An update, it seems Destiny's fan base is really starting to lose interest in the game, if this is true Anthem could be DOA. It’s not that surprising. Destiny 2’s big problem is that it made the loot system too generous while simplifying the loot, taking away our ability to control even what pvp modes or strikes to play. It doesn’t help that the raid is trash with no serious benefit in terms of rewards. Raid weapons and armor should be meaningful. They could’ve brought in a new equivalent of the old mythoclast. I just started my hunter a couple days ago and am already at 294 power and havent even touched pvp yet. Overall the game is safe to a fault.

I don't think there's as big a market for these kinds of games as the people making them think. Destiny coasted by on its developer's name and managed to win a modicum of respect following DLC, but it suffered from massive fall off. I don't think that people are clamoring for a game like this and with BioWare's reputation so marred, I don't think they'll get the benefit of the doubt.

Not interested in Anthem so no buy.
I feel sadder that EA feels to be ditching SP RPG making and hoarding RPG gamers toward unitary online fodder that encompasses various genres. SP = becoming a more rare thing.

It sounds like the devs really need to bring something new to the table and push the genre, take what's good from Destiny and avoid their mistakes. Would not be great for BioWare's future if they have another lackluster showing in the professional review market. I assume they are aware of this..........

As if anything will satisfy the insatiable beast that is gamer culture.
We've reached a point where entertainment value in video games is heavily saturated. Nothing surprises us.
Anthem is doomed because BioWare as a brand is ruined. Doesn't matter how good the game is. Just watch people rip the game apart.

Out of curiosity, I'll get it on Craigslist for $20. It's how I bought MEA.
This, from a man who bought the $300 DAI Collector's Edition. That was the first betrayal, and the last.
Bioware is dead to me.

If ME4 returns to form, though, they can easily win back us fanatics. I predict a reboot in 6-7 years. Hopefully by then the extremist elements of the SJ movement will have died down enough to allow BW to make a game that appeals to both women and hetero-male gamers. I've got the money, BW, come and get it! (Pls note: I'm talking ONLY about the extreme elements, not the entire movement.)

Or the Gamergate clowns will have given up their massive sense of entitlement. (Yeah, right.)
Still not happy with using "Gamergate clowns" for that lot, but it's a heck of a lot more accurate than "hetero male gamers." I saw "gamebros" used a couple of times. A portmanteau of "dudebro" and "gamer" isn't too far from the concept we nee, since the core of the "dudebro" concept is that they're insecure in their masculinity. But I don't know if the term really conveys anything yet.

Or the Gamergate clowns will have given up their massive sense of entitlement. (Yeah, right.) There is no such thing as entitlemet when it comes to paid products. That's when we talk about consumers, buyers, demands and a market. It's not on the same line as someone handing out free candy. The entitlement argument was stupid some five years ago and it doesn't age well by repetition.

I'm open to a different term there. How would you prefer to describe the endless whining about SJWs ruining games?

I'm open to a different term there. How would you prefer to describe the endless whining about SJWs ruining games? OK, changing the goal posts here, as I note. The SJW crowd homes in on every game and company. But they only make up a fraction of criticism. They also have long died down. There's hardly any new effort to observe. It mostly happened before and shortly after the game was released. Most probably didn't even buy it. Sure, there's trolling - I would call it that - with every game. But that doesn't serve as a coverup that many people were disappointed (not entitled) by the game as it turned out to be. Paying customers that expected so much more. The critique was always the same. Lackluster story, lackluster worlds, lackluster companions. Not in any concerted effort, but that's how many people felt.

I didn't intend to change any goal posts. I thought this was exactly where I always had them,. Actual SJWs seem to be almost mythical, from what I can see., while people whining about them are pretty thick on the ground.
You seem to be going off on a weird tangent here. Or rather, the last couple of posts were already on a tangent, and you didn't follow that. (Nobody said that either SJWs or anti-SJWs actually sank the game; I suppose you could interpret I'd rather be Mordin Solus' post that way, but he's clever enough to avoid making such a statement outright.)
