Inquisition you had control from the get go... even as a prisoner you were bossing Cass around. Only for the sake of gameplay. They weren't in charge until Skyhold. They'll never have it where the protagonist isn't in control of the game in a choice-based RPG.

Only for the sake of gameplay. They weren't in charge until Skyhold. They'll never have it where the protagonist isn't in control of the game in a choice-based RPG. pity. Let's think about this. In DA2, when you got to Kirkwall (where your mother decided you were all going) you had to choose between the smugglers and the mercenaries in order to get in the city. The game then passed over your time w/ that group. Later, in Mark of the Assassin, you were mostly following Tallis' plan. If you are starting off w/o power, maybe you can make a similar decision as to joining a group, even temporarily. Need coin? Want information about a family member or friend? Want to leave town? Are you a slave? Help a smuggler/magister/merchant/... and follow orders. You don't decide where to go. You don't decide what to do. Maybe it's a small job, easy to leave behind when it's done. Maybe you can opt to stay w/ that group/organization but you then get to build your own squad within the confines of the larger organization THAT YOU CHOSE TO STAY WITH. Later you can choose to leave and on what terms: enemies, possible business partners, open to odd jobs or information sharing, etc. Doesn't have to be a long period, maybe DAO Ostagar length. Long enough to begin establishing your character. Are you resentful? angry? Coldly determined? Just some thoughts.

I've had this dream since my second play through of DAO.
The PC is talking with Morrigan when out of no where a custard pie hits Morri in the face. No explanation, no visible culprit. Just a random pie.

Pie toss as a new activated ability? Must gather berries to craft? Ability only works with Sera in the party. Berries must be grown from the bodies of dead shemlen (Andrastian only) by a spell only the quota Dalish party member (or a possible Dalish PC) has access to.

Bloody elfs, them shifty knife ears can't be trusted, i tell you. Come on lads, let's show them how decent folk deals with traitors, i heard that there's a "marriage" happening in the alienage atm, let's pay them a visit. *DAO's city elf intro begins* I wonder if the next party rogue will be as cheeky as Sera/Varric/Isabela

I am becoming more and more enamored with the idea of having a rogue/archer 'zipline' like ability that can attach to surfaces (or enemies in different combat evolutions) that can allow the characters to rocket around the battlefield gaining a tactical advantage.

Is it different from the Hook and Tackle ability somehow? Well its more or less just an evolution of that where there will be extra surfaces in the game where you can latch onto so it isn't just pulling you closer to an enemy, or vice versa, but can also be used to escape from danger as a rogue. I suppose bonus points if there is an evolution which will allow you to attack in mid air.

Oh, and for some reason that reminds me of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. I never played myself, but just watching a friend playing it was hilarious. Sure, you've got a sword and magic, but kicking baddies off cliffs or into spiky things is far more effective there.

So something like Grappling Hook in WoW... I approve. And it's not only about adventage in battle. Think about all the loot that'd be easier to reach!

I wish that Dragon Age 4 is/was set at least 20-40 years after the events of DAI: Trespasser to write off most of the characters and make choices have less consequences from the previous games. I know this isn't popular but dragging 3 games plus story based DLC the rest of the tie-in media (novels, comics, anime, web series, and etc) with multiple choices isn't going to make the story better IMHO it will only start to make things worse because they'll end up with more stuff Morrigan's kid, who is a massive plot that go nowhere and allowing for fresh storylines and new directions. At certain point this will probably have to happen and they should get it over with right now.
This would also allow Solas to have more than enough time to build up his power and followers and figure out how to tear down the Veil and defeat the elven mage lords and since he is immortal/ageless a time jump would also allow him to wait out and let the Inquisitor and company die off so no one would be around to stop or even know who he is or what he is up to. Making him a more dangerous foe.
And for the love of that is holy they need to get rid of that fucking War Table from DAI and replaces it with the superior one from MEA. I don't want to wait for hours to advance a romance quest or open up a new region. If there is a War Table make it more like sending troops to take an enemy fort or assassinate a warlord, rescue a village, help get supplies, and not waste time to advance major and romance quests that should be allowed for the main character to do.

- Race selection - Elf PC is a City Elf this time - Previously dead (edit: I mean player-killed or PC choice killed here) characters stay dead - Minimal cameos - Better lighting in CC - An elf companion who gives a shit about modern elves - PC VA doesn't have or we have the option to not have an English accent - Lady dwarf and lady qunari companion - Tevinter/Old God, dwarf and Qunari lore and story elements

Yes, yes, DAI had Dalish, but it felt like human with facelift at quite a lot of points. -Does this refer to british vs. american accent? In this case, I would want selection, instead of corny everyday US accent. Else, I would like for the PC to have some more unique accents which aren't real-life inspired, like what Miranda Raison did with Cassandra.

Accent might depend on where the pc is from? Definitely need race selection. I am good with any kind of elf (including ancient elf!). It seems like lady dwarf and lady qunari companions are likely. I like lore in general, but there are also future games, so I don't think everything needs to be covered in one game. I like a more focused approach with the story so it isn't spread too thin.

Buckeldemon: being able to choose or Rp as either (and similar for other races e.g. Orzammar or Kal-Sharok origin for dwarf etc) would be great and not sth I'm opposed to. If they only have the resources or desire to do 'one for each' though I'd prioritize CE over Dalish elf given Inky could be Dalish.
Specifically English. if they had a Welsh or a Scottish or whatever PC VA accent instead that'd be neat and different. and not vs American in particular, just in general. and only if voice selection doesn't return because it would be ideal if it did. hypothetically if it doesn't though I'd rather go with American, of the two. the American VAs for DAI didn't sound corny or everyday at all to me and English really isn't any more unique than American. that's not to say the English VAs didnt do good jobs and don't have nice voices, they definitely did and do. English in media like this is just just as generic/overdone and everyday or whatever on the other side of the pond. or heck if it's going to be an English one go with something different for a change like a Ned Stark-type more northerly-ish variant or something over the standard RP English.

Yes, marketing was a complete mess for DA:I. Do you remember when they announced Follower Fridays and said that they would show a new companion on Fridays? Then they showed one companion and canceled Follower Fridays. There were a couple other things like that as well.

TBF Follower Fridays was kind of a risky idea in the first place. It sounded like a good idea to me. Until it was immediately canceled. Yeah the argument basically is 'should we 'meet' our companions before we play the game' vs 'should we meet our companions during playing the game itself'. Now I do appreciate information, planning out PTs, likely romances, who will be on my 'A' team but logically that should be done...naturally...during the game itself.
