I'm planning on building a very large medieval town in real LEGO bricks. I'm still in the early planning stages using CAD, but this is my first prototype of a medieval building. 800 bricks. 

Believable. I like the detail with the larger upper floor since this a common thing. Is "Fachwerk" an option?

Totally, and I am planning on doing a couple Fachwerkhäuser. Also a church, a clock tower and a port. Without wanting to sound arrogant, there is VERY little I cannot build (*), compared to large scale LEGO cars this is much easier. I even have special LED light bricks to illuminate it at night.

This is the next stage of the prototype. Added another building, tried out a new way of doing roofs.





(*) Tried building a girlfriend and a better future, but turns out LEGO has limitations. 

Thats ok. Everyone steps on my future. 

I've bookmarked that, not sure if i will ever get round to doing it but i have bookmarked it. 

Finished three buildings, now I am going to order some bricks to make them reality. Only 3500 bricks! 

I think it's about time with another painting demo by Vladimir Volegov.

Did you ever build these?

One of my hobbies is making plastic models of really everything that's out there and one of my latest models was the Porsche Carrera GT in scale 1/12 from Tamiya.



It was a lot of fun not perfect but close to perfect.

I know absolutely nothing about Lego, except for trying out putting together and separating a few bricks at friends when I was a kid. We never had enough bricks for anything anyway.
...But are you telling me that there is a Lego CAD software? Where you can prototype anything? And figure out what you need?
