So just read in Kotaku that RDR2 has bad input lag and that Odyssey also suffers from this as does Spiderman, Destiny 2 and the last Unchartered game.
If this means hitting an ability button and it not responding then that has most definitely been my experience with Odyssey, except that I'd say for me its ridiculously bad. As an example I have "Heroic Strike" mapped to "1" and I have on many occasions had to hit "1" three or 4 times to get it to perform the ability which can be incredibly frustrating in difficult fights. It also seems to be worse against enemies such as the animals you hunt for the daughter of Artemis quests. Yesterday fighting Kallisto the Bear I had to hit "1" at least 4 times for the ability to actually do its thing, which when a giant bear is coming at you and it does 25% damage in one hit is not really ideal.
From memory this was also an issue sometimes in MEA for me. Anyone else on PC experience this, just wanting to eliminate it being my keyboard?

dazk, your infamy must have gone down rooster generations and crowing messages that spread through the towns; watch for this two legs!. I don't get much input lag. If there's any, they're not noticeable.

You’re sure it wasn’t linked to a story element or actions earlier in the game? I’ve never once had any issue with bounties. I’ve somehow earned every single one. No definitely not linked to anything, was very bizarre. I also much earlier had to kill a family of farmers who somehow found me in stealth when the guards couldn't and got no bounty for that at all????? So further to this, I just left Athens after Perikles is killed and after having to fight off some Athenian guards and of course I got a bounty put on me. Is this a correct application of the bounty system? I also got one yesterday for taking down a Spartan camp of 2 soldiers who died before they knew what was happening yesterday and it was in the middle of nowhere with no civilians anywhere. Anyway another question that I'll spoiler for anyone still playing the game: Can you avoid Phoibe getting killed? They did a similar thing with a young girl in Origins that was quite heart breaking and I hope this isn't going to be a recurring theme in the next AC games because I am not a fan. Also it was so telegraphed from almost the first moment you meet Phoibe.

If there's any, they're not noticeable. I have actually never killed a Rooster that I am aware of, this was just so random as to be ridiculous Cheers I am wondering if it is my long abused and suffering keyboard. I just did some combatand I literally had to hit "1" 3 times to make Heroic Strike fire, may see if I can pull it apart and give it a good clean. Spartan kick is back in my inventory, its just fun EXCEPT when Kass doesn't engage the enemy and just kicks thin air.

dazk , concerning the spoiler. No, she is meant to die. It's too bad that interesting chars have to die. Concerning the bounty. I can't recall if I have one after Perikles died. If there's one, it's likely put up by cultists. You'll get a hefty bounty later on and it's sponsored by cultists.

Re the spoiler, I really hope the dev's don't have that as some recurring thing cause it was an impactful thing in Origins but it was so obvious and annoying in Odyssey.

I don't think it's Kleon after Perikles died. It's another cultist whose name I forgot. Kleon's sponsored bounty come later. I remember that after Perikles died, the protag has to bring Anthusa (sp?) away from Athens. The real hefty bounty which came from Kleon, appear much later when the protag has to stay in Athens to do follow up quests. I know, right? dazk. I tried hard to find a way out for her but the dialogue options don't even offer that. It's so frustrating when Kass repeatedly told her what she ought not to do and there were close brushes already. I really want to chew Anthusa out.

I had minor input lag when the game launched, but it seems to be gone now. I am using my mouse to fire abilities and switch wheels and it's smooth.
Dazk, try rebinding the button that gives you issues to see if it's not just a bad key.

Hey is anyone here doing a full assassin playthrough rather than a hunter/warrior/assassin hybrid playthrough? Is it even possible? I was thinking of switching Alexios into a full blown assassin build but I'm worried that it's not possible or just not worth it...

Hey is anyone here doing a full assassin playthrough rather than a hunter/warrior/assassin hybrid playthrough? Is it even possible? I was thinking of switching Alexios into a full blown assassin build but I'm worried that it's not possible or just not worth it... My first run was with Kassandra in heavy Assassin gear and all Assassin skills. It's a very strong build, but can suffer a bit if you are caught in melee combat. You still have tools there like Poison and Hero Strike plus Vanish, so it's hardly a handicap. In Conquests though you might want to have some Hunter or Warrior gear to fall back on. Even if you go only with Assassin skills, eventually you will end up with lots of extra skill points. There are quite a few Hunter/Warrior abilities that synergize great with the stealth approach - Sixth Sense (very, very useful), hunter passives (for refilling adrenaline), Ghost arrow (for that one kill in a guarded closed off room you can't be malaka'd to sneak in), Battlecry of Ares (some extra damage and bunch of seconds of immortality for "oh, malaka" moments). I play Alexios as full Warrior build and still end up assassinating most of the Forts before I get a full blown melee jamboree. My lack of Assassin damage means I have to use Critical Assassination even on regular mooks or a normal assassination followed by fire sword in face. Surprisingly the last one can be stealthy too, unless my sword grazes a dry bush that ignites and sets on fire the nearaset tent which in turn sets fire on the nearby oil jars and before you know it the whole fort swoops in to reenact the burning of Troy and you are in the role of Achilles. They are on fire, you are on fire, the fort is on fire, everyone is on fire! As I previously said - you can track my Alexios by just following the smoke. At higher level with full Assassin gear and the Tier 3 passive that gives you 50% extra damage at night/out of combat there will be almost nothing you won't kill in 1 stealth hit.

omg, this is so funny. I decided to take Kass out for a spin. Hit a bandit camp. There was one bandit left and during the melee, I spartan kick him. He should go flying right? Nope, he went through the game world. I watched him fall down, down, down until he landed somewhere very far down and then his tag disappeared.

Absolutely, I got a bunch of Polemarch and Mercenaries 1-hit kills on even Hard difficulty. Usually at night with the 50% passive buff, Critical Assassination and a few Crit damage gear stats. Once I went for a regular assassination on a Polemarch that showed it will hurt him for about 25-30% of his HP. I got a crit and with my massive Crit damage from gear he got killed in 1 hit. I got mad because I actually wanted to recruit him 😀
For extra quick triple damage on same target you can try a combo of point blank arrow headshot from behind (it's automatic critical plus a benefit of 40% damage from behind if you have that engraving), then you have a window to do assassination attack (Sixth Sense helps) and then Hero Strike. I doubt anyone can survive that.
Btw, why none of you, malakas, told me that keeping the hold down on the whistle key not only summons the horse but also automatically makes Alexios run to and mount it? Took me 150+ hours to find out. Do you know how many times I had to run circles after Phobos to catch him up manually?

saandrig , oh definitely, he was dancing in Hades. When he finally stopped dropping, he walked around with that flashing ? *where am I? By Zeus, it cannot be! Nooooo!* before disappearing completely. You don't know about the whistle thingy? I guess you didn't read the flashing tutorial / tips during loading. You hold down X to call the horse and if the protag is running (auto-run), the horse will catch up and they will auto-leap onto the horse. Phobos away!
I popped into Steam discussion and find it peculiar that Kassandra is an issue and the usual claptrap sprung up; SJW blah blah *cough cough*. Maybe people are forgetting that it's a fictional story with fictional chars set within a historical timeline; suspend disbelief! It's a game meant to be enjoyed. I don't understand the grumblings.

I am talking about holding down the whistle key and your character auto moves even when stationary to mount the horse and it happens no matter if the horse is freshly summoned and running or just standing still and malaking around close by. Don't get involved in those malaka SJW threads. There are always people that will complain if a woman in a videogame is not: in the kitchen/selling herself on the street.

Update: I've now logged 88 hours of playtime and like 90% of the world I've explored. I'm also nearing 700k dracmea (there's nothing to spend it on! And it's so easy to get, o wonder if there's an achievement for 1 million).
I still have two mythical creatures to kill but I'm saving that storyline for last. For the most part I've done most of the landmarks and such, I've ignored the few that have pissed me off because of chests either not spawning or some dumb shit happening (specifically ocean areas I ignore). The main storyline I'm at Legos now and I'm pretty much ready to go kill him and I'm assuming I'll be dealing with the cultist king at some point very soon.
I've got my boat all decked out in gold now as well as my Kassandra wearing the Amazonian gear.
I will say I'm despising the difficulty when npcs either one shot you or pretty damn close, that's gotta be one of the most uncreative ways to add difficulty to a game, especially when combat can have some input BS going on where you don't Dodge or parry when you specifically hit the buttons. This might be my biggest gripe with the game and it's a BIG one since there's a lot of fighting and higher tier opponets as you get bigger. I don't like artificial BS when it comes to high damage dealing AI or "bullet sponges". -2 ubisoft, -2👍

If the horse is nosying around and moves away, I just whistle again and run off in the other direction. Come to me, Phobos! Oh I don't get involve in that kind of threads. I'm just bemused by all the fuss and consider it a mountain out of a molehill. I've to confess I'm curious about the ticking brain behind such stances.

saandrig , oh definitely, he was dancing in Hades. I know about the running thing, it happens without holding down the whistle key, just needs the horse to move very close past you. What is being said in the SJW threads, is it one in particular?

Ok so did the mum reunion and have the choice now of finding dad or going to Sparta or doing a couple of other things. I knocked of the number 1 mercenary but was disappointed not to move to tier 1, there are 3 other Malakas who have moved into it. I am thinking I may go kill them first. Is there any point hunting down the cultists or should I let the story play out and find them that way? I really love Kassandra's character and her VA and her delivery of lines like this:

dazk , oh there's this one thread where someone complained that Kass is even in the game because it's not historically accurate; there're no women warriors or mercenaries. And comments on skin colour additions, etc, grumbles about Ubisoft being inclusive, SJW, etc. I was thinking as I read the thread; it's not a history game. It never claimed to be such. Why even nitpick about historical accuracy? The entire story is fiction. Right from AC #1, Ubisoft has always included that message about the devs comprised of various races, etc, etc. What's the problem with it now? It's better to hunt down all the cultists. Doing the main story will accomplish it anyway. If the devs put max spear level at 6, there's likely something really tough dropping in much later. Yep, killing the top mercenary doesn't mean protag is #1. Have to kill all the ones in front. I've started a third PT. I don't have other games on the horizon. The one other new game, Kingmaker, which I've started and dropped due to bugs, I cannot continue. I checked the thread and it's apparently still buggy so I'm waiting for the devs to iron them out. It'll probably take till next year before I'll touch it again. I'm focusing on hunter this time because I realise I relied rather heavily on the bow. Currently head-shotting mobs and got the engraving up to 16% adrenaline per headshot. Pretty blood pumping during the fight with Dei who again jumped on Kass out of the blue. This time she has one companion with her who's also a boss with a name; big hp bar. I headshot killed the companion while we were both dodging and moving. Btw, the new Cyclop is available. Oh yes, toggling autocraft for arrows is pressing the wheel of the mouse, isn't it? It doesn't work for me or is it something else?
