I actually love the start of the game, the opening cinematics, arriving in Andromeda and I really like the intensity of Habitat 7. What kills me is then having to go to The Nexus and all that build up slips away as you get sucked into a talk fest. But then Eos reignites it As to actual dialogue, yes there are some clangers like the one that Cora drops "feel like I haven't seen you for 600 years" or whatever she says but it certainly isn't the worst dialogue I have come across.

I can’t believe people are even defending it. It’s a meme for a reason. I challenge anyone to find the line "sorry, my face is tired" in a published novel, and unlike Lebanese Dude's challenge, this isn't a challenge for just a handful of my friends. Out of the flaws with this game, the socially maladjusted histrionic reaction to "my face is tired" is ridiculous. I'm not defending the line. It's stupid millenial snapchat-speak and had no place in the script. However, the flood of memes and butthurt over it was even more absurd than using that sentence in the game. It was a bunch of hurt immature people looking for anything scream about even beyond actual things to get angry about with the story and/or development of the game. Basically the "omgz no sheparddddd!!!!!! etc." crowd needed to flex. Now that they've gone on to other noble (lol) causes to focus their histrionics on, people can make up their minds about the game and see its upside without the sea of shit.

My point was more that you have this great build up with all the opening cinematics and Habitat 7 but then you go to The Nexus and the game just becomes a talk fest for too long.

The my face is tired line is interesting, and was taken out of context to make a meme, not that it's the first time that's happened. I believe she says she is putting on a face for everyone, then says something else, then returns to deliver the face is tired line. So while awkward on it's own, it's less so in context. And it is part of the poetry under stress quirk of Addison. Maybe one of the writers picked it up while in Oz going by Dazk comment. Still I see it partly as part of her poetry thing, not necessarily good poetry. Anyway games are always rife with good as well as bad lines.

Played it again. This time it gained more points than on the first run, especially in the story telling department as I read and listened stuff more throughly. It starts a bit slow, but the Habitat 7 is wonderful. After Eos-Voeld-Aya, the games main mission starts to go into the background (and for me it starts even before, because I'm engulfed by the exploration ), and on Kadara-H047b-Elaaden slowly trickles back to the play. I love to get lost so to say, into the side missions and places. Companions motives are now much better understood and felt, than on the first playthrough. Khi-Tasira to Meridian was wayyyy amazing, the only thing I didnt like was how we got Phalanx for "gun" when the sibling was in play. Overall, I'm itching to play it again immediately, and the end makes one really hopeful for continuation.

I agree with you re the story flow etc. and yeah getting stuck with a pistol in general was annoying as I never use them except for the modded Hornet.

Ikr? Tearing a game apart over a single sentence is absurd. Yeah, it's almost as if people were using it as an example of the game's many flaws instead of tearing the game apart over a single sentence. But MEA didn't have any other flaws, so that can't be the case....

Yeah, it's almost as if people were using it as an example of the game's many flaws instead of tearing the game apart over a single sentence. But MEA didn't have any other flaws, so that can't be the case.... Half the fault of this are the one-eyed defenders of the game. Everybody I know who played the game had a giggle over the sentence, threw out a few jokes about it, used it as an example of how bad the writing could get, shook their head and moved on. However when people stupidly try to defend a horrible line, they force people to delve into exactly why that line is horrible (in depth) which can seem like the game is being torn apart over a single sentence when it's not. I don't know why people are upset over the flood of memes. That line (combined with the horrible facial animation) was so bad it was meme-worthy and so memes were created. Accept it and move on *shakes head*

Played it almost all weekend... Had a good time actually. I guess I have come to terms with the way it is structured. All missions I did could be considered side-quests. Most of them were engaging enough. I actually want to keep playing, for the first time in quite a while. Too bad I have to work xD

Where are you at in the game? I find that after you go to Aya for the first time the game is far better paced. I discovered this PT that if after doing what was necessary on Aya, if I do Havarl and then only do the rescue of the Moshae on Voeld (and return her to Aya) and then return to EOS the game seems better paced as well.

I'm not sure, but I think I'm close to the end-game. I was mostly doing all the Elaaden quests. Already have the settlement. Only have to do the vault now. There are some other side-quests here and there on the other hubs, but all other places already have settlements and 100% viability. I will be doing all remaining side quests before I proceed with the main mission.
