I pointed above, the kind of sentiments you have just expressed in a discussion of a AAA title, at a barely a mention of a game, is one of the reasons I wish to distance myself from a AAA fan communities. It's exactly an example of the psychotic drama and overreaction to "tastes differ" that I do not wish to deal with. The discussion is one thing, but that aggression and anger, drawing the lines based on brand-loyalty is off-putting. The video-games are not worth this sort of reaction. It belongs to serious, impactful events worth fighting over. Not tastes in entertainment.

Finding time for the forums, screenshots and SP games differs a lot from finding time for an MP game, because in an MP game you do not have a luxury to participate whenever and for whatever length of time you have. And your experiences are invariably impacted too much by other people. SP gaming is much like jogging in a park. MP game is like playing soccer. It's much easier to fit in a jog in your life; a match, even impromptu, is way, way more challenging to get into, particularly on a regular basis.

Excuse me a moment childhood tantrum engaged: ... .. . Ok. That is over. Now on point. EA spokesperson: "Next, here is Bioware and their newest IP and groundbreaking game: ANTHEM!!! A single or mulitplayer story-driven experience. Guaranteed you will enjoy!" Yep. EA has finally killed Bioware. Granted. Took them a decade longer than most of their other company acquisitions. Well done on Bioware's part and fortitude to try and remain relevant but as always EA wins in the end. Well done EA. You will get no more of my money. Why? You greed perverted money grabbing Larfleeze wannabees who want all to follow your stereotypical mantra of " multiplayer is the way to go" you EA will never see another dime from me -no. Not even a PENNY! I am done with you EA. Why in the world do I want to play a game that forces multiplayer elements to get the "full" game experience? Even if I didn't have such a crappy internet connection to begin with I would never play any single player game that has multiplayer included ever again. You hear me EA? Please focus entirely again on single player games. Otherwise I am done with all your franchises. Yes. Boy-cotters you have one more person you can add to your ranks.

No chance in hell I'm ever touching Anthem. Don't care if it comes out and is called the greatest game ever made, as a Mass Effect fan I simply won't support the game they abadonded ME for. Especially since Anthem is just another loot box/microtransaction heavy game.

Considering? Yes. Is it a sure buy? No. I have to know more about what kind of game it is and how the gameplay works/looks before really being interested. Right now online coop shooter doesn't sound that appealing. My decision has nothing to do though with liking or not liking MEA. That's stupid (a decision making process like that, not the people). Anthem will be its own game and after seeing gameplay previews or getting reviews by players I know it might be interesting to me or not. One deciding factor will be how much story is in it and can I play it and its story alone if I want to? The latter part is how I mostly like my gaming.

MEA doesn't affect my interest in other Bioware games. I enjoyed ME but even if I didn't I don't get angry with a dev for a game I don't like and try to punish them, even in a series I love.
Specifically for Anthem, I'm not a team player, so it'll depend on how good/viable solo playing is. It doesn't look like my kind of game, it's not really aimed at gamers like me, but I might dip my toe into a trial or something. I like to keep an open mind.

So no, not getting Anthem nor DA4.
