This, I don't really care about to hear about the past stuff if there is any. I feel like it could just be optional, like ask the right questions and those determine if the character leans one way or another. Since they're doing playrsexual, they could be anything after all.

You can't have a group called the Veilguard and get mad at the one lady wearing a veil. 

Honestly she's showing everyone else up. 

I can only hope that it doesn't end in such chaos as in BG3. I doesn't care what it is in BG3 but the romancesystem was creepy.

Even worse is when some spirit pretending to be human blurts it out after reading their mind (I'm looking at your Cole). I thought I was doing so well with Dorian and then I'm told he's still thinking about some guy he lusted after in Tevinter. I do hope we don't get anything similar this time round as it really killed the mood with me. In fact I found a lot of Cole's monologues highly inappropriate and he never seemed to take the hint when people objected. How come he never detected how uncomfortable it made the person feel whose secrets he had just revealed?

Hopefully, we don't get a repeat with Manfred. I wonder if he can speak or is a silent servant? Audric was able to speak in Tevinter Nights but he was still in his old body that was reanimated after it died, a bit like Justice in DAA really, but Manfred is an actual skeleton, although I suppose there is no reason why that should limit his ability to speak as it would be the spirit that was communicating.

I don't object when that's their choice. What I objected to was Cole blurting out information uncalled for. If Dorian had wanted to tell me that was fine but it was like someone gossiping after being told something in confidence. Then I was stuck with information I'd rather not have heard and I am sure Dorian never wanted to tell me either. Perhaps he was just being wistful about the former guy because he hadn't ever taken it any further as a relationship and wished he had now he knew how fulfilling our relationship was. I was okay with that but it would have been better if he had told me himself or was given the opportunity to say something to me specifically after Cole spilled the beans on him, but that didn't happen, so I was left to fill in the gaps for myself.

I never had a problem with Zevran telling me about his  past (dead) love of his life.   It was relevant to explaining his current situation and even how he felt about my character.   That was the difference between the two.

As someone with autism, I felt Cole was very relatable for this exact reason. I can't imagine it was intentional, but for me he was a very surprising, accidental representation which I very much appreciated.

Perhaps you are right and that is what they were going for. I do understand as I have worked with many students with autism. It is just my students couldn't read my mind but Cole could and as a spirit of compassion should have sensed it was upsetting me. That's the difference.
