Buffy the Vampire Slayer. They don't make shows like that anymore. Trying to get my teenage daughter to watch this ATM. She's reading a Buffy book and seems keen, Fingers Crossed.

I've yet to see it and I dunno if I could watch a show focusing on Angel, he's so dull and depressing. I can see where the "broody vampire" type from Twilight and future vampire shows come from, there's at least one in each show. And a werewolf.
A friend told me it's just as good though, same sort of humour etc.
Angel grows a lot, he's definitely not the same character he is in Buffy.
That being said, the rest of the cast is really the selling point. There is some of the best character development I've seen onscreen there. Wesley, by the end of the show, it's unbelievable who he is. Becomes my second favourite buffyverse character. Cordy changes dramatically, you still see the bitchy cheerleader in there but she's matured and has survived a lot. There's another female character that's introduced later that is amazing. She has some changes that I don't want to spoil but I don't want to undersell either and she nails em. She acts phenomenally in some really brutal scenes.
Faith also makes some appearances and has some of her best work in Angel. Eliza Dushku the actress, really gets to shine there. The show is about people fighting the endless fight for redemption. Faith gets to grow a lot in that soil. If you like Faith it's a compelling reason to watch.
If you like Spike, and I personally love him, he shows up too. And the first time he does is fucking hilarious.
Mmmmm you post makes me think I should re-watch Buffy hopefully with my teenage daughter (as per post above) and watch Angel as I have never watched it. When Angel left and they started the seperate show I just didn't have the time to watch it.

Watched the first two episodes of "Away" first 30 minutes I was like mmmmmm not sure but it got better. Hilary Swank looks slightly different than I remember from other movies, maybe she's had something done but I can't put my finger on it.

Ugh, it's macabre but at least I learned where the inspiration for Chucky came from, Candice Bergman's past (in the doll ep), the amusing and ironic tale of Burke and Hare, the body snatchers resorting to this trade to get money. Amusing / macabre because money signs went off over the heads of their victims at the restaurant / pub they patronised as the tale went on and Burke's corpse ended up displayed in a museum, worth over a million pounds.

Still watching Buffy, about midway through season four. At first I was bummed due to a couple of the characters leaving the show... I really like Cordelia and Faith, but ESPECIALLY Cordelia cause she's a bitch but at least she's on the "good side".
Always thought Angel was boring but he was still an important part of the show.
So I was skeptical about the transition, cause often when shows change too much they begin to suck. To my surprise, it's actually better than the previous seasons and I'm officially enthralled. It's a matter of finding the time for both this and AC: Valhalla.

Buffy (and Angel, for that matter) is one of those rare shows that steadily gets better - in my opinion - right the way through to the end that it chose.

Last time I watched Buffy and Angel I used this Watch Order Guide. I liked it, there aren't a lot of episodes with crossover but there are enough to justify it. Was also nice to add a bit of variety, and I liked that the guide is formatted in such a way that you can watch "up to this point" rather than just alternating them. I watched them as they were airing back in the day so there might've been some nostalgia in there too to be fair.

I've looked for it elsewhere and no platform has Angel, except for the Xbox Store and I really don't wanna pay that much for it..
Though Buffy is pretty good, I might. There was an episode in season 4 that had a flashback to an Angel episode and I was all wtf.

Angel took itself a bit more seriously than Buffy did, although it still had the trademark humour of Whedon.
The ending of the series would likely have received the GoT treatment if it had aired in the age of social media, though.

The fight for redemption is endless, so it makes sense that it ends on a cliffhanger. There's not light at the end of the tunnel, the tunnel just keeps going. That's the beautiful thing about Angel, he keeps fighting. Keeps sacrificing.
"Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. It's harsh and cruel. But that's why there's us: Champions. Doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done—or even if we make a difference. We live as though the world were as it should be—to show it what it can be." Judging by the vile crap on the subreddit I often see, Season 4's treatment of Cordy is the thing that'd get people up in arms. People on there flat out hate Joss Whedon for it.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I loved the ending. It just wasn’t a typical ending of the “heroes journey”, and as such, a certain segment of the current entertainment consumer population would’ve been up in arms. That’s the only point I was trying to make. And your spoilered points are both spot on.

Sooo... did anyone here give "Barbaren" (Barbarians) on Netflix a watch?
I watched it and I'm a bit conflicted. Some things I really loved about the show (Romans finally speak Latin, the setting in general, and some of the storylines) while I was quite disappointed with others (among others, I felt that sometimes the pacing was really off, similar to GoT's final season). I'd be really curious about opinions!

Taking a break from the Buffyverse, stopping at season six and decided to watch Lovecraft Country instead. Seven episodes in and I'm really enjoying it, it's got all the right stuff... weirdness and gore, but you can expect that from a HBO series.

Watched the first season of "Another Life" first half I just wanted to stop watching as the acting and whole cast and story seemed to be too much in terms of it being a socially correct construct and completely non-functional as a crew of a spaceship. Plot devices were too cliche and some of the crews actions were just ridiculous. However it turned a corner about two thirds through due to some culling of crew members and the overall premise coming more into play.
Season 2 is supposedly still a go but I have no idea when it is due out.

I bought and watched the tv series Supergirl needless to say this series sucks a little the special effects are absolutely garbage. I did like Kara Danvers ( a.k.a. Supergirl ) but i did not like Supergirl that much. She just looses to many battles the first time that it became boring at some point.

Looks interesting but I haven't watch this. The Roman legions look right but I'm not sure about the individual fights scenes; whether it took place when the legions routed.

Finished and thoroughly liked it, it wasn't too serious and light entertainment but I liked most of the characters especially Beatrice and Ava and the story was interesting if not 100% new. Buffy light with Demons instead of Vampires at the fore. Solid 7 out of 10.

I've finished CLONE WARS about a week or so ago, maybe two...and anyway, now I'm on Season 2 of REBELS and enjoying that. One thing I'm not sure of is....are Hera and Kanaan married? Because sometimes they act like it and talk like it...then others, not so much. In the later parts of the series I was under the impression (having only seen bits and pieces here and there before now) that they did get hitched...But I think it was as early as Season 1, where in one really early on, number 3 or something, Hera affectionately refers to Kanaan as "love", and they hadn't been together very long as far as the running of the show is concerned.
Anybody know for certain?

I have been watching a lot of episodes of 'House' the last week as they are having some kind of marathon on a free preview of a tv channel.
I forgot just how much I liked that show.
