In Trespasser, Inquisitor can get married to either Sera or Cullen. If that were to happen in the next game, I would say have that event around the 3/4 mark. Let's put some cruelty or evil into that event.
Near the beginning of the game, the main character starts flirting with a companion/not a companion because he/she likes that character. A little later, the main character sees a former lover. They talk about the past, but at the same time talk about what could have been. If the main character has enough power of the voice, he/she might be able to convince the former lover they belong together. Of course this would be optional for the player. What happens is the main character strings along the other character he/she had feelings for just for whatever. Later on they agree to get married. Just as the ceremony starts, the main character tells his future spouse it's over, and ends up tying the knot with the former lover. The stringed along character is fuming. If the main character has a lot of power in the voice, he can sweet talk his/her way to cushion the blow. No matter what happens, that character is no longer part of the team. If the power of voice fails, that character seeks revenge after walking away. She/he ends up facing the main character near the end to kill him or if the main character added some power to his/her voice, can convince that character to stand down. If not, the main character ends up killing him/her or maybe a companion steps in to kill that character.
Or instead, what if that character gets revenge, but not in a way some would expect? Instead she/he ends up marrying someone that the main character doesn't like? Or marrying one of the other companion's? The main character at that time finds out the dumped character was having relations with that character behind the main character's back.

If we return as Inquisitor, please let us marry the other LIs. I'm still mad that we couldn't even discuss it with Josephine, one of the only LIs you can't despite her being the best fit for it (though I get why there wasn't a full wedding). As for your idea, I don't think they'll do it. For example I doubt they'll introduce a former lover since that establishes the main character's sexuality. Also, all of that sounds awful.

On the other hand in DA:I, I found my self skipping almost every text, including quest entries.Compare to POE,reading in DA:I was all over the place and mostly it was random and hollow. You couldn't follow what was going on and you couldn't trace or you couldn't even make any sense. One of the reasons for this is that also about how the game designed. From UI to engine, from quest system to menus. There wasn't enough space or proper way to give you the necessary lore information. I wish DA:4 gives us the lore in a way that creates immersive reading. The default DAI font for PC was atrocious. So hard to read. And there was no reason it couldn't be the same font as used on the console version; it made 0 sense to me why it would be different.
Mods to change the font to something, not just more eye-pleasing, but at bare minimum readable, helped a great deal. Hopefully they will actually play the game on PC, using KB/M controls, this time instead of just slapping something together and calling it a port. And, just to be safe, let's make sure if a certain control is required for an achievement, that it actually gets put into the KB/M interface, hmm?

Let's put some cruelty or evil into that event I enjoy some romance in DA, but that is straight up a Soap Opera. Not a fan.

Hopefully they will actually play the game on PC, using KB/M controls, this time instead of just slapping something together and calling it a port. This was a consistent point of feedback internally as well (on the DA team anyway). I can't really say much other than more resources/planning are being put in to it this time. As someone who primarily plays games on PC I can certainly agree that it's frequently frustrating (and obvious) when that platform is playing second fiddle.

If they decide to have a possessed Qunari as enemies, they should draw inspiration from Marauder of Doom Eternal. The design is the bomb!

Have I said mini-maps in this thread already? Because you all don’t know how much I miss them.
It frankly makes me exasperated when I have to open the map every 5 seconds to know where I’m going in a big ass region.

The big thing on my list is transparency in game mechanics. Bio's been getting steadily worse at this since... NWN, I guess. (Not just Bio, though.) Yeahthis stuff eventually winds up on a wiki someplace, but it'd be nice to have it from the get-go.

This is very unlikely (and would probably be considered superfluous), but I like the idea of companions'/important NPCs' appearance changing over time. Especially if we're with them over the course of several years, as with DA2 or DAI --> Trespasser.
Like it'd be neat if, I dunno, Isabela sported shorter hair in Act 2 and grew it out again by Act 3, or Josephine got a different frilly Antivan ensemble for Trespasser.
The comics did this a little with Fenris, and the epilogue slides with Dorian. But it'd be a neat little feature in-game.

Yeahthis stuff eventually winds up on a wiki someplace, but it'd be nice to have it from the get-go. I do have to agree on this. Ability descriptions were pretty inaccurate as early as DAO (getting worse in translation), but since I'm playing it right now, I dare say that the award of "bad documentation of gameplay features" goes to Battle Realms, an otherwise great RTS from the early 2000s. Six damage types, with no standardised armor types making every unit react widely different as well as certain features that were only hinted at in a half sentence in the manual (like Lotus watchtowers being able to teleport units between each other!) are hard to beat.

Hmm. It's readable on my system, no problems at all. What's your monitor, resolution, and distance? None of that was the problem. The issue is an all caps font with completely straight lines for every letter. Like shown in this post: bsn.boards.net/post/1351057/thread

Playng AC:Odyssey, Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, Kingdom Hearts 3, Shadow of the Colossus... I'm realyzing ther is one thing I really, really miss while playng Inquisition... and is the photo mode! I love taking picks of my Inquisitors, and I'd like to have the option without having to rely on cutscene only, or just being able to make pictures of the surroundings without the minimap on the side.
A "pause" button during cutscene would be absolutely great too!!!

If there's the same number of companions as there was in DAI, how about having a bonus if the main character travels with 3 companions that are the same class? If all are mages, how about a 5%, or maybe a 10%, bonus in damage(fire/freeze/electricity), or defense or cooldown or raise mana by 5% that is applied for all? The same for rogues and warriors. If all are wearing the same armor, another bonus could be added. The same for weapons.

I had so many times to restart a part because phone/person/dog interrupted my gaming time. Is very annoyng.

If I get one wish of any granted its to never give me another "forced slow movement" cutscene like just before The Dawn will Come.
The scene is emotional enough to get away with it once, and the mission up until the avalanche is probably my favourite dragon age moment. But that slow trudge through the snow followed by an unskippable Dawn will come is Inquisitions equivalent of the Fade. Ive replayed Inquisition a lot, but that avalanche to skyhold section has stopped me from starting more.

Another thing I hope devs will think of when making DA4: font size: I've played a little of Andromeda lately, end I almost lost my sight just to read a few mail. And let's not talk about dialogues. Not everyone have english as motherlanguage, make those subtitles and anything written readable! I have a big tv, yet most font are not easily readable from were I sit. Plus white font on light/white screen is not. Readable.
And not make the subs for the banter disappear when ambient dialogue start! I've lost so many dialogues because of the ambient dialogues! Is frustrating!
Do devs not controls the font for the consoles versions of the games?

I'd say they should have ambient comments ("Look! There! A Kett outpost!") take a lower priority to banter in general, not the other way around as in Andromeda. Also, DAI's interactive banter was a nice touch, but please find a way for it not to come up if I'm currently ambushed by bears.

There was a point in Trespasser, in the Deep Roads section, I think, where I had hit the trigger for a conversation with romanced Dorian, and about mid way through it we got ambushed by qunari. Given the subject (reminiscing on how we met, etc) it seemed rather appropriate to have that talk in the middle of a fight.

I love me some Carta dwarves - Dwarf Commoner is my favorite origin in DAO - but two out of three dwarf PC backgrounds have been Carta backgrounds so far, so my hope is that the next has shades of the Dwarf Noble origin in DAO... full of politics and intrigue, social climbing and backstabbing, toxic tradition, an abundance of ceremony, the weight of one's ancestry. I think some kind of Ambassadoria background would capture this best, since it's simultaneously tied in with Tevinter but also with dwarven traditions (the embassies being underground, the fact that Proving arenas exist in Tevinter at all). Alternatively, having a wild card Kal-Sharok background would be cool, too. We could see (and live!) the ways they're very different from Orzammar or surface dwarves, how the Blight has apparently "changed" them. I'd be interested in seeing traditional dwarves with entirely different traditions from the ones we've known. More dwarven cultures that aren't just Orzammar and Shifty Surface Smuggler.
And I think it would be neat if we had more flexibility with our next Qunari PC. We could start as a pit fighter/slave/captured POW, and decide for ourselves if we're Tal-Vashoth, Vashoth, or a Qunari loyalist or spy. I hope they don't go the mercenary route again, partly because we've already had that with Adaar (and Bull, to an extent, as well as many minor background characters esp in DA2 and DAO), and partly because Tevinter has suuuuuch a different relationship with Qunari. There are sooooo many interesting angles you could go with it beyond "unusually large merc".

Ah, I miss origin stories terribly, and their inclusion in DA4 would definitely catch my interest. Although ideally I'd like a good variety, I think some are particularly called for in each race: - A human commoner background. Seriously, three games and we've technically never gotten this.
- That said, a "magister" background would be a powerful contrast to everything we've gotten before...
- A city elf. I like them a lot better, and we haven't been able to play one since DA:O.
- A "traditional" dwarf, as others have said. Not seen since DA:O, plus it'd be a shame if they didn't work that Ambassadoria connection.
- A qunari that's culturally Qunari (whether loyalist or Tal-Vashoth), rather than one that just looks the part.

Not a game feature but a pre-game feature: more world state slots in DA Keep, assuming it will be used for DA4.

maybe they'll even update certain tiles depending on choices that'll be imported into DA4 I imagine the biggest choices that'll impact things are whether or not you disbanded the Inquisition and what Quizzy's choice is regarding Solas (stop or redeem) likely also who you chose as Divine, and whoever drank from the Well of Sorrows
