I thought the decision to offer a choice of VA for the Inquisitor was a good one. In that vein, I hope we're offered choices again, but I'd love it if some of those were older actors. I appreciate how we can make our characters look older, but I never choose those options, not because I don't want to, but because the VA doesn't really work with an older face somehow.
One of the reasons Jennifer Hale was so great in Mass Effect was the ageless sound of her voice. I could imagine Femshep sitting comfortably in an age range of twenties through to fifties. It made her more believeable to me.
At 10 years old, the Dragon Age series must have more than it's fair share of middle-aged gamers, and I'd love to see that acknowledged. Youth is great an' all, but I think it gets valorised a little in gaming - particularly for female player characters. I'd love my PC to be older, wise, gorgeous and kick-ass, and I'd love some voice acting to go with it.

I hope they got rid of the jump button so I don't keep jumping when I am trying to click on something because I am not close enough to the object I am trying to click on.

Due to six years having passed, I seem to have forgotten most things I'd wished for in the next game, but these two I remember:
This has certainly been mentioned before, but I really really wish for better hair options. The hair styles in Inquisition were outrageously bad, both predecessors had better options by a mile.
For one, the quality was terrible. Receding hairlines and sideburn textures even for women? That one can't be blamed on the new engine, that was just lazy. And safe for that one fancy bun they really didn't look much like fantasy game hair styles. So a few of those would be great. I understand that long hair is a pain in the backside to include, but some more elaborate up-do's or shoulder length hair with braids are absolutely doable, as we can see in Origins and II.
Also, let us get rid of companions who annoy us. Or, if that doesn't work with the story (which is fine by me), give us the option to not look like a complete idiot when arguing with them because they are written to always get the last word in.
I don't want another Vivienne. Her whole "rivalry path" was so badly written, it still makes me angry. The Inquisitor seems like a helpless imbecile in their coversations so she can look like an endlessly conniving player of The Grand Game who has so craftily outplayed us and is irrefutably right in all her convictions. I do love characters who have the backbone to challange the protagonist's views and don't lick their boots, but you gotta give my character some way to adequately react. Even if it's just letting me kick them out.

Thing about it in resources sort of way, where everything is micromanaged. DA:I had to be on 5 different platforms, so they were extremely limited technology wise with what they can do with the hair. Lets hope DA4 doesn't suffer the same fate. I commented here so many times before but I can't stress this enough - stop reusing hairstyles on important characters! Why the heck me and duchess florianne have the same hairstyle? Or Harding and Celene? You're not as sneaky as you think. Non companion / advisors are important as well, especially main characters that appear in the main storyline.

Give me the option to not kill dragons. I agree but to be fair I hate killing animals in games. In assasins creed 4 I always skipped the scene where they hoist up the dead whale and so on.

Don't have us fight wolves again. I hate killing them and the sound they made when they died hurt. It reminded me too much of dogs getting hurt.

I don't know what I could possibly add here that hasn't already been said in 122 pages, but here's a few off the top of my head:
- curly hair and dreadlocks in the CC - more skin tones in the CC - non-binary option for player character - trans and non-binary companions - dwarf LI - fem!qunari LI - explicitly ace LI! explicitly ace LI! explicitly ace- - more skill slots like in DAO and DA2 - customizable tactics !!! - better ability to climb things?? I hated jumping and sliding around trying to find a way up those ridiculous hills in the storm coast and, maker forbid, platforming to get to Those Shards (you know the ones I'm talking about) - fewer zones to clear. I enjoyed the open-world feel of DAI, but there were just too many zones that weren't even relevant to the main story and they just felt like an unnecessary chore, which is disappointing bc some of them were really cool (emerald graves, hissing wastes, emprise du lion...) - day/night cycle, or at least the ability to choose time of day for certain objectives like in DA2 - ...mabari companion
I may add on to this list.

Wildlife in general should be less suicidal in future DA games - in DA:I I was killing bears, wolves and whatnot by the dozens - it felt like there was a rabies pandemic in whole of Thedas. That didn't add anything to the game and it was just annoying and weird.

If you insist on having a not at all tired "open world" I request you cut the number of areas in half or more, why's the Emerald Graves and the Exalted Plains not the one area? For God's sake make exploration worth our time, do not make me feel as though I am exploring the same area reskined again with different flavour text to the letters I occasionally come across.
If you packed everything Inquisition had to offer into 40 to 60 hours instead of it dragging out over 200, you have a substantially better experience, and it might not have the time to get on your nerves.
So by the end it does not grate as much with the simplified aspects, such as potions and other usable items such as health or mana, or the absence of proper character build potential through attributes and talents in addition to feats, or proper functioning tactics that I sincerely hope make a triumphant return.

At this point I just want the game to be out.
I find myself caring less about Inquisitor and her role in the sequel- after one bad news after another, I worry about whether the game will be wrapped in general. it's a bit of a shame, though. So many years between DAI and DA4! DAI is the game that impacted me greatly on an emotional level- I don't think I ever cared that much about fictional heroes and the setting. now I know I won't get the same satisfaction as if I played this game in, let's say, 2018. I got older, got more bitter, and generally grew "colder" about DA each year.
It's like really wanting a toy in your childhood, but you can't afford it. now that you are older you've got money, you buy it, but it doesn't make you happy.

with that, I can't even imagine what devs are feeling right now. Those, who are on the project since the beginning and keep going. Seeing your pals leave, your project getting sheved|changed all the time can't be good. I hope their work still brings them joy.

If I recall, DAI has/had an issue with subtitles being small. Last night, I played Far Cry 6. One of the options was to have the subtitles at small medium or large. I liked that. Something like that would be nice in the next DA game.

Something like that would be nice in the next DA game. Yup, small font size and using Small Caps font style. What a horrible combination. I just replayed Kotor recently and the font is almost comically large. But as I get older it is appreciated.

Small subtitles are terrible for my eyesight. Sadly is not a problem for DA only... Most videogames these days have the same problem. Ans is expecially problematic because it seem the biggest the screen, the smaller the letters are made on screen. Not just subs, but everything written.

We desperately need origins where the PC isn't some 20 something newbie about to go on a huge adventure. The hero is in his 30's/40's, already grey hair withering and falls asleep randomly during the day.
We also need MILFs and DILFs as romance options for them that they could relate to instead of someone 20 years younger than them.

Solas and Blackwall were around their 50's (at least physically for Solas). Cassandra was 39 or so, Cullen and Iron Bull middle to late 30's. Early 30/late 20's for Josephine and Dorian. Sera was the exceptionally young one being 19/early 20's. A good thing about DAI was that the Inquisitor could easily be played as older.

Yeah, but playing as a blank slate Inquisitor isn't really the same thing as playing as some ancient elf, battle hardened Kal-sharok veteran or OAP Magister looking to take over the world.

Bring back the basic healing spell.
It's part of the lore and it's not unbalanced if done correctly.

The 54 variations of bald or balding weren't enough. Clearly, we need more. /s
It was always bs that characters like Anora got these exclusive hairstyles that PCs don't get.
