The only reason for a cooking mechanic is because you have to lug around food to eat to restore your health. No thanks - it takes up inventory space I need for real loot. Just give me health potions (plenty of them) and a way to make more that doesn't cost a fortune.
Just to be clear, I wasn't saying food would replace potions, but rather just exist in game as a different option. Skyrim lets you cook without it being required, and provisioning is a skill in ESO alongside alchemy. Pillars of Eternity also had both. I love the food system in Pillars of Eternity: Deadfire a whole lot. It would be great if a bunch of RPGs stole it in some form.

Or regenerative health. Or healing magic.

Every time I was at one of my houses I would always make one of the meals like clam chowder or horker stew or something and pretend like I'm sitting down for a meal. Or sit at the bar at a town tavern and buy something...it was very immersive. 🍜🍺😄

I just ended up with way too much stuff taking up all my inventory space. Maybe if it was just something to do while at your base rather than out wandering, like all food items get automatically stored back home so I don't lug them around everywhere. Now that I think about it, I think I also carried around a larder full of food in the Witcher games.

I am so disappointed with myself.

I have to admit Pillars Deadfire made me super hungry every time I opened my inventory, my character had a healthy supply of Rauatai cookies and milk during the whole journey. Skyrim also had a very similar effect on me. While its definitely not a vital feature its one of the dozens of little details that make a good game great.

One of the Ultima series had food as a mechanic. I found the party always complained about food and starving... no thanks. If the game has cooking, do it at an Inn or your place with the larder full with basic stuff. Food as a survival mechanic is a no-no in my book.
As to healing magic, well, I always looked at it as repairing an injury and not as an energy booster.
Sigh..... sometimes I replay DA:O for Morrigan's acerbic whit or the mage's AI combat priority list. I would tinker with it and watch my creation either shine or fall terribly. I love this mechanic.

A hunger mechanic would just be pointless busywork getting in the way of me enjoying the story. Health and mana bars are enough, I don't need a bladder gauge or whatever the fuck.

I want to see Imshael again. I know, I know, he can be "dead", or whatever. Mostly, I just want to know what he wanted in exchange for removing the red lyrium. What could be so bad that the templar chose to die in agony instead?

Yeah, it's just not that type of game. And it's not fun in the games where it is there, it's just something to hamper other activities. Fen'harel needs to pee! I'll never understand why Sims fans want to have to do laundry in game, but wah wah realism. Now that conversation Blackwall has with Varric about where he first encountered his book, is coming to mind. It was in a privy and missing pages. XD

Though it would be funny if my character fought an epic dragon and then all of a sudden, collapsed and died from a bladder explosion. I'm all in for the piss and shit mechanic.

I know I posted earlier in the thread adding that I'd like to see a return to tactics, and I haven't been keeping up as I should have. I just curious if anyone added healing magic to the wish list? Because I would love to see it return. Please and thank you.

They actually said we removed healing spells But I think KE has one heal? The rest is barriers and the like. It's not healing like in the first two games. But I guess technically since there is one, it wasn't removed. I would like to have a healing tree or school of magic. I liked playing that

Something I just thought of: In regards to making things more tense and dramatic I think it would be nice to have certain cutscenes and moments programmed to show the wear and tear on the characters. Now I know there may be engine or programming limitations but it would'vebeen nice...say...to have the Inquisitor battling through all those Qunari and then when they go to face Solas they are all beat up looking, maybe some cuts, smears, or disheveled hair...that sort of thing. Make it look like we'vebeen through hell every onceand a while.

1. It is possible to have a team, a warden and a hawke. In my opinion, it will be interesting how our old characters have a more real influence on this cons (my inquisitor should affair with hawke) and regain his hand !!! 2. More slots for skills. 3. We have a limit of 4 characters in the team, it would be nice if there were some tasks where our other heroes support us in missions even by controlling AI. For example i have inquisitor, cassandra Vivienne and Varick in party and iron bull ehith charges support us Those who are not in the main team have a bar of life after which they can die as they will not be careful or will not equip them well

I've posted this in a different thread but... I'd love for a way to break down equipment (armor and weapons) into crafting materials my main draw back in Inquisition was finding all these weapons and armor and finding no use for them except to sell them for coin (and coin I wouldn't need to use because I already had all of the schematics carried over via the golden nug) also I quickly got bored having to farm for materials (also I forgot to do it most of the time), and I hated the fact we could no longer buy materials in stacks from merchants
