Detroit: Become Human

I enjoy following David Cage, not because I like his work but because his games are fucking horrible and he and his games are fun to laugh at, of course that does not mean I am going to buy and support the game, I learned my lesson with Heavy Rain. To be honest I am surprised there are still fans of his work, when Heavy Rain came out most of the people praising it were only praising it because of the Emperor's new clothes effect, the game was sold as this mature, emotional (David Cage's favorite word) story driven game for the mature gamer and if you did not agree you were an immature kiddie who only plays Call of Duty so of course the games media (and a handful of vocal toadies and pretentious dickheads) was all over the title talking about how stunning the emperor's clothes were, however after it had been out for a while and people with sense got their hands on it it was revealed that the emperor is in fact naked and by the time his next game came out (the one wot has Ellen Page in it) David Cage and his games were largely recognized as a joke.

Surprised there are still people looking forward to Detroit as if they have forgotten what David Cage's work is actually like but I am sure when Detroit actually comes out there will be a new batch of awkward sex scenes and stupid writing to laugh at.

I'm not surprised. considering that all of the Official Trailers for the Game thus far have no sexual content, I would not think it would be a focus.

City Elf Origin in DAO is my favorite Origin. That fact that rape and attempted rape was in it was what made it so real to me that it tapped into my emotions easily. I'm not afraid of rape as game content. I guess it's kinda creepy if he keeps putting rape in all his games...but then, every Game Dev puts killing people with guns/swords in their games and I don't judge them for that.

I've actually never played any of the aforementioned games. I have no idea who this David person (though apparently he is the writer of said games). I merely thought the idea of Detroit looked interesting.

As always, when it comes out, I'll make up my own mind.

I know I watched some of that Beyond Two Souls when it came out on a stream or something and it was so incredibly boring. I mean, there was no game play. It was like watching a movie and then sometimes they would push a button. If it's like that, I have no interest.

I don't fault David Cage for putting sex and attempted rape scenes in his games, I fault David Cage for being a pretentious twat and a bad writer which in turn leads to awkward and cringy sex and rape scenes, I especially like the press release he sent out to reviewers wanting them to refer to him as an "auteur of video games" though to be fair to David Cage this might be a typo.

The thing that came to mind when you said Mass Effect Movie was, Final Fantasy the Spirits Within.

I like his bit about how videogames have the potential to be more than what movies offer, because it's true. It's the same reason why I often find myself looking forward to a series more than a film. A game allows the long format that lets many narratives and characters flesh out to a [hopefully] cohesive whole, on a level that no single film could ever capture, while being on top of the interactivity that makes it so engaging in the first place.

How do you find the demo on PS? I searched the store but all I could find was to pre-order the game.  I know nothing about PS.
