Would a crew that small necessarily have a primary cook? Or would the job just rotate? But yeah, Drack's obviously a cook. Where did the idea that the kitchen wasn't being used for cooking come from, anyway? One of the posts by themikefest in response to one of mine: He said:

I have no problem with the kitchen being used to cook. I have a problem with the krogan using the kitchen as his place to live.

Where did the idea that the kitchen wasn't being used for cooking come from, anyway? Kasumi slept in a bar. Garrus slept near the guns. Honestly, only Shepard, Miranda and Ryder had real rooms. The kitchen is as good a place as any to settle down, though I don't really know how Drack fits in there. I think he fits better in the kitchen than in the rather tiny bunks shown in the crew quarters. Let's face it, Bioware have never been particularly good at providing appropriate living quarters to the squads in ME. ME1 actually did it best by having all the sleeping pods lined up on the one deck and having it appear as though they retracted when not actually in use and then constructing the dialogue sessions such that Shepard speaks to them at their workstation only.
They gave Miranda a bed and room... and then where does her romance scene take place... the engine room. For that one, I was fully expecting Miranda to invite Shepard into her cabin for a allout romantic dinner, etc. (since she's not supposed to "settle" for anything but the best).
In ME3, we have Kaidan sleeping in a reclining chair and Ashley apparently sleeping on the floor. In all 4 ME games, there are never enough bunks shown to accommodate the squad and crew we see aboard the ship. In ME:A, there are, I believe there are 4 bunks in the crew quarters which would have to be occupied by Kallo, Suvi, Gil, Cora, Liam, Lexi and Vetra. If everyone was sleeping in the crew quarters where they were supposed to be, where was Cora supposed to have assigned PeeBee and Drack anyways?

Elevator, plane (stall or not), car, hood of car or even the damn bathroom. When she wants it, she wants it! Hell, she had been staring at his D for roughly 2 years. This is motherfucking Commander Shepard here. She was ready....

Still disappointing that they gave her such a lovely private space that was never used in the game at all At least Liara had a good crying jag on her bed..

I sort of had it figured that there were no hidden cameras in her quarters and she is a bit of an exhibitionist.... so, perhaps to eventually see it go viral over the extranet? My Shepard would have definitely preferred her quarters, some fine wine, candlelight, and maybe that red dress she wore in ME3 instead of her white spandex ?armor?

Does it really matter? I had a chick give me a bj in the kitchen surrounded by about 10 people. She could have easily waited until we got to the room but I wasn't about to complain... Hell, it's stated in the game that she was having sex with random guys on the extranet. Let her slang the P wherever she wants!

It isn't really about Miranda.
It is about Bioware dev(s).
Same with the butt shots.

Many years ago a high school girlfriend called me up on a Saturday and offered to do just that to me. She lived forty minutes away and I had just made a bowl of ice cream. I said no thanks it's a long drive and I just made ice cream. It didn't work out. But to get back on track, I don't expect the next Mass effect to have BJ's in the ship kitchen. That is one thing I can be certain of.

I just went into an old ME1 save. There are 31 people on the ship including Shepard and his squad members. There are a total of 12 beds. The one in Shep's quarters and 8 sleeping pods on the deck near Kaidan and 3 beds in the medbay. I really wonder where the other 19 people sleep... on the tables in the mess?

Obviously you can't have an entire crew asleep at any one time. Shepard has his or her own space so it should be 15 on and 15 off. Could even be three shifts so 20 are on and 10 off at a given time.
I think the SR-2, while a larger ship, had much less in the way of accommodations. Shepard's bed, Miranda/Liara's bed and maybe four bunks. Don't remember the size of the crew. Joker obviously slept in the pilot's seat due to not trusting anyone but himself in that spot.

I indeed was able to find the Mass Effect 1 codex entry regarding "hot bunking." An excerpt from Ships and Vehicles - Starships: Crew Considerations:
"Cabins give each individual ten cubic meters of space. On larger vessels private rooms are common. As ships get smaller, the number of crew packed into a single wardroom increases. Asari prefer shared spaces even on large vessels while krogan territorial instincts make it impossible for them to cohabitate even on the largest ships.
On smaller vessels, 'hot bunking' is the norm. Crew members are assigned different watches share the same bunk. When one gets off-duty, he wakes up the person in the bunk. While that crewman is on duty, the first gets his rack time."
I SURE HOPE I COULD PUT THIS DISCUSSION... TO BED!

They do this most likely. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_rackingIf They are hot racking, then we should see some crew members occupying those beds at any hour of the day. Sorry, that's not what is depicted since all 31 people I've mentioned are awake and working all at the same time. If they are hot racking, there would be an equivalent number of people "on the night shift" as "on the day shift."
Bioware just has never decided on how large or how small their ships really are. At least ME:A avoided the pitfall of scattering numerous extraneous NPC's about the the deck. The crew of the Tempest were all that were aboard the ship: Suvi, Kallo, Gil, and Vetra... accounting for the 4 bunks in the crew quarters. However, they never took into account Ryder's squad - initially Cora and Liam; so we see them set up in the bio lab and cargo bay initially. They just selected their own spaces. In a way, Ryder was asserting himself/herself over Cora, who had undertaken assigning spaces to the new squad members on her own. It was something that was never her responsibility. By "not caring", Ryder is actually putting Cora into her place (and she's the one who, at the time, represents the greatest risk to undermining his/her authority.

Let's pretend we can have some suspension of belief on this topic. Now, if you put this in the "Things that don't make sense" thread we can talk.

It's not a matter of asking for more than the game can provide. If they wanted to portray hot racking, they could have just as easily taken some of the those extraneous people standing about the deck, and put them into the bunks. No additional resources required.

Some stuff you have to just take on faith. After all if I recall correctly BioWare never put in a bathroom on the first Normandy but they certainly had one in-universe.
