Apparently vampires are just people possessed by hunger demons, which personally sounds icky to me so I'd never go with that option if it were ever offered. What, Really? That's lame. dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Codex_entry:_Demonic_Possession
Next are the demons of hunger. In a living host they become cannibals and vampires, and within the dead they feed upon the living. Theirs are the powers of draining, both of life force and of mana.

Super lame. Do they at least have the powers of vampires from other fictions?

Edit: It looks like the Lonely Soul in the DAO:A mission A Maiden in Distress was specifically a Hunger Abomination.

It's BioWare. So don't hold your breath for that one because they never fulfill promises for anyone. But you can still hope someday that they would consider to put vampires so we could play as them in DA4.

Don't give me wrong, being a vampire in Skyrim have good perks, but the whole Vampire Lord thing is a bit over-the-top and underpowered in my opinion. I like how vampires can move and fight @ Witcher: Blood and Wine with the Bruxa and boss battle with Detlaff, and that is the exactly what a vampire should be like in games.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't DA vampires the result of hunger demons possessing corpses?

I was using the gear from the Heart of Stone dlc and some from the main game. Had to sell mostly everything I came across in Blood and Wine so I could afford the top tier Witcher gear.

This ia the type of bad assery combat gameplay I want for DA4! This is actually just DAI with custom cameras and the UI turned off (and it was running on super-settings that probably only exist for our media team) - I think that might also be the older animation for Mighty Blow.
So really you just want a more involved combat camera and better graphics

I'd like weapon swapping brought back maybe more like ESO than DA:O though with the front/back bar thing and limiting wariors to say SnS front 2h back, rogues DW front Bow back, mage either a different elemental staff on bars or a melee option in one slot.

In all three games, the rogue is needed to unlock chests and doors. They're needed in DAO, DAA and DA2 to disarm traps. In DAI, a mage is needed to repair a bridge or block an entrance. The warrior is needed to smash a wall. How about having an archer, yes I know, they're rogues, but how about when exploring the group comes across a gap that they're not able to jump across. The main character looks around and sees something that can be used to cross, if it were to be lowered. That's where the archer steps up to the plate and says, "let me take care of that". He/she fires an arrow at a strap or whatever that is holding the object in place, whatever it might be, so that they can cross and continue with their exploring.
In the Golen dlc, the Warden has to use the levers to get through the dlc, even enter a couple of rooms. I wouldn't mind seeing something like that in the next game.
If the fade-touched materials return, I like for them to return, I like for them to be available from the beginning of the game instead of waiting to use them after reaching a certain point in the game like in DAI.

•I really liked the longer “quest lines” on the Wartable, they feel like mini adventures. However, overall it kinda felt like the outcome was irrelevant. Would be nice if it resulted in more meaningful allies/agents or somehow facilitated the final confrontation based on choices.
•Fewer, but larger and meaningful side quests in each region. Perhaps designed to take you through the different areas of the region and give you a chance to naturally go past different smaller quests on the way.

I'm not a die-hard Dragon age fan. I'm mostly just someone who would like to see western style RPG, party system, single player gaming, move forward. And from what I can see Dragon Age is the only real contender.
It would be nice if the Dragon age 4 pulls on the open world aspects of Elder Scrolls 5 and Witcher 3, and find inspiration in Suikoden 2 and Final Fantasy Tactics.
Real time action and pause and play elements would make sense with the player being able to either give orders to party members in real time or pause the action and give more complex commands to party members within (a limited) vocal range. Party members could have classes but should also have custom combat options, how many snipers, tanks, fighters, mages,or so on should be part of the players choice when building a party. Party members experience progression (look at FFT) should be chosen by the player. Ideally party members should have individual experience progression depending on how, and how often they are used.
A home base with many upgrades, Inquisition did a good job for what it had, but I think it could be done better. Suikoden 2 would be a good place to look for more ideas. Ideally the castle should have at least 50 npc and/or party candidates (suikoden 2 had 108) with individual personalities, jobs, and stories.
Meh, just wishing. But I thought i'd put it out there...

It'd be one thing if I were in tactical--then you need to be far away. But I feel far away in regular combat.

I wouldn't mind having a talking darkspawn for a companion in the next game. They are seen in DAA. One in particular is a disciple called the Messenger. It does not attack. It only warns the Warden that the mother is going to attack Vigils keep. It's voiced by Mark Meer. I'm sure folks wouldn't complain if he were to voice a character in the next game. Anyways. What could happen is the main character finds the Disciple wondering in some isolated area. The darkspawn doesn't attack. The main character can have the choice to recruit it or leave the darkspawn alone. I'm sure it would create some interesting dialogue from the companions and npc's.
