That was, what, 5% actual game footage? And the amount of prerendered stuff spliced inbetween quick clips of hits was suspiciously heavy. I mean, it might end up being a good game, sure, but I'm not sure where that proves anyone is "not fucking around". Whoever did the gameplay trailer are very passionate, and it's a PS4 exclusive game and they are known for high quality games. But I digress, my point is that BioWare better step up to make DA4 the best game to redeem themselves. I'd be down for another Inquisition quality like game 👍 I wouldn't mind improvements such as throwing away button mashing combat and the open world BS but I'll take Biowares DA games over nearly anyone else putting out a mid evil fantasy game. I don't think the bar is that high for them outside of Bethesda. CDRED is done with a mainline Witcher game and they have their focus all on Cyber punk, after that, I can't think of anyone else putting out good fantasy games like Bioware. I have to also point out gameplay trailers mean so little, anyone can make them and many tend to mislead.

I have only three Wishes (at the Moment) for DA 4. The Return of the DAO Talents and that Arl Teagan shouldn´t return in DA 4 in any form. And i really miss the Blood Dragon Armor in DAI and in Andromeda. I know its a little weird but i love that we had this one Thing that connected ME2, ME3, DAO and DA 2.

BioWare have done the same thing with Dragon Age and Mass Effect trailers, and they're all lies that they would have a gameplay that matches the trailers. And PS4 exclusive games hardly give out misleading trailers, and BioWare should stop half assing and making excuses. They should start making high quality games or don't make any games at all.

My primary wish for DA4 is... more focus on story and character, and less focus on "exploration".

As far as post-game, "live service" ideas go, taking some inspiration from Fortnite would be an interesting way to go. Having a slow-build event that unfolds over the course of a week or two. Throw in some mystery and maybe a plot twist at the end. Some could be more serious, others more on the light/fun side. Maybe a Fade Rift appears begins terraforming an area in daily bursts over the course of a week. Maybe something slowly assembles over that time - like stairs leading dizzyingly high up into the sky to an Eluvian. Perhaps have a "Spirit March" like the D&D "Great Modron March" (if you've ever heard of it). Think a long parade of spirits that wanders through all the major regions of the game. No explanation why, it just happens. And if you follow along, they'll reveal new... something(s) for you. Maybe clues to another quest. If you wanted to put a fun spin on it, you could instead have "The Great Nug March", with the Nug King leading a parade of his subjects through his "kingdom". Maybe even holding court in each of the regions. Quest giver? Maybe a great storm brews over the course of a week, growing larger each day. Lightning strikes creating fade-touched materials (temp?) as well as striking animals changing them into enhanced, fade-touched versions. It could be dangerous just being in the area though. It might be just start as torrential rains but then turning into into dangerous hail later on, blanket the area in snow on another day, super-heavy fog, all leading to... something. Another example of Fortnite leading the way when it comes to getting people's attention with their "live" events. Eurogamer: Millions just tuned in to Fortnite's stunning end of Halloween live event www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-11-04-millions-just-tuned-in-to-fortnites-stunning-end-of-halloween-live-event

Its 2018 now so I gotta ask... is it possible for us to get scabbards and holsters for our swords? Straps for our shields? Instead of them magically sticking to our back or side when we are not using them? Also, what about visual representations of the rings and belts we equip to boost our stats and grenade/potion capacity? Is there a way we can get this, finally?

Animals that dive in and out of the ground to attack. That's fine, as long as they don't scare the living crap out of me on a daily basis. Running into that in Kingdoms of Amalur. No enemies on the radar but - cutscene! - when spiders/kobolds/sprites/name-your-creepy-crawlies attack!

No enemies on the radar but - cutscene! - when spiders/kobolds/sprites/name-your-creepy-crawlies attack! nah, I wasn't thinking of any cut scenes exactly. I was just thinking of those lizards always on the little islands in that swamp area, as if they aren't probably sliding in and out of the water like aligators. Then thought, wouldn't it be cool if the Two Handed warror slamming their giant axe couldn't get extra damage against a burrowing creature.

Let's bring this thread back to the front page. (Should this be a pinned thread SofaJockey ?? now that the Hype train has started up a bit. up to you) I hope there is a location that allows Dwarven PCs to hear the song of lyrium that other non dwarven PCs could not, similar to how elves could see color in the crossroads. I can't think of anything that would give the Qunari a "special" racial moment, but I guess nobody but the elves got one in DAI either so...

Dragon connection? Hmmm. If there were a higher-est Dragon? Iron Bull never said he could understand/talk to any of the Dragons we killed. Wouldn't it be interesting if we had a Kosith 'Jungle Book' type companion? What if there was a half feral Kosith raised by Dragons companion?

I've probably said this before:
I do not wish to work for the Inquisition. I do not wish for there to be any more time travel. (us being in the Fade while very little time passes in the Real World is acceptable) I do not wish to either knowingly or unknowingly work for Solas. Play a PC from Tevinter. City Elf Option

City Elf Option Not sure I agree with most of this but emphatically one hundred and fifty percent do I want to play as PC from Tevinter. Either with one or 3 though can provide a lot of juicy Role Playing opprotunity, if done well. I agree it might be a risk of falling into a rehash trap but I don't want to dismiss the option out of hand and the no time travel seems like a no brainer.

Shocker, twist and all that. but see how many people were ticked by Morrigan (who you can be rid of), Anders (who you could be rid of) and Blackwall (who you could rid of.) You can't get rid of a small to large portion of a game where you, the player, know you're being tricked like a sap.

If we get Focus powers again, or something like it, I was thinking it would be kind of neat if we could choose the Focus power separately from whatever our specialization is.

You can't get rid of a small to large portion of a game where you, the player, know you're being tricked like a sap.I I doubt it will be for a big portion of the game even if they do it. I think ideally the idea is to have a protag that's pretty much a free agent. He can work with the Inquisition work with Solas (unknowingly maybe), but not actually work for them neccessarily. The other thing is from a writing standpoint you wouldn't include Solas randomly for the protagonist's benefit or for the idea of shocking the player with a twist but with an idea of pleasing them of doing something fan servicey where the player knows more then the protag. Sure it may only work once but that does not inherently invalidate the idea, especially when games are getting so large these days we may only be able to play it once!

Sure it may only work once but that does not inherently invalidate the idea, especially when games are getting so large these days we may only be able to play it once! The once may not even happen, because of the Epic Rage Quit. Although, actually, weren't there metrics on how most people didn't finish DAI or TW3? they lose their steam because it's so big and bored quit or something.
