The only thing I will say on this topic is its quite...raping of my wallet...to have Episode IX and Avengers 4 in the same year.

Grew up with the 90s cartoons (X-Men, Batman, Superman) and read enough comic books, so would have been let down even if these movies were good. When cartoons for kids are better then movies made for adults, what a world.

This basically surmises my thoughts on the MCU but is more polite then I'd be about it.

I firmly believe that the MCU is the Star Wars of our time. There's a lot of memorable movies to come about the past 10 years. A lot will even be remembered by minorities of the film-watching public. Decades from now a ton of nerds will remember the Dark Knight trilogy and how it was a lot better than the DCEU(or not. Opinions differ). The Martian will be a favorite among NASA fans. Folks will vaguely recall that a movie about a deaf girl banging a fishman(A Shape of Water) won best Picture at the Oscars. But even the folks who go to the theater once a year will know about the Avengers and the MCU. They won't know all of the heroes, certainly not by name. Chances are that they'll only have seen a few of the movies, and not in any particular order. But they will know who Iron Man and Captain America, the Hulk("He has a non-Hulk version, too. That doctor guy. Bill Banning or something") and maybe Thor("That guy with the long blond hear and the hammer. Played by Chris Whatshisname") are, and that they killed some generic aliens on a soundstage that was supposed to be New York. I'm astonished how good these films have gotten. They're not just superhero flicks anymore. They cross genre boundaries. Thor: Ragnorok was practically a comedy, complete with slapstick. The Guardians movies are musicals, complete with a Mary Poppins cameo and Footloose references. Ant-Man was a heist movie. Captain America: Winter Soldier was a political thriller. Thor: Dark World was.... something. The point being these movies cover a lot of bases. And taken as a whole they're a cinematic achievement that sets a high bar. It'll be interesting to see how long this superhero shchtick lasts. I thought it would last a decade, tops. I was so, so wrong. Given how great Infinity War was, I'm glad. My MCU order, for the record. Tier 1, the cream of the crop: 1. Infinity War 2. Captain America: Civil War 3. Guardians of the Galaxy 4. The Avengers 5. Captain America: The First Avenger 6. Iron Man 3 7. Thor 8. Iron Man 9. Captain America: Winter Soldier (Captain America, ftw)
Tier 2, the really good but not GREAT ones: 10. Avengers: Age of Ultron 11. Spiderman: Homecoming 12. Ant-Man 13. Doctor Strange 14. Thor: Ragnarok
Tier 3, the still good but mostly because of their MCU connection: 15. Thor: Dark World 16. Iron Man 2 17. Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2 18. The Incredible Hulk
Have yet to see: Black Panther(I know, I'm a terrible person. It's on my list.)
I must have a thing against second installments, because none of them really wowed me. Even the second Avengers film only reached Tier 2. And Guardians Vol. 2 is one of my least favorites, and its predecessor is in my top 3. Go figure.

Couldn't have said it better and that's what I love about them. They literally have something for everyone yet tell a mostly cohesive story. If anything Infinity War was proof of concept given that it blended the more musical light moments of Guardians with...well an Avengers movie.

I pretty much throw my money at Disney thanks to the MCU (and in some form Disney’s licensing deal with LEGO), and I regret not a penny spent.
I’m ranking Infinity War at the very top at the moment, with Winter Soldier, Civil War, Iron Man 1 and Ragnarok alongside it in my top 5. I think The First Avenger deserves an honorable mention. I think Cap’s my favorite of the lot, though Thor really came into his own with Ragnarok and now this.
I don’t know how WB could possibly compete with all this. Since the Dark Knight trilogy ended it was pretty much drunken stumbling about.

I just hope that all that emotion we felt wasn't pointless with the ending. Some of that emotional payoff needs to be there when you go on a MCU binge by the time you get to Infinity War. Otherwise, it doesn't mean that much in the end. Right now Civil War is my favorite. With Infinity War being 2. That being said, the culmination of 10 years of buildup. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome.

I think it’s a safe assumption that the “dusted” group mostly if not entirely gets reversed, with the ones done in by Thanos’ own hand staying dead, as they really should be. There’s one particular character I want to stay dead and simply never return, even though I liked them. The post-credit scene seems to hint at the ace up their sleeve in the follow-up film, but I really hope they don’t ass-pull their way all the way to the start of the film. I’d prefer they just stick to what happens at the finger-snap. But yeah, as of now, I’m in love with how they ended it. I just hope it keeps this momentum.

I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. Honestly I think the best way to get out of what they did at the end of Infinity War, IE reverse what happened, is to include their own sacrifice at the end. Sacrifice one of the surviving Avengers in order to give another one of the Avengers the opprotunity to 'fix' things. That way you can get the emotional cost. Only death can pay for life, etc etc etc. Hell this also plays into the whole thing too considering sacrifcing themselves is something the Avengers were adamant about not doing in Infinity War to begin with. Anyways: Also this:

The wholething I also find curious about the whole ending thing that I would caution everyone on. You have to remember that the three movies that we know are in development post Infinity War 2 or Avengers 4 all have heroes who inherit their title in one way or another.
Black Panther is merely the latest King of Wakanda and Black Panther and there could easily be one after him, hell there was a Black Panter after T'Challa in his movie.
Spider Man, in the comics, wasn't just Peter Parker but also Miles Morales and we have been introduced t Miles's father (apparently) already in the MCU. So Spider Man Homecoming 2 could easily feature MM and not the disintegrated Peter Parker.
And finally we have the Guardians of the Galaxy which, at least according to something I have heard on the Guardians of the Galaxy, Peter Quill and gang are not the Guardians from the comics, but apparently we were introduced to the 'real' Guardians at the end of Guardians 2.
Granted I fully expect them to reverse it given apparently we have seen set pictures from HC2 with Tom Holland but given that Marvel has already pulled this trigger (though yes it also comes from the comics) they could easily stick to their guns and decide to keep 3 billion people dead...or is it 3.5 now?

Since Tom Holland’s already slated for the next film, I’d say it’s a guarantee that he’s coming back, but if he’s coming back, I’m certain that all the heroes that disappeared after Thanos completed the gauntlet along with him come back too. I really can’t think of a reason why only some would return and others wouldn’t.
In any case, it’s way too soon to get rid of Tom Holland’s character. I’d hate that they finally nailed Spider-Man after all these years, just to toss him out. I don’t really care one way or another about Myles Morales, but I’m not on board with supplanting this version just as he’s getting into the fray.
As for GotG, I feel like getting rid of the old group might be marketing suicide for that lot. Replacing them would be a really hard sell. Disney’s been good about casting people into the roles of new heroes, but I’ve yet to see their attempt to replace old ones, and I’m not optimistic.

You have a point, the superhero genre is definitely very diluted. I take the good with the bad, & IMHO the bad Marvel movies have been pretty rare. Also, those are all LEGENDARY action flicks. Back in the day, when filmmakers had a SPINE

All I need is the Holy Trinity that is Steve, Bucky and Sam. So of course, the best movies are the Captain America ones, because obviously, Cap is the best hero.
And as an unpopular opinion: Ragnarok and IW were not half as good as people claim they are. Age of Ultron was complete shit and never should've happened.

And you said a few threads back that Manners are of great importance to you uh calling everyone ( also everyone at the Marvel studio i assume ) who likes/love the Marvel movies cocksuckers is not really talking of great manners. Thats still great manners for a dirty sailor on shore leave or a drunk beggar so its all good. It's all relative.
