The Blanketfort (crying and throwing up) - The Official Solas Thread [Spoilers]

Now that Solas is the enemy, I hope he will live up to his reputation as Fen'harel. If he doesn't fool the DA4 protagonist with all kinds of deception, I'll be very disappointed.

Some writers think the antagonist must lose at every turn and that's just not true.

The armor is actually from the base game. It's called battlemage mail. As for the level of detail, I can't say. I do know it's common for things like that to be scaled back in order to make the game work for consoles.

Where did this come from?  I don't recognize that armor at all... 

Well, the people I spoke to were super excited about it all and said they'd pass the letter along to Mark Darrah. The DA Day founders last year had also reached out to BioWare but got no response - I found out on Friday that it was probably because the devs were flat out with Anthem. Anyway, keeping my fingers crossed that they will get permission to participate this year in whatever way they can without violating their NDAs.

Note: they expressly said they wouldn't be able to give info about future games as part of DA Day, which is not something we at DA Day were expecting or hoping for anyway. So please don't get your hopes up about anything like that.

Oh, I figured they couldn’t give out any info. I was just curious to hear what they had to say about the event themselves.

Did you go to that this year?  I remember last year someone told you to "buckle in for the ride", when you mentioned being a Solasmancer.  Any more juicy hints? 

Oh, well. It is nice to know they're excited about the trailer though. And that they seem to be into the DA Day. They sound happy and motivated.

Oh hey folks, look... the early version of Solas' face that was released as part of his character profile page for DAI looks an awful lot like the face in that photo posted by the Mayor of Edmonton's office earlier this week:





Just one more reason for me to believe it was promotional art for DAI that never got released to the public.

I've been re-reading The Calling by David Gaider recently. Each chapter begins with a verse from the Chant of Light. This one was interesting to me because "Pride" is capitalized, which could mean you-know-who.



I cracked open my World of Thedas to check whether it's capitalized in there, too. Curiously, Threnodies only goes up to 5 in the WoT so I could not corroborate. In the wiki, though, it is there, but they failed to capitalize "Pride." I don't know if that's accidental or if something published more recently than my copy of The Calling has pride without a capital P.

Anyway, makes me wonder what, if anything, Solas did to the Magisters Sidereal. And also how many other verses of the Chant of Light that we have seen in Dragon Age series stuff haven't made it into the WoT...

Mine would definitely face some scrutiny because I play the game blind and don't reverse my decisions if they go "wrong" so I managed to kill off my clan via the war table missions. After the fact, I checked a walkthrough of that mission and I had made all the right choices except the very last one - it was in character for my Lavellan to send diplomats, not soldiers. So the clan was slaughtered. But then, in Trespasser, Sera mentions that a Jenny might know of some survivors. So if my Lavellan were to find them, I expect a bunch would be very pissed off at her. But I think also that some (wiser heads, perhaps) would understand the situation she was in and forgive her. She can't see the future, after all.
