Well, the color of the stains won't keep. But maybe you'll like the effect as it fades? The red will probably go first.

My kind of craft, I built me my own rifle from a 60% factory parts kit from 1975. Took me about 50 hours and an arsenal of tools to finish it.

That's how I got it, a bunch of very rough, old parts. 



After about 50 hours of sanding, inletting, soldering, rust-bluing, drilling & tapping, grinding, staining, oiling, polishing and needle-filing:



I especially like woodwork, I went nuts on the stock to get it right. Also it turned out to be very high grade walnut, additional to the normal horizontal grain it also has vertical grain , thats is called ''tiger stripes''. It can also look like ripples in water.  Many fake it with paint to get that look, this wood however is the real deal. 

7x57 Mauser. That's a .284 bullet diameter, long heavy sleek projectiles (175-190 grain) at moderate velocities (2500-2600 fps). 

Recoil is comparatively mild and its excellent for long range shooting. 



Thats cool! I knew you could color clothes with berry juice, but wood?  Looks nifty, I like the colors and it looks sturdy.

Couldn't you put those wooden holding pieces with screws at the bottom of the table? You would have a nice clean table then.
