Huehuehue~ Bhelen just amuses me in general. I want to see his face when he finds out male!Aeducan named his baby Endrin, too. "STOP COPYING ME." Freyja named her dog Endrin. I bet Bhelen is very happy about that too. My Ozera likes her dog too much to give him a name that made her angry. Zheeva Cadash named her mounts after paragons, though (she's not overly impressed with Orzammar... )

My Kathlin Cadash named her nuggalope Ser Nuggington, Arl of Nugsleigh. (She may have stuck an Inquisition flag in a field in the Hinterlands and declared in the Arling of Nugsleigh so he would have something to rule over.)
Angrimm Cadash was a weirdo who rode a horse. I mean, what else can you expect from a dwarf that converts to Andrastianism? But at least he called it Salroka.

I made an attempt at a Southeast Asian looking Cadash, which sadly has its limits in character creation, but I like how he looks. He'll be making the tough decisions, doing everything to close the breach. I suspect that by the end of the game a lot of the companions will hate him. It'll be difficult. I always feel guilty even though it's not real.

Hello! *grabsapint*
My dwarven Quiz was not lying when she said she could still sense the Stone. It was certainly not as strong as if you were underground, but Cadash could. Mainly because alot of the rhetoric about being cut off was propaganda against going to the surface/surfacers in general.
And she has been to Orzammar many times because although they are loathe to admit it, their economy is dependent on trade with the surface. So Cadash has been to Orz, not the better parts of it, mind, but there is a robust smuggling operation...and one that does not merely sit at the gates.
That's my headcanon on that.

At least the beards in DAI weren't plagged by the "and suddenly empty cheek" bug. But the hair weren't really good, now. And Bioware has still to learn how to make black hair black and not bluish black.

And Bioware has still to learn how to make black hair black and not bluish black. I would have settled for bluish black. Until I added a utility, my "black" hair turned muddy brown unless I was in a dark room. I had a Cadash and a Lavellan whose hair I changed to white and red because I found it so annoying. The utility is the only reason I have black hair on Vetra Cadash, and even then it doesn't look black sometimes (actually, I've used more mods on her than anyone, I think.)

The braided beards were awesome!
I'd like to see some more "tribal" options in the hair dept from BW. Especially for dwarves..
Oh, but I wonder if we'll have race options again? I also hope that DA4 continues to explore more dwarven culture because I have sincerely fallen in love with it.
I should have suspected when my favorite quest of DAO was the Orzammar and Deep Roads part. Yeah, I know, right? But I loved going there. Still my favorite part. I consider the Dwarven noble origin story one of the best ones, and I've played them all.
I love their architecture. The lighting of it. What they can apparently do with runes is quite intriguing. And I was really surprised to see so many ruins on the surface in DAI. Heck, they were even in Skyhold. Those two dwarven statues. And that Hissing Wastes story about the House that apparently ran to the surface--back before the first blight (iirc)--to keep some invention from being misused as a wmd.

I loved the braided beards! Even though my Warden was just scruffy and not beardy, huhu. If he'd been a fancy nobleman he'd probably be sporting some serious beardage.
I'm hoping for more unique hairstyles in the next game. Not just for dwarves, but for everyone. I've been waiting for dreadlocks for so... so... long. Or some big curly hair, or a few practical but pretty braided styles?

My one male dwarf had a lovely shorter beard with braids, sigh. I'm hoping they can tackle hair a bit more seriously in the next game. At least give us lots of braided styles if you don't want to struggle with animating it.

Sten in DAO had pretty decent locks, although they were more braids than locks. But they were nice. Idk if the male PC had access to that style, though.
I would like it as a hair option because to me it seems rather unisex. I could see several of my Inquisitors rocking Sten's old hairstyle.

Eh, Sten had some cornrows going on and the male PC had access to that hairstyle too. It's the one I used, but only 'cause it was the closest thing I could get to locks. I agree with Tish, though - the moar braids the better!

yeah he did, but I would take it at this point. You can do some sexy/beautiful things with braids. All while not having them get in the way of stuffs. We'll see. The crusade for better hair marches on.

That is adorable!
I have to ask you all something. I have a problem doing romances with my dwarf because of the height thing. My Dwarven ladies in DAI never romance anybody because of that. I mean, I have quite the fleshed out head canon romance going on with Varric, but you know what I mean.
How do you deal with that? Or do you just Deal With It.

I don't think that I would be able to do it any different, even if we finally got a dwarf LI. I have never done an inquisition play through with a Cadash going after Scout Harding. Plus, I can't get over Cadash/Cassandra. Height doesn't affect love to me.

I've sort of fallen in with Josie's romance by default. The twirl looks ridiculous but I made it part of the story: people like f!Cadash never get to be the swashbuckler fighting for the lady's hand so the height just accentuates how she has to fight to belong in that world.

I mean, I have quite the fleshed out head canon romance going on with Varric, but you know what I mean. How do you deal with that? Or do you just Deal With It. Eh, it was a problem for me in DAI, not because I mind a height difference, but I do mind a height difference animated poorly, etc. They took the time with IB's mostly, but that's not one I can bring myself to play. I tried, really, REALLY hard to play Blackwall's and I'll probably never finish the PT. Blackwall himself I like a lot. I just thought the romance itself felt poorly paced and incomplete, and they didn't take the time to do the animations with a dwarf correctly (I've used a mod for romancing Cullen with a f!Cadash, and it only has slightly more problems than Blackwall's that was supposedly animated for dwarves, IMO.) Not everyone is as bothered by it as I am, though. I prefer male romances, but I've played w|w romances (I really enjoyed romancing Leliana with a Tabris and a Surana in DAO.) Sera makes some comments at the beginning that make trying to romance her with a dwarf that I just can't imagine my dwarves getting past; I could probably romance her with a qunari or a human. Josie is adorable, but I haven't been able to bring myself to follow through on one with her. I'm not actually sure if there are many animation problems with either of those two. Ironically, it felt to me as if Blackwall's was the one they expected to be the default romance for f!dwarves, which is really depressing. My "canon" solution is Harding. But for at least one of my Cadash's I used a mod to play Cullen's, and it accidentally has some very cute moments. I had no problem romancing Alistair or Zevran with dwarves in DAO, though. When I get around to playing male dwarves, I've seen enough of Cass's to know I'll enjoy it. I haven't seen Dorian's with a male dwarf, so I'm not sure if the animations grate or not.
