One of the top complaints I've read/heard about MEA was that the characters weren't interesting. That's one reason why I would want new characters for the next game, if one were to take place in Andromeda. And new characters would be more interesting because???? There's no guarantee a new set of 6 would be any better than the old set of 6. If the problem is the writing, writing about something different won't improve it any. The writing itself has to improve, in which case EVERYTHING will be more interesting. And what guarantee that bringing the same characters back would be better then having new characters?

And if they brought Shepard back it would be even worse. What would be worse? I'm sure some would disagree. They could, but I wouldn't want that. I'll settle for one more game or as the guy says, 'One more story'.

That's no answer. You are the one assuming new characters will be more interesting. Why do you assume that? Will the writing be better? Will the team have different staff? If so, why would the "more interesting" trait not apply to characters we already have? Or, maybe they'll just be characters you like vs ones you don't like?
I'm not saying there should be NO new characters in a sequel - some of the best characters in the trilogy were introduced in ME2 - but if Bioware makes changes that improve the overall writing for their characters, then the characters we already have will also be better. Tali and Garrus were both way more interesting (imo) in 2 than they were in 1.

Yeah, if people think your squad mates in MEA are less interesting than your squad in ME1, than I’m not sure if they’ve played both games. I think they're comparing MEA to the character development of the entire OT. I'd like the Andromeda characters to have the chance of developing over more than one game as well.

Seems to be the new business model. Sell what works until it stops working. Abandon anything that's not immediately successful. One of those has definitely happened already.

**** Now, why would you want new characters if you didn't agree with the opinion that the current set wasn't interesting? You just said it's a reason for why you would. Would you want new characters if you thought the current set WAS interesting? If you didn't think new characters would be more interesting, why would you want them?

Maybe he thinks that the problem is other players' opinion of the characters? He wouldn't have to agree with it to think that it might be a problem

He wouldn't have to agree with it to think that it might be a problem Possible, but why not say so instead of avoiding the question multiple times? Considering elsewhere he's posted his intense dislike of both Peebee and Liam, as well as Ryder, I don't think that's the issue though.

Just curious, was a time travel / alternate dimension possibility ever brought up with the "ME5" discussion so far?

How about we have a game what takes place on the citadel or Omega? Both places have a lot of places we didn’t get to see in the Ot so instead of making an entire galaxy to explore how about just a single station like Dragon age 2 did? Or we could start on one and unlock transport to the other.
edit to add
Have it take place when Shepard was dead for two years.
And we we play as some one who doesn’t know or care about the reapers being a thing because propaganda covered the attack up in mass effect 1

What I want is a continuation of Shepard's story. It would be really cool if they were able to connect the Milky Way and Andromeda through some super Mass Relay or something. That way the choices made in Andromeda could carry over. That may be hard to do with that many variables though.

Well you couldn’t have shepherd after andromeda cause it takes place 600 years Shepherd is probably dead. If you Freez Shep you probably miss out onOT stuff as the problems would resolve them selves

I think it would be best that what happened in the Milky Way stays in the Milky Way, and what happens in Andromeda stays in Andromeda. As for bringing Shepard back and all, it kind of reminds me of how many times Jack Bauer was brought back after being done with things for one more "day" to help fight off the terrorists? At some point the story around any character must end.

I can't see a whole game taking place in Omega or the Citadel. ME:Citadel Stories - You're .. hmm a C-sec guy doing stuff around the wards? That could work I think Of course being a pirate could be "fun" too until Alliance troops or some Spectre comes and makes you a pancake...

Considering the reaction to the last time Bioware based a game just in a single location, I doubt they are eager to try that again.

But have it disconnected from Shepard's story. Playing as Ryder in a MEA 2, not so much. That guy/girl was kind of a boy/girl scout wanna be hero dumbass.

It kinda describes how I see ME2, a game of side missions with somekind of an ending (bluntly put). It worked for people still, I think ME:Citadel Stories could be a sidestory missions game, which would then unravel something else. Doesnt have to be reaper/jardaan level stuff at all even.. but yea, I dunno. I love ME1 Citadel, and somewhat the other representations too (though as small as they were).
