I remember being so excited for the mounts during the lead-up to Inquisition and ended up not even using them because you couldn't have party banter while using a mount.
I'm not even so sure we'd need a mount if DA4 is set more in urban areas. But, if there are mounts, I would like to hear party banter while using them.

FYI and this is frequently the case in games, the mount went exactly as fast as we could let it go without breaking streaming on the older consoles. The loot animation though I'm right there with you

One thing that I did enjoy about Inquisition was the ability to gather resources, such as hunting animals or taking metals. If DA4 has more rural areas like Inquisition did, then I think it would be pretty cool for that mini-game of sorts to return.

Well... One thing that I did enjoy about Inquisition was the ability to gather resources, such as hunting animals or taking metals. If DA4 has more rural areas like Inquisition did, then I think it would be pretty cool for that mini-game of sorts to return. The way Inquisition handled resource gathering was too grindy and geologically irrealistic. Minerals should not sprout on the surface like that and we should not mine them with our hands. I prefer that next game draws more from DA2 where you find mineral veins and establish a proper mining operation from which you extract the resources to craft itens. Organic resources like plants and animals could respawn but I'd really like that rare stuff such as ironbark, sylvanwood and heartwood came from special harvesting places like minerals. Masterwork materials should be strictly quest related instead of randomly generated and the amount of schematics should be drastically reduced for the sake of crafting only legendary stuff instead of relying of crafting to beat the game. Itens rewarded from quests should be better than crafted ones until you have truly legendary stuff avaiable for the likes of Wade and Sandal to work their masterpieces.

I would have loved seeing which type of mount every companion had... Bull probably would have had a war Nug, and Dorian the reptilian like one, or the bog unicorn Bull surprisingly favors beauty over usefulness (brittle, pink metal during party banter) and I'm not sure if an obese and horned pig qualifies as that

I do feel like he'd find some less cute mounts to be kind of cute, ones we wouldn't necessarily expect. He has a thing for rejects and outcasts.

The nuggalopes are actually great, and there should be more wacky stuff like that, in my opinion, if they are doing mounts at all (didn't find them remotely useful, tbh).
I'd more prefer a variety of Dog-style pets to choose from.

For me, if anything comes down between a choice of banter or no banter, I'll go with banter every time. Plus, I like walking through the terrain - I feel that I miss stuff while riding, even in the annoying Hissing Wastes.

I haven't tried it yet, but there is a mod, Persistent Companions and Mounts which I plan to try on my next pt. From the mod page, "Companions don't disappear while mounted. Mounts follow and don't disappear with distance/combat." and "Also, party banter does get triggered while any combination of characters is/isn’t mounted!"

Things that I didn’t know I wanted until I see a competitor doing it
Camps-instead if teleporting back to camp make a camp that looks similar to where you are. If for example you are in hinterlands the camp looks like the hinterlands or deep roads etc. the camp is not in the same exact area (it’s own world space). Dao was closer to this
A background goal-in dai all of our companions had individual goals that helped improve their standing with you. What about goals based on class Could be simple as pick 20 chests and get xp or recognition from say varric etc. warrior could be a dual with iron bull . These are simple but what if it was more complicated. You an elf and helping 5 plus elves with problems gets you a certain bonus point etc or maybe an improvement to a sky hold type place. Instead only solas approved/disapproved and that’s all it was. Maybe collecting all of black walls artifacts led to a secret meeting with wardens etc (worse case all those trophies should have been displayed

The threesome with Isabela was nice in DAO, but seriously it's time for a proper ménage à trois relationship.

I was thinking yesterday,"what happened to the protaganist side quests that had to do with them?" DAO had them in the form of origin call backs, DA2 had Hawke Family business as well as prologue callbacks, and DAI had some war table quests.
Bring them back, and at the same quality level as a companion loyalty quest amount.

Something on the level of Ryder's quest line in Andromeda would be perfect as it would signal a more protagonist oriented character arc.

I hope they don’t have quests like that. I much prefer my character’s backstory to be up to interpretation. Having quests severely limits if not completely eliminates that.
