I really didn't care for the storyline for Diablo 3. SO I'll give this a pass until I learn more about it.

Finally got around to watching the cinematic trailer, "By Three They Come." Suitably creepy. I liked the evolution of Lilith's cape from the blood of the "volunteers". Now that the nephalim have returned, I guess it's only suitable that mommy (and maybe daddy?) return also. I'm sure it's mentioned somewhere in the lore but, do we know why/how/by whom Lilith was imprisoned?

We're remaking all the things it seems.
Diablo 2 resurrected
This was the only Diablo where I really got into the loot farming. I loved the Assassin and Necromancer.

Anyone planning to play Diablo 4? I'm desperate for a new game! I played 3 - it was ok. I've read some decent reviews for Diablo 4, so I'm hoping it will be a decent game. Thoughts?

Anyone planning to play Diablo 4? I'm desperate for a new game! I played 3 - it was ok. I've read some decent reviews for Diablo 4, so I'm hoping it will be a decent game. Thoughts? It is absolutely massive for a Diablo game. I did half of what was available to do in Act 1 and was still level 30 when I finally got a move on to Act 2 with a promise to "come back for everything later". Much bigger than previous Diablo games. I think there were 23 dungeons in Act 1 you could do, not counting cellars and things you can dive into. It is incredibly dark, reminds me more of Diablo 1. Some people will like it, some people won't. I've honestly been enjoying myself more than I did in either 3 or 2. It definitely feels like a return to form. I feel like half the reason I like this Diablo more than others is they got rid of the idea that the overworld had to be procedurally generated, which for me makes exploration a bit more chill. I can plan my routes, they can put interesting things in the world, you can see events, you can see other people around, there's quests, I dunno it feels really nice. The 120+ dungeons are procedurally generated though. The thing everyone is waiting to do before they can go totally crazy is take a look at the endgame, take a look at what seasons are like, and take a look to see if the Battlepass will truly be cosmetic only. It will be about a month before those questions are answered. If people like casually grinding, casually checking things off your checklist, you'll get 100 hours easily out of the game without even touching the endgame content.

Played the Server Slam. Loved it! Got the standard version though. Didn’t want to pay $20 just for this weekend (and had to finish Jedi Survivor first anyway). So Tuesday it is. Really looking forward to it though.

I have just finished Act 3 with the early access. I would agree with the assessment that it is more like Diablo 2 with some sprinkling of Diablo 3. I haven't done much of the side quests yet for I wanted to get access to the horse before walking everywhere all the time to pickup everything. My biggest complaint is that the bosses feel spongy with all the health they have and I feel stuck. Normal enemies are too easy, but I don't want to feel like I spent 20 min fighting bosses. A quibble I have is that Sorcerers can't have a wand/relic and a staff equipped so both setups can be easily updated with new gear. The other complaint I am seeing and it hasn't been a problem for me is some people are saying the inventory is too small, but I haven't experienced that I just make sure I empty my bags before setting off.

That's the druid life right there also. Tanky and good AOE damage, but bosses take a loooong time xD My fingers kinda hurt on a few of them. And oh boy Blizzard just nerfed all the top builds yesterday lol. And I think Barb only had one top build so rip Barb.

Yes it's mostly a single player game with a few exceptions (there's a PvP zone you never have to enter called the Plains of Hatred, and there's optional group play). You will see other people around but no interaction is necessary. I have never interacted with anyone else in the game so far. You do need to be online to play it though which is a bit of a bummer.

Alright, spent a pretty intense first day in the game. Level 40 now and probably about 1/3 into act 2 (so actually not that far beyond the beta yet). Well, I can say that I am having lot's of fun. it plays really well and other players aren't much of a concern. My biggest fear was that the game would just be crawling with other people but Blizzard seems to keep only a few players in the same world instance/shard/phase whatever you want to call it. Point is, outside of the towns you'll only run into another player very occasionally and I am ok with that. Story is very cool so far, the world is great and the addictive "just one more quest/dungoen" already kicked in big time.

Just started playing and its a lot of fun! Tried a sorcerer briefly and then a rogue. I think I prefer the rogue and am focusing more on bows than knives at this point. Any advice about the best skills to inves in would be appreciated!

I started playing the game with my brother on the launch day. We used to play Diablo 2 a lot back in the day, so this is a sort of nostalgia trip for us. The gameplay feels good, I'm playing a stabby-stabby rogue wich is fun. We've played about six hours so far, we've only gotten to the two first towns as we have cleared out most of the dungeons we've run into. We started on the second difficulty tier and it's been challenging enough, not too many deaths so far, but enough to know not to rush too far ahead from each other. I like how they got rid of mana/health bottle hoarding as well as the inventory tetris. I am somewhat annoyed about not being able to run a private game, no offense but I do not like other people that much I really liked how the game started, a little change from the usual Diablo. Lilith seems like an awesome character

Do dungeons level up with you or can you go in overpowered for easy experience and loot They scale to your level, but I have grouped with a friend that was a lower level and group lead and the dungeon was a level lower than me. Strongholds will always be +2 levels as well.

I think Blizzard might have overdone it a little with their advertisement campaign in New York City.

Just finished the story today and I am happy to say - without spoilers - that they did save some spectacle for the end. I am very happy with how the conclusion to it turned out. I am level 54 now, probably spent a bit too much time during the story doing side stuff. But the good news is that I was already entirely overpowered for the capstone dungeon and could unlock and start in Nighmare mode with ease. Now the item hunt can truely begin.

I have finished the main story myself. I also took the time to fully explore the map, find all the Lilith statues, complete the strongholds, and get all the waypoints. I started a new character just to see what carried forward and with how the Tree of Whispers works I am surprised the waypoints that weren't controlled by the strongholds didn't carry forward. I am currently working on a mix of side-quests and tasks for the Tree of Whispers, but I have been finding the story to be on the emotional level that after awhile I just need to walk away for the rest of the day for it just gets a little too much of a downer. Now that I am to the point of issues with my PC that I need to reformat I am probably going to take a couple of days away to get that done.

Yeah, I tuned down my Diablo 4 playing considerably in the last couple of days (granted, it was a bit excessive last week ). My character is in her early 60s now and I have to say, the endgame kinda sucks IMO.
The fact that progress is slowing down a lot is fine, I was expecting that but I just don't find the events very fun to do. Especially the nightmare dungeons are a chore and you'd have to run dozens of them in order to level u your glyphs. Sure, in Diablo 3 you also had to run a crapton of Rifts as well but at least in the Rifts, you could just walk through and kill monsters and at the end, you get a noticable power boost through XP, legendary gem upgrades and a good load of items. Here, if you walk down the wrong side corridor by chance, you might have to walk back through an empty dungeon for minutes just to get that stupid second key you need to get to the end. The key searching was fine when I was just doing a dungeon every now and then to get an aspect during the story but when you have to do them in bulk it's just useless and annoying. I really hope they remove that for nightmare dungeons.
And then the other events like whisper-tree quests and helltides ... they are all timed which means you are always on the game's schedule rather than just being able to play a quick session if you happen to have the time. And then, once you are in a place to do stuff, you can't pause the game, e.g. to tab out and choose a new youtube video to run in the background or make a goffee or something.
I don't thnik I'll ever get my char to level 100. As for new classes, I want to wait for the season to start before I try another one.
