I always suspected the game was more incomplete than they were letting on. Anyway, I did a pre-order from Amazon in which the release date was listed as March, 2017. Not any more instead of having a 6 month wait, the wait is going to be much longer. I just got this email... and remember, this is just an estimate and the actual release may be sooner, but I doubt it.

I don't believe that is the case.
That would make a senior executive in EA eat dirt, after he told the investor community the game is on schedule for first quarter of calendar year 2017.

No doubt you received the email. However, its content suggests the "estimated" new date is a place holder. Plus, it goes against what Biofan discovered about the book publishing date of March 21, 2017.

This amuses me. Ignoring that, at least via twitter, they've obviously gone into crunch time and started the 'road to release' (which sure as shit isn't a year and a half away). Amazon never 'had' a date before, and still doesn't have one if they're posting 'end of next year'. They where bullshitting before, and they still are bullshitting.

Might be they actually have a date but can't post it, and due to that threw out the bog standard end of year? Either way it's all BS.

The date is not true, it's a placeholder (that is what i mean above). Pretty sure i remember other games having this "december 20xx" in preorder when there was no official release date yet.

Actually, this started out with a March 31, 2017 as the placeholder. Or, if you don't believe me, go to Amazon and search Mass Effect: Andromeda. I have never had a game that was released before the lock date. Have you?

Um, you do know [BIO]Tiberius is a BioWare dev... right?

I'm guessing there was some kind of miscommunication or Amazon just plain screwed up somehow. I'm sure now that BioWare's aware of it, it'll get sorted out shortly....

Can I ask where you got your info? Some documentation? Amazon almost gets it right almost 99.9% of the time. In fact, if you think back, there were quite a number of 'surprise' release dates that we received first on Amazon.
