Iron Bull is really close to my type, and he is really just hot as balls. But despite this, I've grown to not enjoy his romance much, and my canon Inquisitor is single despite Iron Bull's amazing looks. So I think it's a really short-sighted to put the attractiveness of a character ahead of their content. Sure a character may look like they jumped out of your wet dreams and into your vidya games, but they might be a complete dud romance and plot-wise. But I think a balding drug addict is attractive so my preferences are weird and my standards are hella low. Oh, baby

Ashley in ME 1and 3, Miranda in ME2 and Isabela in DA2, that's what I want. Don't get me wrong, I have a so called 'RL GF' since years back so I know what real women look like, but is there seriously anything wrong to want a really attractive woman as a LI in a made up imaginary world without having an army of politically correct gaming nerds on you for that request? Not a damn thing wrong. Now I was all over Liara is the OT but yea Miranda was smoking hot. I did romance her in one playthrough and she actually warms up to you really nicely once you get past that ice queen shell.

I don't think that there is a single character universally considered attractive. Even as a woman, I understand why some guys find them ugly, at least it's not Iron bull level of ugliness. It's just Solas level. Definitely subjective. I think Bull is more attractive than almost any male companion we've had. Yeah! and Solas is bae. I mean, who could hate this face? IB is attractive, but I think his head could be a little bit bigger proportion wise on top of those massive shoulders of his.

I wager that Bethany, Velanna and Vivienne will be the the only female companions in DA4, and that they will only be same sex options. Where do I sign for this?

Personally I feel like literally every romanceable character in all the Bioware games except maybe Solas, the Iron Bull, and Blackwall ARE conventionally attractive. And even those three still have fans who enjoy their content (I look forward to romancing Blackwall with a dwarf myself). And I never understood the comments about Blackwall's hygiene, that beard looks pretty damn well groomed. But the ladies? Cassandra, Josephine, and Cora are gorgeous, and I honestly put them on the same level as Morrigan, Isabela, or Miranda? idk, this complaint just never made sense to me.

I don't think it's wrong. I just don't understand why women like Josephine and Cora aren't considered "conventionally attractive" when they obviously have feminine features, nearly flawless skin, permanent makeup, shiny healthy hair, hourglass figures, etc. Apparently, the hair is not long & wavy enough, and the only acceptable facial shape is triangular.

I can't really comment about the chaps (though the Blackwall hygiene thing is new to me, and surprising: as a professional soldier I'd actually expect him to have extremely good personal hygiene) but I agree about the ladies. None of them are unattractive, whether or not they all fit my personal taste. In Sera's case I added some make-up because I like the made-up look, but it's not as if anybody is hideous and most are very attractive.

Blackwall is the hottest companion across all the Dragon Age games. Just seeing his romanced tarot card makes me hot and bothered. Those amazing pectorals and those big dark nipples.. goddamn. I'd give all the male companions to women if I could just get my Blackwall. But I RESPECT his god given sexuality and he'll be my best friend instead. GREAT.

The thing that bothers me most about Blackwall is his accent in that I can't quite pin it down: it's as elusive as Bodahn's in that regard. It generally sounds northern English, but as somebody who's northern English herself it's proving slightly elusive and once in a while it has more of a bit of London intonation. His official profile doesn't really help, it just says "Northern: deep, rich, powerful". It's interesting that he's another one who looks like his character, though, as do a number of the others; in that regard I'm always amused that Sera's VA looks more elfy than she does.

For the record I can certainly see why someone would find Blackwall attractive. Some people are really into that bear-ish rugged lumberjack look! I love him as a character and my wife's bff. And I think his romance is very well done. But just so people don't think I'm making the "everyone comments on his hygiene" thing up... Vivienne: (to Blackwall) We do have facilities available to the Inquisition, you understand? Bathing shows common courtesy to one's traveling companions. Blackwall: How do you get your hair to do that, Dorian? With magic? Dorian: With proper hygiene and grooming. Maybe all three of you should get acquainted. Blackwall: Dorian, do you think we could ever be friends? Dorian: Stranger things have happened. It would take work. And soap. Lots and lots of soap. Blackwall: What are you staring at? Cole: Your head. So many tangles. Knots. And that's just on the inside. Cole: You need a hairbrush. (<-- I don't know if this actually counts, but ) Cassandra: How do you stand the Skyhold stables? Blackwall: They’re quiet. I like having time to myself. Cassandra: I can’t imagine finding "quiet time" in that stench. Blackwall: They’re only horses. Cassandra: They’re not horses. They’re dung monsters with hooves and tails.

I see similar comments among the fandom. I feel like a lot of the comments about Blackwall's hygiene are due to him having a big bushy beard, even though it's very clean looking imo. People tend to have a bias against what they deem too much facial and body hair. I have a friend who deals with similar comments from strangers because she doesn't shave her legs, for example. I just assume that for the companions it's something similar rather than him actually being unkempt or smelly.

Lots of people seem to think hair = gross and stinky, whether or not that's actually the case. And since they found Blackwall when he was wandering the woods and he sleeps in a barn, the rest of the companions just assume he reeks because of their own biases or whatever. Especially because it's coming from Vivienne and Dorian, who have totally different standards in that department. Sera and Bull never say that he stinks, lol.

Does anybody shave their legs over winter? I mean I hate uninvited body hair, but sometimes life's too short. But I do get the point: although I'd never thought of Blackwall as stinky, I sometimes wonder how chaps with a ZZ Top beard avoid getting curry and rabbits and things in it.

Well, if we go North, we're bound to see lots of half-naked qunari... But generally speaking I think bikini armor is pretty silly. Especially if female characters are the only ones who are expected to wear it.
